Sharon, don’t put your head in the sand. If it walks and talks like a duck,it’s a duck. Sounds to me like you had a feeling he was cheating. Now that it’s confirmed, respect yourself enough to move on. I know it will be hard but others have done it and so can you. And don’t beat yourself up over checking his emails. You had to know and that was what you needed to do. I’m sorry your marriage has not turned out as you would have hoped, but it takes two and you are missing one of the two. (((HUGS)))3

Yesterday,a neighbor stopped in to see our new heat/AC regulator.Anyway,he mentioned DH said I had some type of
On line infection. He looked & said it almost surely came from FB.He works as a specialist with such stuff.
DD talked me into signing up for FB,but never thought to use it.Was just “there” in list of apps.
Run Malwarebytes on your phone and computer. That should take care of any "viruses".
Also don't click on clickbait, ads, links in emails, etc.

Sorry to hear your having puppy problems. We brought ours to vet before Christmas last year thought he was on his last legs. An xray and a few pills from the vet. He had a gut infection. Fortunatly he's sill with us

My apple peeler comes with corer and slices the apples. Making it easy to make apple pies.
Apples heaped a couple tsp. butter cinnamon and brown sugar yummy.

Well it's on to a good day for me today. As for those who remember I have a sister who is bi polar. I placed her in nursing home but unfortunately she's a two hour drive from home. He son drove by there yesterday and brought her home for New Years. So she's here with me until the 2nd. She's doing good.

I need an office assistant just to file paper for me. And I'd really like someone to scan it all so I can get rid of it!!

Sharon, After reading Gretchen Rubin's book "The Happiness Project", I made my own list of "Happiness Commandments". Among them are "Act the way you want to feel" and "Don't take things personally".
I just discovered that although I have the list posted on the fridge, I don't have a copy on my computer so in the spirit of my commandment "Do it now", I'm going to copy them into a computer file this morning so I can copy and paste them on a reply and share all of them with you later.

Hi all,
Just got back from my meal with my new yoga friend. Had one small glass of wine with LOADS of soda, a carrot soup and scallops with chorizo and pea puree. (Starter portion) No carbs.
Nice chat with my friend, who I think I have persuaded to go on a Christmas cruise next year! (She lives alone)
This morning my cancer friend rang me!!! Thank goodness. I asked her to give me the number of her best local friend so I don't have sleepless nights worrying about her. We had a nice long chat. She has got to make an informed decision about whether to go through another round of chemo. She is seeing the consultant again on Thursday and hopes to get some sense out of her. No one seems to be blunt enough. She has a possible chemo session scheduled for the following Monday, so I said I would go up there to be with her whether she is having it or not. If not we can just socialise.
With regards to husbands putting on radios, tvs etc. We have a rule in this house that we only have on in the shared space what we both want to watch. If it is something only one wants then they go elsewhere to listen/watch. I never put on the radio without first checking with him and vice versa. If I really want to listen /watch I use my tablet and Bluetooth headphones. It is just common courtesy. It is a form of assault to occupy someone else's space with unwanted noise. I would sit down with them at some mutually agreed time to have a proper discussion about it and tell them how it makes you feel. They are supposed to love and care for you, not disregard your wishes! These days it is totally unecessary to ruin other people's peace and personal space with noise as there are so many other options. Care and consideration are an essential element in marriage. I like Gretchen Rubin's "Happiness at Home" for some other ideas.

A few weeks back a recipe came across the MFP newsfeed for Protein Packed Pancakes. Have any of you tried it? It looked delicious so I tried it this morning. Yuk! Yuk! Yuk! I couldn’t finish mine. I have another serving in the fridge for tomorrow, but I’m seriously considering throwing it in the trash. I’d much rather have an omelet with veggies. The recipe was basically flour, eggs, Greek yogurt, a little sugar and vanilla.2

I think I'm going to try making another apple pie for tomorrow. I do need to go to WalMart. Need to buy the meat, etc. for tomorrow. Also want to use the few coupons that will expire at the end of the year.

Linda - I have an apple corer that also cuts the apples into segments, is that what you mean? Then I would chop up the segments. The corer I got just takes out the core. Haven't totally figured out how it works, tho. I have a slicing attachment for my food processor so I might do that. That's how Amanda cuts up her apples.
I was thinking of making the gingerbread cookie recipe that M posted, but I decided not. We have enough cookies that I'd like to finish up just in case the pie doesn't turn out.

Happy Saturday everyone, we have light snow falling, looks so pretty I could just watch it from the coziness of my couch. Won't have to drive in it, so of course, I love it! I am taking the day to do my typical New Year's eve purge of all cluttered papers and will tackle the spare room. It turns into a depository for things we don't want and a staging area for all the holiday bips and bobs, ribbons and bows. I am not ready to part with the tree yet, probably next weekend, so for now I will just rearrange the spare room debris into something more presenatable. Starting a morning stretching routine today and will carry on with it for the new year, as my word for 2018 is S T R E T C H

Is there anything you can put in flowers to keep them fresh? We don't have aspirin since Vince can't take it. A friend gave me some flowers for Christmas Eve, and I'd like to keep them as long as possible. Most of the flowers by now have seen better days, but there are two that are still decent.

Getting a bit reflective as the New Year Approaches.
I'd read a book by Karla MaLaren called Emotional Genius ( now our of print) years ago. She has a newer book called the Language of Emotions. It is an update of the previous book. She goes into quite a bit a detail and in an ideal world many of her ideas make sense. Being able to carry then out is another issue.
The big take away for me is that emotions are messengers. What ever the emotion is be it happiness, anger, sadness, joy they all have a place in your life and are to be honored. Anger often warns you a boundary is broken or threatened. Sadness is response to letting something go. Joy is something to be celebrated. Joy does need to be grounded otherwise it can be too overpowering.
My other take away is healthy emotions are like a healthy diet. Too much of any strong emotion can send me off balance. Listening to my emotions and using them as the tools they are meant is what I want to work on for the new year. The word Grace comes to mind as I reflect on this. I also like to reread the Guest House by Rumi:
The Guest House

some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,

Pat posted advice of staying away from negative people. For me my goal is when I encounter someone who is being negative is to not let them throw me off balance. I have made this comment before. Some people gain a false sense of power when they know they get you upset. As I say to students do not let them have your power. The interesting thing about people like this either they will go away on their own because they know they cannot get to you or they want you in their lives because they do find it refreshing to find someone who can stand up to them. I call it a false sense because they are not gaining power from their own inner work, but by manipulating others.
Then there are the ones that radiate chaos wherever they go. They do not intentionally mean to disrupt your world but they do. I find when I encounter people like these. I purposely strengthen my boundaries. Just like the negative person sometimes I am able to maintain a relationship with this person sometimes not.

Thank you for letting me join your group. I feel as if I know you all personally, what a lovely lot of ladies you all are! Briefly, I was divorced for the second time in April and now live alone in a comfortable rented apartment. I have 3 lovely daughters from my first marriage. 3 granddaughters and 4 grandsons. All live very close to me. My dear old Dad is 91 and now lives in a care home. He has Parkinson's and dementia but he still knows us all, thankfully.
I have a few hobbies, crochet, knitting and painting with watercolours. Am not very good at the painting tho!10 -
Hi I'm back to logging my food again. It took me a while to find the group, couldn't quite remember the name, but I found you. I recognise a few names, but lots of new ones too.
I'm going to take early retirement in March/April next year so hopefully will have more time to keep in touch with everyone. In the meantime I hope you don't mind if I lurk and post every now and then.

Karen, welcome to our friendly community. I have been knitting since I was a child and have taken it up more seriously since I retired. Since I made the decision to be more active, I thought I wouldn't knit as much and then I found out that I could knit and ride my recumbent exercise bike at the same time so now I knit, ride the bike, and watch TV with my husband all at the same time.
