@juliet3455 a buddy of mine from way back had SAD. He sat under a sunlamp most days of the year. Hopefully, the light therapy works for you!0

All either of us could remember at the end of the examination was that his name was Mark, he had light brown hair and blue eyes you could just drift off into......cant remember any of the actual tests she had.
Omg I had the same experience! Never have I been one to buy in to the dreamy guy. Ugh they are always do full of themselves and never really that good looking. I just listened to him explain my post procedure care and I was was butter. Just gazing in to his hypnotic features that were so welcoming and the sound of his voice had me entranced like a sirens victim.
I remember wondering can he tell that I'm goo? I felt warm like butter left out in the sun. Are his words even getting to my brain? Green eyes. Oh that short dark red hair, and was that shirt coral? Beautiful natural complexion. And wasn't girly pretty. Idk what happened to me. I totally lost myself 5 seconds into his gaze. It's not even sexual. Just mesmerized in awe. Wonder if it was a reaction to the contrast...1 -

Sooo, HM race was today and body and mind felt both strong to achieve something good. So I started good, determined to break my PR and score time below 1:50. First kiliometers literaly flushed, preserving a pace of 5.06/km up until 16k. Last 5k and I thought I was gonna make it but... A genltly uphill slope lasted for 2k killed me. I saw my pace drop big time and my body was ready to break in 1000 pieces. As a result I failed to reach my target time. But I broke my HM PR by 2 minutes! Have a strong start is not a good idea, next time I will be more carefull and preserve some energy for the following kms.

Stay hydrated!

@NikolaosKey sorry you didn't hit your target time but a new PR by 2 minutes... Wow! That's a great accomplishment!1

6 miles for me last night. I wanted to trail run but it was too late to get there and back so I hit the pavement. My meniscus continued to be an issue so I cut back from my intended 8 miles.
No pain at all this morning while I drink my coffee so I think after my next cup I'll head out to the trails. Rather than my usual hilly trails I'm going to go where I took my kids on Thursday, with gentle rolling hills.

Well, I wasn't intending to do 10 mi today but just kept shuffling along, and my attempted rendezvous with my 9 year old at 10 K was a fail (he came out in jeans and his puffy jacket) so I had to pick him up after another 5K lap. Hamstrings and quads still really hurt from the weights on Friday. Did I say before I need to do more weights? I may regret today's run next Saturday on the big hills in the 10 mi "fun run" trail race, but we'll see. At least I am closer to my 90 mi goal for the month! I plan to do a lot of foam rolling and a bit of PT before bed tonight.
Goals this month: Do 1 shorter race, plan for spring racing (register for 2 races), 90 mi total
Day/Distance/Comments
11/1 Walked outside for 45 min + did my PT
11/2 Ran 3.5 mi + walked 0.75 mi + PT
11/3 Fail (intended to run but ran out of time before leaving town)
11/4 Walked while out of town
11/5 Ran 10 mi + stretched
11/6 Water walked + stretched and foam rolled a bit
11/7 Ran 3.5 mi + walked a bit
11/8 Walked outside + getting back on track with PT
11/9 Ran 5 mi + walked 1 mi + PT
11/10 Water walking for 45 min
11/11 Ran 6 mi
11/12 Ran 9 mi + walked 1 mi
11/13 Rest (planned to walk later but never got the time)
11/14 Rest (on my feet all day for lab, intended to run but ran out of time/energy)
11/15 Ran 3 mi and walked a little bit
11/16 Ran 5 mi and walked 1 mi, PT
11/17 Water walked for 1 h + PT
11/18 5K race + extra 0.5 mile
11/19 Ran 11 mi + walked 1 mile + PT
11/20 Water walking
11/21 Rest day
11/22 Rest day (again!) but still feeling pretty spent
11/23 5K race (2nd in my AG!)
11/24 Water walking, walking + strength workout
11/25 10K slow run (+ trail maintenance) + yoga class
11/26 10 mi + extensive stretching + a little PT
Goal: 90 mi
Total: 78.8 mi
To go: 11.2 mi

Hi All -
I did not fall off the face of the earth but have been traveling way too much. So much that I haven't kept up here, I haven't seen my trainer in a month and I will have the lowest non-injury mileage month since I started running. I am off again in the morning for another week in Montreal, hopefully my last for the year. I have been getting a lot of walking in, around airports and a mile each way from my hotel to the meetings in Montreal. It is cold there but felt good to be out in it compared to the heat here at home where we have been in the 90s and breaking records. As soon as I get home this next week my husband is going to take me up to the wine country for a few days of running and relaxing and of course wine-ing.
I won't make my (lowered) goal again this month and while understandable it does not make me happy at all. I have a HM on the 15th and I do not feel prepared. It is my legacy race and the 5th year. It is a great course, overall downhill to the beach, and an easy one to PR. I don't think there will be a PR for me but I will run it and I may walk some of it but I will finish it one way or another.

I had a great holiday. Both my kids came in with their SOs. We had a great time. After my son and his girlfriend left this morning I went for my usual Sunday run. I only went 7.5 miles today, but it was good. The weather was great. I was a little tired, but I
managed to have a decent (for me) pace. It was really good just to get back to my routine. Sounds like there was lots of great racing and running the last few days.

It was hovering just above freezing today, but not too bad overall. A few snowflakes here and there but I got out for a walk in the morning and a run this afternoon. I hate to see the end of the Thanksgiving week break, it's been nice.
I signed up for the Key West Half Marathon today! It's January 14. I was going to do St. Pete's Beach instead (same date) because the cost was a bit less, but decided I have never been to Key West so why not.7 -

Today's notes- After yesterday's harder than I thought it would be, speed session, today's 2 hour run was pretty rough. Went to the State Park, because my primary location was closed, a fact I discovered only after getting there! I hit the trails hoping to get in like 10 miles, 12min/mile average, something that wouldn't be hard on the relatively flat XC trails, but I was just thrashed today, and it was a lot harder than I would have liked.
I ended up with 10.6 miles for an average pace of 11:17 and total elevation of 717.... Like I said, pretty flat. Overall, I'm not too disappointed though, since my average pace was decently faster than my goal pace. Just wasn't feeling it today and hoping that some of it was just the travel on Wednesday and the 3 days of family fun this weekend that contributed to the difficulty.
Hope everyone had a Runderful day!

Big Hary Audacious Goal: Sub 4 hours in Pittsburgh 2018!
Official Marathon PR: 4:11:28
Next Races (more as I find them):
12/02/17 - Santa 5k
05/06/18 - Pittsburgh Marathon - aiming for sub four hours.
05/12/18 - Glacier Ridge 50k Trail Ultra (or maybe 30K Still debating)
2020 - Disney World Dopey! (if can raise funds)
Today was colder, upper 30s when I started but sunny so I headed down toward the steeper hills. At once place there is a 20% grade (as reported by Strava -all I know it is a challenge to run up at any kind of real pace). Came in at 11 miles cause my bare hands were not doing well as the sun set. So bunch more steep hill work, but slower (9:58) pace. Total elevation is not as much as it could have been, did not do all the hills, just the worst ones.2 -
11/4 2.35
11/5 3.0
11/13 2.5
11/23 2.6
11/26 3.2
Total 13.65/20
With only a few days to go, probably gonna fall short of my goal again. But I've decided to do a 10K in January so I have my next 7 weeks planned. Debating a 7k trail race in December. I feel like racing again and want to do them all. LOL
We had a record high of 89 degrees today. I'm tired of record highs...4
