Missed a few days and came back to 348 unread posts... You guys are machines! Congrats to all who are killing it this month (there are far too many of you to tag you all, apologies), and warm happy run vibes to all who are a bit in the struggle. I feel like I live in the struggle here lately
I got in a 15 min. run/walk three days last week, hoping to do the same this week! Legs are feeling good and old injury is feeling just fine so I am STOKED.
Happy Monday to all!8 -
My goal for this month was 60 miles, which I set to keep myself running during the week. And I just found out that I already hit it this past weekend. Just thought I would pop in and report

Congrats on the master's win @hjeppley and to your son!
@Skippygirlsmom That is so sweet. I would die of shock if my 20-year-old son ever did something like that. I have trouble getting him to answer my texts lol
Ack, how did I read the whole thread and somehow miss out on the convo about a Connect IQ app @Elise4270 and @7lenny7. Sounds interesting. Hope I can find it back there. The search feature never seems to work well for me.
Went to the gym this morning as I am trying to accustom myself to using the machines. It wasn't even raining out, so I felt a little silly, but it was dark! My foot pod is taking its time getting to me. Hoping to get it this week. Did 39 mins on treadmill, plus a 6 min cool-down walk, and then 15 mins on bike today. Loving the virtual trails. They really make the time pass better. I visited New Zealand on the treadmill and France on the bike (so very Tour de France-y). And I'm appreciating the incline, since I live in such a flat area. Today, I was at 4% quite a bit. That's got to help.

Did not get to run last week due to work schedule. I spent way too much time in a car traveling from one presentation to another. Not going to make goal this month.
This week is another travel week, but I am able to stay overnight at a hotel and made sure they had a fitness center so I have access to a treadmill.

@RunRachelleRun I do the same thing. I swear I read, skim through more than I miss. But always seem to miss something good/interesting/important. I think I found the article/information on DCRainmakers site. Bet Google will find it Too.1
-
Remember those races where your GPS dropped out and left you short distance and stole a legit PR from you? There's a fix if you have a Garmin. All hail Garmin!!!
"The app will automatically re-align to the nearest mile/kilometer marker" Here. Don't worry its just DCRainmaker's article explaining how to get it.
DH okayed the 935. Now I just gotta get the "when", prob after we pay the brick guy. See, he just bought a new truck so I have a bit of leverage.
Hope this widget helps!
Here it is @RunRachelleRun Of course this is just another example of how little I absorb reading, since I misunderstood. But that's what @7lenny7 (and others) is for. y'all keep me on track.3 -
Just been running, working, eating, and sleeping. I've been really lax on here. I'm better at following y'all on Strava. I'm just getting ready for my first marathon. I'm getting really nervous but excited. So here are my goals for my first one.
Primary. Finish it
Secondary. Run the whole way
Tertiary. Sub 4 hour finish
Fourth. Not hate running afterwards ;-)
Hope everyone's having great runs or healing fast!! I'll have to read back and see how everyone's doing.
Oh! Fun fact: I'll be on day 42 of running streak on my 42nd birthday tomorrow! #nerdboner14 -

Happy birthday tomorrow @ctlaws44 ! #nerdboner cracked me up too. And good luck with your marathon. Love the goals!1 -
@RunRachelleRun I can have cake on my half birthday???? Ohhhh man! Pie is my thing... Oh how am I gonna resist pie season. Swimmin' maybe?
Oh you're welcome. My device is not compatible...1 -
I also had a race this weekend. NASA 100 year dash 10k. It took place on NASA Langley and part of Langley AFB. It was a perfect morning with a starting temp of 53F and a little fog. Very flat, fast course! I got to the race later than I wanted to. I had the kids with me (long story). I didn't have much time to warm up. I did a quick 8 minute warm up. The coral was really small (50 feet long X 20 feet wide) for an 800 runner race. It was packed and I didn't want to shove my way up. Plus I wanted to hold back and run this race somewhat easy and not compete with the faster runners I knew I would get sucked into running with. If I tried to run with them I risk getting hurt easier a week before my marathon. So the race starts and it takes about 50 seconds to get to the start line. The race goes pretty good just dodging and weaving through a lot of people. I ended up finishing second in my AG 25th OA which was super surprising.

I'm jealous of his over all coolness.
*Suspiciously states* I don't think you're a nerd *looking' at you discerningly through squinting eyes*3 -

T-minus 12 days! I run my regular weekly miles this week, probably 10 miles on Saturday, then next week taper until (gulp!) the HM on the 4th!
I work best with goals. I'm about to tackle the biggest fitness goal yet. Not sure what I'll do next. I don't have the time right now (or the drive) to start planning a marathon run. But where do I go from here? Faster 5ks or 10ks? Learn how to trail run? My future is a big black hole....9
