I am going to try to keep ramping to 90 miles in November, and also want to plan my spring racing (and figure out if I can crew/pace for a 50 miler my friend is doing). Oh, and do my physical therapy at least 5 days a week!4

In for 500k.9

Still working on a November goal...2

Even though I missed my October goal, I'm in for 70km in November as long as I stick to my training plan and my math is right.4

I'm in for 40kms in November. I'm just getting back into running after an injury and looking forward to being in my first ever running challenge!3

Lmao I mean I could pretend that I cross train5 -

The goal for the half is to finish with a smile on my face. The stretch goal is to break 2:15 and get a PB (previous PB is 2:26).
The goal for the 5k is to beat my husband. His goal is to beat me. He tells me his strategy is to use me as a pace-maker and then blast past me at the finish line. As I will still be recovering from my first half-marathon in five years, I think he has a chance.
@BruinsGal_91 - My coach has addressed this situation. What do you do when you're competing against someone fast who also has a strong finish? You have to push hard early, hoping to bury him so badly that his strong finish doesn't matter at the end. This is my typical race strategy; historically I have not had a good finish line kick, so I just have to run moderately fast long enough that the guys with a good kick are too far behind to catch up.8 -
November goal 152 miles. I’ll be tapering to run a half marathon distance the Saturday after thanksgiving. I’ve already booked a babysitter to watch my kids while I do it
Last month my goal was 173 miles and I went over by 6.88 miles so a total of 178.88 miles! Definitely a monthly mileage PR for me.

@BruinsGal_91 these husbands I tell you! Ben started couch to 5k last week and informed me he'll better my marathon PB of 3:28 by forty minutes by JUNE. He also thinks he will be able to beat my Whistler 50 time by next October. He apparently doesn't think I'm a very good runner
Give him hell and don't doubt yourself. Like Moby I would outpace him in the beginning and develop a solid lead if you can to avoid his finish line shenanigans lol4 -
@MobyCarp @JessicaMcB Yep. I think my plan should be to set off fast and hope he runs out of steam trying to keep up with me.
I'm actually really looking forward to it. It's quite a few years since we've raced together. Just hope we don't do the accidental bib swap.4 -
My first running challenge! October was good to me - I hit 65 miles. Hoping to hit 75 miles for November, even in spite of the holidays.7

Did that recently in a 5k. Too a bit to figure out why I crushed my AG when I was sure some finished ahead of me. Turned out I had my wife's bib and I was more like 5th or 7th or something in my AG.1 -
With Daylight Savings Time coming up we are in the Dreaded Dark Dog ( sorry Kody ) Days of Winter.
Dark going to work and Dark coming home from work.
I will stick with my 140km goal - Stretch to 160km.
You don't realize how much you have going on until you start to jot it down on a calendar.
Adult Swim club 2 nights a week - Tuesday and Thursday. *
Club Run Wednesday - Traditional Shorty to encourage new members to join the fun.
Curling Friday evening.
That leaves me a Monday Evening run after work and Saturday/Sunday Weekend runs.
Four runs a week if everything goes good.
* I guess I could pretend Swim Nights are Triathlon Brick Training and go for a run after - Wet Hair / Body and Winter running somehow seems like a really bad idea.
Hard to get a decent Run in during lunch when you consider time lost for gearing up/down/shower and eating something. We aren't allowed food in our work area due to cross contamination risks and associated OHS rules.8 -
Goal: Set a distance goal.
Events:
Nov 5 – The Bloody Long Walk 35 km walk
Nov 12 – Local event, either HM run or 10 km run

Enjoyed participating last month. I'm in for 350 km. Trying to be consistent. Onwards and upwards :-)6
-
I'll try for 20 miles. I'm not typically a runner, but would like to start adding more cardio to my routine.4
-
I'm in for 80km. I may still meet my 100km goal for October but with the weather here slowly getting colder I know I won't want to go outside as much and the elliptical isn't as good as actual running.3
