Green Smoothie Cleanse - Store bought smoothie recommendation

Olivegirl - I've maintained a 40lb weight loss for 11 years. It was 60 lbs up until March. Which is why I'm back MFP. I'm eating healthy and providing my body nutrients. It's just a 3 day juice fast to attempt to see if it either does or does not impact my plateau. I've asked trainers and read articles. Pretty much a simple, "Doesn't hurt to try as long as you take supplements." response.
I genuinely don't understand why you'd knowing choose something that you KNOW is nutrient deficient enough that you need to take supplements, too.
I honestly think that some people have such an awful relationship with food that they think doing something like a cleanse makes them badass or "serious about it this time." Nutritional concerns aside, I just find it unnecessarily punitive and incredibly misguided.19 -
It is clear to me that people who listen to the facts and do come back to reply (good on you for that, OP) are in need of a psychological/emotional reset more than anything, and maybe the juice fast will do that if not have actual physical benefits. It's like cleaning your office before you get to work, or whatever. There's nothing actually stopping you from beginning, but a little mental clear down of the decks, a little procrastination to gird one's loins, so to speak. Nothing wrong with that, but let's call it what it is.8

I gave up reading on page 4 just wanted to say to all the familiar faces i see on here constantly, From the start of my loss (105 pounds in 14 months) Who whooped my dumb *kitten* with logic, And even those iv seen come in after me with open minds and watched learn, Who go on to take their time to teach others. The ones who have succeeded and fight the woo fight daily
Love you guys, Keep being great
And i have a green smoothie daily....Yummy and fiber/fat/protein dense. Juice is ...juice. Stick that stuff in a juice box im betting you wouldnt be nearly as conned. Fancy packaging and marketing, Like seriously if you insist on juices why not just make 1-2 green smoothies a day to replace small meals along with your other food, Keep your fiber and nutrients and sanity.
Or keep treating your body like a big company trash can and pay them for the "privilege"
Thats your choice. But i fail to see why your so against taking the advice of so many of us who have SUCCESSFULLY lost so much and keep it off and have already sorted through all the woo and broscience. We lived it and came out the other end smiling healthy and knowledgeable. With money left over for our sexy new outfits
-high fives to all the BAMF's up in here- Can't win em all heres hoping OP and those other few had a change of heart in last 2 pages16 -

It's absolutely not meant to be long term. I just find it hilarious you all seem to presume you all eat healthy all the time. So all of you have never relapse with bad eating habits? You're all your appropriate BMI? Weight?
I relapsed yesterday when I had cheesecake for lunch. Actually that just fit into my calories for the day. You dont have to eat healthy to lose weight. You dont need to make losing weight miserable.6 -
@ttcbelieve, I had a "green smoothie" for breakfast this morning. I have no idea if it meets the criteria for your source to be a 'detox cleansing green smoothie'.
Ingredients today: 4.4 oz kefir (I've seen Lifeway Kefir at WalMart, but ferment my own), 1 oz hulled hemp, 1 oz frozen berries, 30 g powdered peanut, 12 g LIV Fit Superfood Blend, [ 3 g creatine, not necessary], 60 g kale, 84 g frozen banana, 9.3 oz ice. Blend 3 minutes and it's both green and smooth. I like it and have it often.
Any frozen banana will do. I usually try to use only 4.0 oz kefir. Any green vegetable will do, but the bitter kale serves a purpose in the flavor I get and it will taste differently if you change the source of chlorophyll.0 -

Exactly. When you find the balance, you don't have to worry about "relapsing." You're just . . . eating and not making things more than what they are.6 -

Everytime i hear relapsing I think of someone relapsing into a drug addiction or something So I definitely do not view food that way.7 -

I had caramel funnel cake from DQ the other day, I had never had a funnel cake. My aunt couldnt understand my desire to have a 530 calorie funnel cake for the same price as the full burger/fries/drink/icecream meal.
Funny how some people will never understand that getting what you want trumps getting something just because more food XD
Was yummy4 -

Yeah thats something iv had to practice. Paying more for less XD Why do i need more when i can get what i want, Whether that be something more delicious to me but smaller or a slimmer nice waist when i pay the same amount for a drumstick from a variety store as the 4 pack from the grocery store i know damn well ill eat all that day xD lol0 -

Is this a subtle offer to make and provide them, for the right price, of course?
I had a green smoothie this morning too, oddly enough.1 -

I had mini butterfinger blizzards 3 nights out of a week (EFF YES, VACATION!) a few weeks ago. 350 cal each. They are my favorite DQ thing...due to the lack of DQs convenient to where I live, they are basically a once a year treat...gotta take advantage!

You know...that would be an absolutely brilliant use for all that organic kale I have in the garden. I could package it in instagram-friendly Ball canning jars. GENIUS!4 -

According to Cronometer, I consistently meet my nutritional needs and my blood work (done annually) is awesome. The food I eat tastes great and makes me feel good.
My BMI is 19 and I'm at my goal weight. I've been maintaining for almost two years now.
So does that make my opinions more valid?
Naaaa....Not really. I maintained for 3yrs
So how long would I have to maintain for my opinion about juicing to be valid?
15yrs :-)6 -

For the shucksters supplying this stuff it's really more about separating you from your money than your unwanted pounds. Don't be envious if you see a report of those company executives partying on their yachts at your expense.3 -

ttcbelieve wrote: »ok, general consensus seems to be...do not go with store bought one's. Thanks Y'all. I'll order online
Nope, consensus is this is a horrible idea and not necessary4 -
Whatever you decide, the most important thing is to do the juice cleanse right. But this, I mean - do not skip the pre-cleanse phase. One of the companies you mention has the detailed instructions on how to pre-cleanse. I have done the juice cleanse twice. First time, I was an idiot, didn't pre-cleanse, had a horrible experience and ranted afterwards how juice cleanses are a scam. Second time, I did it right - and got what I wanted. Speaking of which. I recommend setting realistic expectations which would be easy to measure.
E.g. when I was doing my cleanse, my main goal was getting rid of pimples and acne. And guess what - my skin did get better. Good luck!30 -
