Welcome to all the new chatters!
Kelly ~ Joaquin is a beautiful boy!
I have been so lazy today! The knees and sinus problems have about gotten me down. But, I hope to feel better tomorrow and get out of the house.
My DH has decided not to do the monthly antique show he has been doing for the last few years. I am very happy about that but worry that the extra money won't be there. The buyers have not been there since last summer and it's a lot of work for so little $$$'s. We have to figure out what to do with a house full of "real" antiques. Not the stuff that most of the antique malls are stocking (mostly for decorating). The news ran a bit about the idea that most Americans are not interested in collecting antiquities and are de-cluttering (downsizing). That makes sense.
I have a foot locker full of vintage/antique jewelry that I guess will be packed up and stored.

I remember reading an article about, Cleaning Our Mental Houses" as well as our physical houses. Some of what we carry around in our brains is learned behaviors. But those behaviors can be changed thru positive thoughts. It also talked about the uplifting feeling of opening all the windows and doors to sweep out what doesn't help you. They stated this activity can "let in" other thoughts, other feelings, so you have to be vigilant in closing those doors in your mental house to kind of regulate you. Just like working thru relationship issues, the work brings up more work, and even though it gets messy ( emotionally), its needed. You gotta get messy, before you can move forward.
Have a beautiful day!

My Dad's Mom had an ice box in an old side room. She also had a regular refrigerator but we all liked the ice box 2r a h7ot se7r789808999999jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj2. Sorry about that. Mr Mozart just ran across the key board. Anyway, we went up there every summer for a week. We knew we would be working since she still had a small farm and Dad's brother had a big farm. In Minnesota you have 5 meals a day if you live on a farm. Some of my most memories came from those summers. She also continued to use a wood burning stove/cook top. Very old typical farm house.
Yes, my new kitty can be exasperating at times. To us and to Melody. But last night Melody was dishing out as much as Mr Mozart was giving. They chased each other around the house so many times. He tried to get inside my housecoat to play today but I wouldn't let him. When I do laundry, I Iike to be washing every item of clothes I own. I have two housecoats and I out my spare one on. So I was completely buff under the hosuecoat. Wasn't going to allow that. He is beginning to recognize the blue bottle though. It is my water bottle, my weapon! I finally got Charlie to use it today. We like to eat in the living room. I wouldn't allow my cat to be on the kitchen table so why should I let them try to be on our lap or around the food while we eat. Melody already knows it. Charlie was just trying to push him away and he got tired of that so he is using the bottle. Plus if I used it, them I got Charlie wet also.
Lisa, you are right, 2 cats in a little over 200 sq ft would be disastrous unless they were adult and liking each other.
Carol, love the grand kids. Especially holding hands.
Karen, Jauquim won't be that size in 4 weeks. Enjoy and send all the extra Grandma love from all of us.
Well I will bring 2.2 pounds to the discussion. It's not my wieght gain or loss but I finally weighed little squirt. I am sure that is several ounces more than Thursday last week.
Have a good day, Joyce Indiana2 -
Good day y'all!
Barbie and Felicia. I just can't go without my coffee or creamer! However, I have changed from imitation creamers to fat free half and half. I leave an extra tablespoon on my spoon rest next to the Keurig and I measure the half and half into a 8 oz cup and a sweetener. So, I allow myself 40 calories for coffee.
Penny. Cute hares! We have bunnie rabbits around here. They come out early and late and love to nibble on the lawn.
Karen in NY. Thanks for the praise and support!! I feel at age 68 this is my last chance to lose weight. I've been "heavy-set" my whole life. Yo-yo diets all the time. Quick Weight Loss, Weight Watchers, even injections of some hormones from horses! Even though I have had back surgery and depression, I'm going to do this!!
Friday! Yeah! Mexican cuisine day!
Have a great evening and weekend!

Did 30 min HIIT and then 30 min on the stairstepper. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Lower Body Total Body DVD.
Mary - poison ivy, drives you crazy (I know it did me). Unfortunately, once you get it, you just have to weather the storm. One thing I did find to help TEMPORARILY relieve the itching was you put your blowdryer on the itch, get it hot to the point where you can't stand it any more. That will temporarily relieve the itching. The theory behind this (and this makes sense) is that the heat breaks up the histamine that causes the itching. When I had poison ivy, I went thru tubes of hydrocortisone, too.
Heather - lovely cushion. Did you make it or buy it?
machka - good thoughts for your dad
pitegny - I do hope things work out for you with your eyes. How scary!
cathywright - welcome! Good luck on your Couch to 10k. Sounds like you get a lot of steps in
Allie - you CAN do this!
Lisa - if you get a cat from the Humane Society, spaying, shots, etc. are included with the adoption fee
Toni - glad everything worked out for you with your meds
Peach - I love when I prelog food and then don't eat it. Makes me feel so good
alexx - welcome! Is your avatar something from World of Warcraft? You've come to a good place for motivation, that's for sure
Joaquin is SOO adorable
J9 - how right you are, this group IS awesome. Welcome!
Been doing lots to get ready for the bowling party. I didn't even get in my pool . Vacuumed the spa, washed all the tables, put out the recycling and garbage containers, put up the signs, had to get dressed, cooked the chicken and spanikopita. It's in the warming tray right now with foil on top so it doesn't dry out. Put out chocolate chip cookies in case we don't have enough desserts that Vince'll eat. Now getting the coolers ready with the beer and water. Got the hamburgers and hot dogs ready for Vince to grill. I like to take a rest before we have a party/social/get together/whatever but I don't know if I'll be able to this time. Put ice in the ice buckets
Had to have one of the spanikopita. Put the second batch of them in the oven and forgot to put the timer on. Fortunately, I kept thinking "boy, it's been a long time" but they weren't burned, just browned. The spanikopita that I had was too hot. But that may have been a blessing in disguise. Now my tongue is a little burned so I probably won't want to eat as much. Well, I'm trying to look on the bright side.
Logging what I can.

Good evening ladies. My golf game got cut short due to heavy rains. It is still raining and back yard is flooding. So far the river hasn't come over the bank.
Joaquin is absolutely adorable. They just grow up too fast.
So it is day two of my renewed determination and I feel good with my choices today. If it rains all weekend as forecast, I may be in trouble because I will be bored. However, I could wash my inside windows, right?
Welcome to the newbies. So nice to meet new people.

Thank you Becca! So blessed to be apart of this wonderful group of women!
Because I have y'all in my corner I have not succumbed over the last 2 weeks to throwing in the towel as I would have in the past. My weight is creeping back up and it is baffling to me. I keep statistics beyond MFP and all "numbers" suggest I should be losing weight! Trying not to panic here. This has made me really look around my life and body to see why this is happening. Coincidentally my hot flashes/night sweats have shown up again with a vengeance and I can see some edema in my ankles. I can only contribute this to the reason my weight has increased a bit. The good thing is that I have learned from here and y'all that staying the course is what I need to do. I have a doctors appt next week to get prescription refills and will ask him if anything else is going on.

UPDATE: The weight vanished into the night air over the last couple of days. Go figure. And I am now at a new low weight of 174.8 pounds! I'll take it and I am so very proud of myself for weathering this blip in my journey. I was able to evaluate the situation and stay the course even though the candy aisle was calling my name at WalMart!

Good morning glories! I am actually on early (ish) this morning! I had to get both DYS and DH up by 4 am this morning. DYS had to be to work by 5am and DH had on online meeting with his European IT coworkers. So...along with getting my yard sprinkled, my walk, and my strength challenge done; I also got two loads of laundry, a load of dishes, breakfast and some daycare paperwork done! Yea! AND to top it off, my early arrival kids will not be here today, so that gives me an extra 45 minutes before kids arrive! Whoot! Friday=so far so good!
Loving all of the pictures!
Carol- Are your kids on a swim team? Cute pic! Love the goggles and did you see, they are holding hands?! Just sweet!
Beth- it's called life. I know it is not an excuse for not staying on track; but life is messy and disruptive sometimes! Hang in there! Refocus! You've got this!
New girls- Welcome! Great group here!
Mary- Feel better! Hope whatever you are going through has an "easy" fix. Maybe some rest? Thinking of you!
Pip- You say you hate the wind; but I think if there ever was a week when you didn't face the wind, it would be like a movie with no bad guy. You need the wind to be the superhero that you are!
Pet Peeve- Did the laundry today and found two sticks of lip balm and four (FOUR!) paperclips. I am pretty sure DH has a death wish!
Gotta fly...ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

ONe more from me, before my day ends.
Felicia- Coffee! I have a love/hate relationship with this beverage! I used to drink a pot a day; but I have cut it down to one and a half cups. I also used to drink it with cream (flavored was better) and lots of sugar. So, basically, a liquid candy bar. I slowly cut down the sugar to 1 tsp. And I cut out the cream. I went from flavored, to unflavored half and half, then skim milk. Funny thing, coffee is one of those things that I have to give up when I begin to get a sinus infection. Not sure what it is about it, but it makes me very nauseous.
Becca- What a beautiful bridge! It looks like it is a bridge to the clouds! I want to go!
About Joaquin- To the new girls; he is my first and only grand baby, so I show lots of pics of him as I do not have any fur babies. I try to keep the pics down to a minimum. My DD (his mama) and her little family live and work in the Fort Worth area of TX. When they come to visit in four weeks, Joaquin will be 4 months old. I do miss him. My DD, a little; but she isn't changing as quickly as he is and daily communication with her helps to ease that loneliness. Although I frequently rail my fists at technology; I am so thankful for the advancements and it's ability to keep us in closer contact to family. Technology has already made my gratitude journal!
It has really been a wonderful day with the daycare kids. I took them on a two hour walk this morning and we covered four miles! Not bad for 2-4 year olds. The littler ones were in the stroller. I have had a steady 9-11 kiddos every day, due to the preschools and kindergartens getting out of school a couple weeks before the older grades. So the extra 3-5 (depending on the day) are older siblings of kids I already care for (and that I used to care for). Anyway, my lunch hour, when I was lucky enough to get all kids sleeping at the same time, has vanished, with having the older ones at the table with me doing some "school type" pages, coloring, puzzles, etc. while I eat my lunch and the others nap. So the younger ones napped early, due to the long walk, and we were able to take a quick hike over to the beach to play in the sand (and get a little wet in the lake) before parents picked up. I always like it when I can send the kids home, tired, sandy, and smelling like sunscreen. It's a good day!
It has been a good day; but a Loooooong one! Hitting the hay and sending you all love and hugs and positive energy at this first weekend of a new month! xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Toni in TN: Congratulations on getting your medicine situation handled. Yay!!!
Mia: Nice day for you. I love it when people feel blessed. :flowerforyou:
Lenora: The gallbladder attacks were definitely the worst pain I've experienced. Childbirth is not even close to that painful. I'm happy to have had the gallbladder removal surgery.
alexxstarnes: Welcome!
KJLaMore: Joaquin is adorable. Share the photo as often as you like. He makes me happy.
Cheri: Congratulations on the weight loss. star:
I have a riding lesson tomorrow afternoon at 4pm. I'll have to report Arrow's bad behavior to my teacher and get advice for future use in case it happens again. Arrow, not being perfectly well behaved, is a great teacher. The skills I learn for dealing with him will easily translate to other horses.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening My Dear Friends,
Pat, you are so right that this thing only works if we have the right attitude. It’s not always easy or fun but the payoff is great. Congrats on the size 16.
Barbie, how nice that Jake got to go to the game. And that you got the house to yourself for a while.
Lanette, my DH does go grocery shopping but guess he doesn’t get to talk a lot to the checkers. I didn’t think about it until I read your post, but when we do have a service person at the house, DH talks their ears off. LOL I do hate that he chooses not to have any outside friends to talk to. It would sure help me.
MicheleNC, good luck with your goal. Let us know how that goes. Not sure I could do that one.
Heather, I love the cushion! I see why you like it.
CarolGA, darling grands.
to all the Newbies. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
I took the day off from the gym but did exercise close to an hour at home this morning. Yeah, Me!!! I did some dusting and some cooking. I boiled some chicken and deboned it then made chicken salad. I cleaned some broccoli and cauliflower that I later cooked for dinner. Tomorrow morning I have to be at the Moose lodge at 8:00 for a training class. That is early to be somewhere for this old retired gal.
Sending love, good thoughts and sunshine to all of you.
I Love you
