Hugs Ladies!
So sad about our Gloria! You just never know from day to day when our time comes? I loved her caring nature, and all she did for her grandkids!

Yes. I believe that is the case -- while she was walking her dog.

1. Is there a way to keep this on my home page so that I don't always have to "search" for it? Surely there is an easier way!
2. How do I know what each of your names are. ie...Peach1984. Is this what I call you?

Another message from Gloria's daughter Patrice:
I will share the web page for funeral and expenses for the boys when one is set up. I really really appreciate the love and care we are getting from friends of my Mom.
Patrice was messaging me on Facebook Messenger. As soon as I see the webpage I'll copy it here for you all.

We have five grown children and seven grandchildren. I am the only caregiver for my mother and sometimes may be housebound for several weeks, due to my husband working out of town.
I have only read the comments here on Gloria. She sounds like an amazing woman and I am sorry not to have the chance to get to know her. I will definitely be praying for her family as they have many decisions to make.
Welcome! I live in NEGA as well - Jefferson area.

Hi gals. You know how there are some people who live these crazy disconnected chaotic lives? Well that's not me. Well it is me now. I just don't know how these things keep piling up. I think I will change my name and enter the witness protection program.
DH had a screening colonoscopy (routine) and of course he has a mass and of course he is having surgery October 4. Just in time to go to prison. DD#2 is now being threatened with legal action because she refuses to return her school-issued computer. She also won't change her address on anything so we gave her a deadline and after that date, we will throw out her mail. DD#1 conveniently made a dr. appointment for court date. UGH!
I seriously want to throw myself off a roof!
So anyway, that's why I haven't been here I just can't manage one more thing.
Take care to all, Meg6 -
I am in tears regarding Gloria. I too will miss sharing with her. It is so amazing how much all of you have come to mean to me. My "sisters" from all over the world.

I can't express how saddened I am to learn of the passing of our beloved Gloria. A hard lesson for us all, live life to its fullest and do something every day that makes you happy. Life is truly fleeting.

Good evening, all!
I’ve just put a quiche in the oven so after a harried day, I’ve finally got time for my evening check-in. We had some nice asparagus so I sauteed it in a little bacon fat and put it in the quiche with a few bacon bits and some parmesan cheese. We nearly always have eggs and frozen pie crust on hand, so this is a go-to meal when I want something easy.
Katla – I’ve been worried about long-term use of H2 blockers. I take omeprazole, and I’d love to cut down but if I miss a dose I can’t keep down my food. My doctor says the pill is less of a risk than the daily upchuck, but I wish it were possible to find a different solution.
Lisa – Your mom sounds like a character! I can just imagine her presenting that trophy to the offender of the year.
Carol – Thank you for keeping us posted on any donation efforts. Do you have an address where we could send a card to Gloria’s family?
Blueyedgurl – Welcome to the group! Those are some beautiful blue eyes in your profile photo.
SkipperCami – And welcome to you to! This is such a supportive group.
I’m still kind of stunned by the news about our Gloworm, and heartbroken for her family. We may not have met, but you all feel like friends and I care about you.
All the Christmas talk is reminding me that we need to make plans. We try to make a visit to each of our families in December, and to rotate where we spend Christmas day between them. But that’s kind of fallen apart in recent years… we haven’t always been afford to board the animals, which makes it hard to travel. This year I think we’re due in Houston with Dad and my siblings, and we can probably take the dog with us and find someone to feed the cats and birds. That’s assuming Philip can even get the time off. It’ll be interesting, though, because my sister’s cat hates dogs and he absolutely terrorizes Luna.
Well, I think I smell quiche so I’d better wind this up for the night.
‘Night, everybody.

Good evening ladies!
You are all so amazing! How you keep track of everyone's name, and what's happening with them....I don't know how you do it, I can't even remember what I ate for dinner last night! What a week this has been! Hubby is getting ready for deer season, so I go with him, setting up tree stands, and game camera's. That man had me climbing up ledges, and walking Rocky trails in the rain. I have three pedometers, and could only find batteries for one, wouldn't you know, the one I have batteries for only registers about half the steps I take. I wonder...is there an app for that?!
I've not been able to drink my 78 ounces of water daily, I'm getting about 64 ounces, but that's more than I've ever gotten before. I have been able to get 30+ minutes of exercise a day, and that's pretty awesome, because I'm a couch potato! I have not stepped on my scale in two weeks, I just keep forgetting, but my jeans are getting a bit baggy!
Barbie I love the new color of your house, and can't wait to see your photos of it all finished! Beautiful!!
Terry Your earrings are beautiful, I love the second one, is that called a helm weave, or Celtic weave? Winter in Vermont, ahh yes I remember last winter well, we lost two huge branch on our sugar maple. I'm sure you get more snow than us here in NH. My mom lives in Saxons River, that's about an hour from me, and she gets much more. We haven't seen a lot of color on the trees around here...yet, but a few swamp maples are all red!
Katla Yes, it does seem like, health wise I've been "circling the drain", but it all happened within the last 20 years. The only heath issues I had before that was 23 years ago I had a battle with addiction....and I won. Come to think of it....I've been with my hubby for 20 years, hmm...
Lenora I was wondering about that. I have a big mug of hibiscus tea in the morning, most mornings I don't put anything in it, so it's just water, and hibiscus. I also like the Sparkling Ice, I love the crisp apple, and black cherry, but the black cherry has way to much red dye in it!
Heather I read somewhere that you should drink half you weight in water daily, but my PCP said if I can get 6 - 8 eight ounce glasses a day, she'd be happy with that. I never was a water drinker, it was coffee, and Monster...yuck! That stuff is like drinking poison!
M in OZ I too, have been dying my hair for years, started when I was in high school, but I stopped coloring it two years ago. I wanted to see what my natural color was....it's salt & pepper. So, I made a promise to myself, when I get my weight down to 150 or lower, I get to color my hair! Hubby even said he wouldn't mind if I colored it lavender! I guess he remembers when I left the dye on to long, and my hair was a dark redish-purple. The kids thought I was a "cool-mom", but it was such a wild color, and when the sun hit it, it was dark purple! My mom's hair is snow white! I hope mine gets that way, then I can do any color!
Janetr Wow! Such talent! Your ornaments are so beautiful! When my daughter as young, we would make salt dough ornaments. Spending hours painting them every night till Christmas, we even got her daddy to paint a few! She is 25 now, and expecting her first child in April.
So, I really had no idea, what you put in your stomach, had such an impact in the rest of your body. I know, you are what you eat, but honestly a goodie once in a while never hurt me in the past. I was feeling really good, had lost some weight, stomach issues are much better, and I've been out hiking every day. I can tell you this, it doesn't matter how active I am, I eat ice cream, I feel horrible the next day. I had a small french fry from McDonald's, two days later I had a big ol' zit on my chin! OH... let's not forget the homemade cinnamon rolls I made for the hubby, Man-Oh-Man....I feel like a slug with no balance! And so, that's where I will start my goals for September.
* Eat more healthy foods, like fish, fruit, veggies, and no more goodies! If I want a goodie, I'm going to have a apple, or homemade garlic kale chips.
* Clean out my closet, those baggy jeans that no longer fit, are going to Goodwill. I can FINALLY get into a size 8!
* Get my butt upstairs, and in bed, with the TV off before 1am!
* Clean & organize my craft room.
Have a wonderful weekend ladies! Tiffanie in NH6 -
Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening Friends,
Rye, I loved the image you shared with Wendy and her running rabbit adventure. Thanks for the smile.
Wendy, trust me, you are Superwoman’s Sister as far as I’m concerned. Many of us would show you what a turtle really runs like. (or a bird?) Keep up the great work.
Beth, I sure think a pants outfit would be good for the wedding. I have worn some in the past.
Lisa, great instructions on how to post things here.
Kelly, Jouquin is sooo cute. Really young for a Party Animal, but glad he enjoyed.
CarolGA, I don’t know any other way to read the FB post about Gloria. That is so sad!!!! (later) I am somewhat in shock. We will really miss her. She was such a dear and she’s been with us a long time.
Lisa, your mother sounds like a jewel. The trophy is such a great idea. Lol
Blueyedgurl, welcome. This is a great place for support and information so come often. Please sign each post with the name you want to be called and a location, general or specific. It makes it easier for us to respond.
Cami, you are in! And welcome. Please tell us a little about yourself to help us get to know you and sign your posts with the name you want to be called. Come often.
Terry, I hope you have a wonderful trip. I think most of us still track our food when on vacation. For me it’s even more important then as my diet will vary so much.
Vicki, thanks for the feedback on the copper pans. Yes, I am very careful about my pans and so upset that my DD has ruined the one. I only use plastic or wooden utensils and was by hand, not in the dishwasher. Glad you like yours.
Meg, take a deep breath and keep breathing. So sorry for the chaos. I’m sending soothing vibes your way. (((Hugs))))
Tiffany, I laughed reading about what you are like if you eat a goodie. Lol As far as keeping up with everyone, it takes time. It also is nice when people sign their posts so you only have to remember their name and not their screen name. My name is actually Janet but when Janetr joined us a couple of years ago, I changed to DJ because I had been called that before. It just makes it a bit easier. In fact, I often have a response for someone but don’t post it because I don’t know who they are other than some strange screen name. lol
to all the Newbies. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
Ladies, I am just so saddened at the news about Gloria. Again it just reminds me of how I feel about most of you and how important you have become to me. Please all take care of yourselves and have a good night.
Sending love, good thoughts and cool sunshine to all of you.
I Love you

It was a good day here. I made chili like my father taught me. I don't get it quite right but it is good enough to eat. He had 3 different soups he made and they are the things I cook that are the best comfort foods. I am trying to teach my son about his grandparents and hope I can tell him enough that he will have some fond stories of them. I will not be teaching him to cook squirrels, liver/onions, or fried tomatoes. We make my grandmother's deviled eggs, and if he ever learns to like mashed potatoes I can teach him those. I wish I had paid more attention to her baked banana pudding and corn pudding but I guess those are so caloric it is just as well.
I am sorry to hear of Gloria's accident. I just can not think of a right thing to say. At church, they say God has a plan but how can such a thing be part of a plan?
I had to laugh at the post about the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I never thought much of the Mormons until I married one. And I bet my notions about Catholics are way off, too!
Today, I exercised. You know I try to every day and have been very lucky to have only missed some sort of exercise 1 time in the past 2 months. But today I thought it went well. I walked/almost ran a bit with son at his running group for 50 minutes! Then we went to the Y and I was tired but I did go in water and wiggle around for 30 minutes. The calorie count wasn't much but I was amazed I could do that long of a time. Of course, I glanced in the mirror of the locker room. I look like a chunky barrel on stick legs with stick arms. My bubble has burst.
Almost the weekend! Where do the days go?5
