Thanks everyone. I evacuated to NC but am very worried about my home and even more worried about my sister's home on Pine Island by Fort Myers. We are facing not only the hurricane but also 6 to 12 foot surge which could potentially wipe out the entire island. Praying for some hard headed friends who decided not to leave.1

Monday checkin
My successes and struggles.
I am feeling fatigued all the time. I need to find a day i can call in sick and just stay home and rest. Looking forward to sep22 which will be my 1st day off since July.
Because i am working so much everything at home is piling up.
I finally washed some dishes on my lunchbreak yesterday. Which allowed me to cook dinner finally. I had been eating out more for both the time convenience...and not being able to cook due to my mess!
Today i am going to try to tackle the rest of my dishes...need that moldy slow cooker taken care of so i can toss a meal in before i go to work in the morning!1 -

I started at 253lbs and drop down to 208lbs using my fitness pal! I fell off the wagon and got back up to 223lbs and now want to start working back to my goal weight! I'm always looking for friends to help push me as I will help push them. I have made some good friends from my fitness pal and looking for a few more! Like i said feel free to add me!2 -
I've seen this thread all of the *other* times I've joined mfp in the past five of six years, but I never commented. I'm hoping the bigger footprint I make on the site, the more I will feel the need to return daily!
I'm 50 and have about 100 pounds to lose. I was so disappointed this morning to see that last week's two pound loss was erased! I know in my mind that I'm on the right track and that I might flush two pounds away by tomorrow but I guess I really need those 'attagirls'!
If anyone would like to add me, please do, I'm trying to be a good cheerleader for others. ☺️5 -
Monday Check-in ... The scale this morning said I have lost just under a pound from last Monday's weigh-in ... Yesterday's weigh-in showed a bigger difference but I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back to sleep ... and got hungry enough that I ate a couple ounces of Blue corn tortilla chips and then topped it off with a half cup of pistachio's in the shell. THEN, I was able to fall asleep. That food was added to my food diary for today .... and I really don't like it when this happens cause then I end up not being able to eat enough during this day to last me through the night. It's like robbing Peter to pay Paul.3

Monday check in ~ I had to wake up super early for my work commute and did well in the morning by packing my breakfast to eat on the way instead of stopping at McD's. I struggled a bit at work because there is SO much junk food. I resisted and had a healthy vegetarian lunch instead. Currently laying in bed and wishing I had more calories to eat but I know it will disrupt my health goal.2

Currently 3 weeks since emergency c section, boy am I struggling in all aspects! Whew! Rough going right now.3 -
Wow has this last week been a struggle. With being sick and not having energy to do anything, eating lots of soup =sodium=gaining, and stress eating/just grabbing something while preparing for this storm has me up this morning by 4lb!!! Gotta find that straight and narrow path again before I destroy my progress!2

@Nikion901 yay for your loss!! I know how you feel about Peter and paul. I think I might take a page out of weight watchers and keep tabs on my weekly calories as well so if I am short a few days (as long as I am logging accurately) I might splurge using those. Getting paid by peter to pay paul.
@joannastanmfp great job making a plan to avoid pitfalls and sticking with it!!! When I get cravings and have no calories I drink a big glass of water and it usually helps.(but I'm not great at it )1 -
Tuesday goals
Cut out flavoured water enhancers this week!
So my goal is to be vigilant and drink lots of water! Plain or a bit of fresh lemon squeezed in.
But those darn water flavors make me want to eat more. Ugh. So they have to go!
Scale goal...i want to see 220s this month! Goodbye 230s you have been my buddy for the last couple months. I would like to reacquaint myself with Mr 220s now!

TUESDAY GOAL .... to keep my food intake within the calorie limit!!! The last couple days were OK, but today has been crazy ... I ate a whole bag of crackers and half pint of ice cream .... that is what happens when I am bored and I don't exercise!
I need to go back to having a routine; this situation of not working or having something specific to do is nuts!! Luckily I got some work this week (I work freelance), so at least I think that will help.
I am really looking forward to dropping pounds more consistently ... I really don't know how to regain the focus I had before the summer.

Hello all!
My name is Katie and I live in Wisconsin, USA! I have always struggled with weight - I went through high school at around 280 pounds and gained more during college topping out at about 315. After college I got my weight back to about 290 and then took a job working full time taking care of elite competition horses. During this job I lost down to 247 as my lowest. I felt so good and so much better, despite still being considered obese. (I am 5' 7"). A year ago I moved to Wisconsin and left the horse job behind for an office job. Now I sit and work 12 hour days on a computer right outside of my fully stocked kitchen. Since moving I went from about 260 to now being a high of 307. I can't believe how easily I gained all the weight back. It is time for me to get motivated and start having a healthier life style again.
For my Tuesday goal: I want to track what I eat all week and stay under my calorie goal.3 -

Lol you did great over the summer on vacation and while you moved. Sometimes we all need a short break. Just remember not to stock break foods at your home though jealous about the ice cream...it took all my willpower yesterday not to stop for some. Unfortunately i am commuting to the city today and had breakfast out already cause i was running behind. Sigh almost my whole calorie intake in 1 meal

Tuesday Goals ... now that I am feeling better I realize half the month has flown by and none of the items on my September to-do list have been completed, some are started but still in the process. I won't berate myself though because I did lose a full 8 days to illness where I was feeling too sick to do much more than drag myself to the kitchen to cook a simple meal and run the dishwasher when it got full. However, I did get the laundry started on Sunday and yesterday I cleaned up the kitchen sink and counter so I could cook a 4-serving roast chicken and vegetable recipe, as well as cutting the grass front and back. Today I really should do more laundry and clean up the mess on the dining room table (clutter, clutter, clutter everywhere). The big project for September is to get the garage cleaned out and ready for fall and winter ... that snow blower has got to go to the repair shop, and a space for lawnmower storage needs to be made ready so everything fits.1

I saw a recipe for Easy Minestrone Soup from Food Network that I'm going to make this week ... it does use a couple of processed/prepared items so I might alter it to use whole foods instead ... but it sounds good and nourishing ... something we both need to get completely over our illness.
The recipe makes 6 servings ...
in a large dutch oven, over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons butter (or use olive oil) and sauce till translucent 1 chopped onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, and 1 carrot sliced into rings. Lightly season with salt and pepper,
Add 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth, 3 cups roughly chopped Swiss Chard leaves, 1 cup small pasta shells, 1 cup green beans cut into 1" pieces, 1 tsp dry oregano, 1 16-0z jar of Classico Italian Sausage and peppers pasta sauce, 1 15-Oz can rinsed and drained Cannelloni beans, 1 yellow summer squash (remove seeds if large) and 1 zucchini cut into half moon slices, and 1 cup water.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until the pasta is soft and the veggies are tender. Divide amongst 6 servings and top each with some ripped basil leaves and gratings of Parmesan cheese.

I've been thinking about short and long term weight loss goals and wanted to share with you another mfp group I've found fun.
If you like Harry Potter look at the Harry Potter book weight loss challenge. Each short term goals is connected to each of the books. Lots of little goals start to add up!
I'd like to know if anyone else here is doing that challenge too!

Oh me oh my, I have got to get out of this funk! I don't know how! Got baby blues and am not happy with anything! Especially myself!
Amazing reading your posts that a group of people could reflect so much in common. Am finding that refreshing!
My goals this week:
Try to get through each day without breaking down
Continue keeping under calorie goal despite scale not moving
Drink more water
Do something for myself to feel good
I think being in this group/thread is what I need so I don't feel alone and can read a bit of normal and hopefully get back to myself again.
