Warehouse sale papers all signed, all scanned and sent, and one page needed to be re-sent. And the original is in FedEx. I would say it would arrive there tomorrow, but knowing Fort Stockton as I do, having lived there for seven years all told, I'm thinking we'll be lucky if it's there on Monday. It really is 90 miles from, well, anywhere. The title company will direct deposit the money straight to my bank account (yay!) and by mid-next week, all done and dusted. Breathing all kinds of sighs of relief, and even more once the money's IN the account (I'm such a cynic). Which reminds me, I need to call and get flowers sent to my real estate agent. She did a great job.

Re: drinking my calories. I only drink my calories when I'm FAR off the reservation, dietwise, and only Icees, a kind of frozen American concoction that probably wouldn't be popular in Britain. Otherwise, tea, coffee and water. Don't drink any form of carbonation--have tried a time or two since the gastric bypass surgery, and it feels like I'm having a heart attack almost immediately with the pressure. Not pleasant. Don't drink alcohol, not because I have objections, it just never tasted good to me. In my youth, I would drink the super sweet umbrella-fied drinks, daiquiris and such, but now, it just doesn't occur to me, so I don't.

I have, however, recently been able to get Meyer lemons very cheaply at our local Walmart, which have about 25 calories per lemon, rather than the 10 for a regular one. Half of one squeezed over the ice tastes AMAZING in iced tea. I've never liked lemon in tea, it was like drinking acid, in my estimation. But that little extra sweetness in the Meyer is well worth the few extra calories.

For those of you who are true believers that you can't count tea and coffee for your liquids, please note, I'd be dead if they didn't act as liquids. I drink weak versions of both, two 12-oz cups of coffee in the morning, and then iced tea all day long... Hot tea on occasion in the wintertime, and usually hot tea at a restaurant. I'm also aware that tea can cause or exacerbate kidney stones, and OK with that. I get a stone about every ten years or so, and as long as I'm alert to the symptoms, can ramp up the hydration, drink a big bottle or two of diet cranberry juice (which I hate, but it's worth it) and flush them on through. Have done that with the last two.

I do love getting older and actually KNOWING my body instead of just living in it like a renter. I can't say I always AGREE with my body, but I do know it pretty well.

Ah... I'm nattering. Finally relaxed after weeks of worrying about this!

Started the day with a hair appointment, then errands to the bank, recycling, and district office. Then I went to the dermatologist for my yearly body check. She biopsied two places, one scratch near my smallpox vaccination scar that has been stubborn about healing, and another random brown patch on my right calf. She also did some cosmetic zaps of three places on my face and three on my arms. Then I went to the dealership to get my car serviced. No gym or walk. My plan was to walk while I was getting my car serviced, but my cheek was hurting from the zap so I didn’t. Still no tile guy. I have an appointment tomorrow for a design consultation, but that store doesn’t do installations. She said she would give me a list of contractors, somebody, somewhere, wants this job, I would think.

Heather looks like your Burns Night was quite fun! You are such a great hostess! As we say, the hostess with the mostest! Learning the art of hosting a great party/get together is definitely a lost art. Many young people do not understand the concept. When we stayed at my son and DILs apartment, I took it upon myself to cook dinner, for they hadn't planned anything. Then, when I made my son's favorite dessert (fluffy tapioca), his wife didn't bother/ or wish to learn to make it. She doesn't care for it. There are many items I make for my husband that I don't particularly like, but because he enjoys it, I make it. I don't understand the younger generation!
