Good Friday morning. Sounds like it is going to be a real hot weekend up to 98. So not to upset about working 10 hours each day as will be in where it is cool. Saturday evening they are having a birthday party for my great grandson who just turned 4 at the park.

Janetr--What a cutie and happy baby.

Michele--Glad you were not hurt in your fall.

Allie--I agree having him served in public is a good idea. Just do not let him try to talk you into anything. Sending hugs and saying a prayer.

Well I am behind again and will try and catch up tomorrow. I am having a stress headache and to the point I am having trouble with my eyes. I get off in a hour and going to go home and lay down in a dark room.

Katla, Lisa - I have YNY for Women and also Slimmer This Year, which gives great nutritional advice plus exercises and regime suggestions. I just LOVE all the science bits in those books. Aren't bodies fabulous!

Katla ahh noooo, so sorry to hear about your finger break! See the specialist, know it will be fine. Don't be grumpy, be grateful it wasn't a wrist. Things can always be worse! Hugs friend. Husband can turn into a cabana boy and get ya stuff. I said so!

Heather Thank you for your inspiring piece on living together. I especially like the idea of extending the rules of politeness to family. Very insightful!
Allie Thinking of you. I know there is a lot of advice coming your way. You will do what is best for you. My only hope for you is that you consider your safety at all times as things often escalate when a woman tries to end things with an abusive partner. You are very brave and although I do not know you; I am very proud of you <3
DJ So sorry to hear about your friend :/

I just finished teaching a two-day course to managers in our Hospital called Crucial Conversations: www.vitalsmarts.com/crucial-conversations-training/ I love teaching this course and slowly having a positive impact on our work environment.

Hoping to get out and bike tomorrow. Did Leslie S this morning and now patiently waiting on my daughter's sweet potato quinoa veggie burgers.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .

    Good Evening My Dear Friends,

Janetr, I love the picture of Mia. What a sweetie.

Leigh, Happy retirement. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Heather, you are so right about the importance of common curtesy for our family members. It’s ashamed that we often forget those things for the ones we love most.

M, congrats on finishing your course. I have to hand it to you to be doing it at all. I was never that fond of school and was just happy to get my BS degree.

Allie, I’m so proud of you. I know none of this is easy and you must be terribly hurt but you are doing the right thing. (((Hugs)))

MicheleNC, sorry to hear about Jess but hopefully they can remove it all and leave the uterus intact.

NYKaren, congrats on dropping the weight.

Kelly, cute pic of Joaquin. Daddies are too funny.

Tere, I know how unpleasant it can be to work in an office full of drama. Good luck on not letting it get to you. ((Hugs))

Katla, sorry to hear about your finger. I know it will make you grumpy if you can’t ride.

Beth, get yourself in the gym to work out and not just watch the pregnant ladies. Lol You can do it.

I have caught up again but didn’t respond to many. My friend’s funeral is Tuesday and as much as I’d like to go I simply can’t afford it. I’m sure I won’t be missed as she had soooo many friends. She lived in Milwaukee since college, went to Marquette basketball games for years and years and has worked at Italian Fest for many years. Thank you all for your kind comments. It will just take a while to get used to the fact that she is gone.

Did an hour of deep water today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Kathy Kaehler Basics DVD.

After exercise stopped at the Salvation Army, just found some bowls for Jess. Then went to Bi-Lo to see if I could get more soap for Jess since it was 75% off. Boy, were they wiped out! Guess I just hit it at the right time. Got a few things, but not much. Came home and Vince was raking the dirt in the front yard so I went out and helped him put down the seed, the straw and he watered the new seed. I know that this isn't the time to seed, but we shall see what if anything takes. Then I went in my pool

Katla - I'm not sure how long Jess will be in the hospital. I'll probably stay up there at least a day or two after she gets out, depending on how she's feeling. How did you injur your finger? "Cabana old fart"...lol

Becca - I've burned bread in the broiler. I've found that I can usually scrape the burnt part off.

Kerry - I had a seizure about a year ago and am now taking Lamictal.

Lenora - I like Sam's shrimp, mainly because it's big and makes a good presentation. I think their meats are good. But like you say - just so much of it. I don't have THAT much room in my freezer! I'm so sorry to hear about that baby

Allie - that's just too too bad if it's embarrassing to be served at work. I'm crying crocodile tears. What a crying shame that T can't afford it. Keep it up, girl. We're all behind you every step of the way. Be sure to keep checking in with us. We're all concerned about you, especially once T is served. I can definitely see T grabbing the phone out of your hand while you are trying to call 911. Do you have a cell phone? Perhaps you can keep it in another room and go to that room, lock the door, and call 911 from there.

Karen in VA and Dana - I've bought Sudafed in Florida, no prescription needed.

    Welcome everyone new!

DJ - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend

Sue in WA - a gal in Newcomers isn't going on this flower trip after the general meeting next week. Honestly, I'm not interested anyway. I'm going to bring the crochet to her. Something just looks "off. The count is correct. Maybe it looks "off" because I ripped it out so many times

Vicki - no, I wasn't hurt when I fell, except for a sore bum. Good thing I have lots of padding! Hope you feel better

Beth near Buffalo - you sound like you're ready to tackle this.

    Elizabeth - enjoy Vermont!

Vince is getting my ant finished (the antenna). He got this "grumpy cat" (not really grumpy cat, but very much like him) and he put it on the fence like it's trying to jump out.

Michele in NC. Um when you broil a small outdoor bun, and 50% turns to charcoal, there's not a lot left when you scrape off the burnt part! Heehee! I did try to, but it crumbled in my hand!

What was supposed to be a rainy day has turned out to be sunny. I got my water exercise done at the YM and also swam some laps. One of the risk factors involving enlarged aorta is overweight so I have a new impetus to lose some more weight.

Katla - Sorry about the finger. I broke mine trying to shove my mare over when she was coming through a gate too fast and I thought she might knock me down. No fun! I have fond memories of horseback riding in the Mount Rushmore area, gorgeous place. You should go to the lighting ceremony if you can.

KJ - Love Joaquin with his mustachio.

Allie - Keep hanging in there.

Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Thanks all for sharing your retirement stories! We should manage comfortably enough with everything paid for and I don't want to work the extra year until I'm 65. So just one more for me. I used to think 55 but life doesn't always work the way you thought it might. Part of the reason I want to be retired is to be able to schedule my exercise to my own body rhythms. As it is, I find excuses after working all day. I'm struggling to really get started this time.

    Ladies,

Will post tomorrow.... been trying to catch up. New puppy keeping me busy! Oh my! I slept in the recliner with her last night to see if she'd make it through the night... she was good until 2:00 AM. Will move into the guest room with her tonight.

Anyhow, am pooped and thought a lot of Joyce and her new kitten last night who takes care of his bathroom duties without any fuss or muss.

Rosie is playing hard, eating lots, sleeping hard. She and DH are in love.

Thinking of everyone - Becca and Prudence, Allie, Katla's broken finger, Heather and Kate with their election results, and others facing challenges and uncertainty right now.

    TGIF! B)<3 And then some!

For those of you worried about GodMomKim, I did text her today and got a prompt reply:
"I'm fine :D:|: <3 Amazingly busy. Give everyone my love.

    Allie:
Adding my prayers to all the others good wishes and energy. Stay safe, and if you need anything, let us know.

Katla: Hand specialists are worth their weight in gold. Hope your finger heals quickly.

Sue: Reiki heading your way. Stay strong.

Beth: Yes! One day at a time. Sometimes the hardest part of a gym routine is just showing up.

DJ: :heartbreak: So sorry for your loss.

Retirement is anywhere between 6 months to 4 years away for me. I do have an awesome job, and know that for every miserable moment, there are 10 more that make my heart sing. However, DH's cognitive issues may get worse, which would undercut my ability to travel for business. That could be a game changer.

Stay well friends. We can do this.

Allie, I haven't been commenting much on your marital situation, but I want you to know that I think you are an extremely brave woman by standing up for yourself. I know it's scary, been there, and there will surely be tough times ahead, but I am confident that when it is over you will emerge a stronger, healthier, more independent and confident woman. Never give up on yourself and your resolve, we are all here to support you and I'm even close enough to be there for you.

Katla Ooooh! Sorry to hear about your broken finger! How did it happen? And LOL "cabana old fart". Too funny!

    Cathy Very cute grandkids!

I walked a couple of miles today, went to Jazzercise class, and ran a bunch of errands. I am chilling, watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, eating homemade yogurt and raspberries. Life is good!
