SW 66.1
GW 63
1/28 65.5kg out to lunch and managed to keep food and wine under control to stay stable at least. 9km walk.
1/29 65.5 20min run, 20 min row, strength work. No alcohol during the week.
1/30 65.5kg argh scales not moving. Gym, weights, half hour swim. Eating within calorie range. Frustrated.
1/31 65.2kg It moves! Early cross trainer and then on the road travelling. Feeling good without midweek drinking.
1/1 64.7kg it moves again! Went for a jog, a walk and a swim. Love this group and what it’s doing for me.
2/1 64.7kg Away from home and not in my usual territory. Swim, short jog and walk. A little looser with my calories today, not so extreme. Still just over 1000. First glass of wine for the week.
2/2 64.9kg argh. Swings and roundabouts I guess. Walk and planning a swim later on. Lots of gardening and see how we go.
2/3 64.4kg feeling good, jog in the morning, then driving 4 hours.
2/4 64.5kg weights session, swim and sitting at a desk most of the day. Feeling good about keeping on track.
2/5 65.5 usually weigh myself first thing but forgot and drank a bottle of water so not a benchmark. Oh well. Feeling like a bit of plateau happening.

I didn't do as well in January as I hoped. This process is really an exercise in patience.
01/29: 155.5
I went to a yoga class tonight that I found quite challenging. I'm proud of myself for doing pretty well, I'm mostly new to yoga.
01/30: 154.5
Likely be up again tomorrow, I had a big dinner out with all the sodium. But, I hiked and went for a run today so overall it was a good day for progress, it just won't show up on the scale right away, I'm sure.
01/31: 156.5
I felt like today was a good day, but I still went over my planned calories.
02/01: 158.5
Groan. TOM may be part of it. Gave in to doughnuts at work today after being sugar free most days in Jan, so tomorrow's weigh-in is going to be bad, too.

01/28: 130.8
Hey, I’ll take it. *\o/*
01/29: 131.6
We ate out yesterday and I had a chocolate brownie (worth it!) plus I weighed myself before going *ahem* number 2, to be delicate. So I will be better hopefully tomorrow.
01/30: 131.6
Guess I’m just having a fluke or something because I did everything right yesterday. I do feel a little bloated so I will be drinking more water today. *shrug*
01/31: forgot to weigh but overate
02/01: 131.6
Rough day yesterday. My sprained ankle was feeling like it wasn’t healing right, so I went to the doctor. It turns out I’ve been walking around with a fracture for a month, and because of the location it’s going to take at least 2 months to heal. Good news though is that it will be less likely to roll from now on, as my muscles are having to overcompensate for the weakness and now they will be stronger (according to doc). Also, woke up this morning and I’m pretty sure I have the flu.
02/02: 131.0
Maybe being tired and ill has made my appetite go down. Regardless I’m down some. I have a reading tonight so this will me feel a little better about myself standing in front of a bunch of people (ok probably only 20 will show up, but still).
02/03: forgot to enter the weight, but it was 130.9
02/04: 130.8
Yesterday I ate TERRIBLY. Actually it wasn’t that bad compared to the family members I was hanging out with, who are all extremely obese and/or morbidly obese (which is fine except they aren’t trying to do anything about it). It usually takes 2 days for the results of my poor eating decisions to show up, so we will see how I am tomorrow. Fortunately/ unfortunately, I had to do a lot of walking (so I burned a few cals) as my husband and I were on the hunt for the perfect set of new dinnerware, which took us at least 10 stores to find. By the end of the day my fractured ankle was killing me and today I will be icing it and resting :’-(
02/05: 131.4
Woke up to weight gain...I was out late with some friends last night and we ate late at a gastropub. I don’t drink (because soooo many xtra cals) but I definitely pounded back a brownie. On the flip side: I woke up to find out that I’m being published in the 25th anniversary edition of one of my favorite art and lit mags!

Day/Weight/Comment
01/28 - 97.8 Ate within calorie limit, but as is the case with every weekend, I'm not as strict on sodium intake
01/29 - 99.4 - Yikes! The salt I'm sure, but not just - yesterday was a hard day resisting food
01/30 - 99 - From what I've learned from these past challenges is that it generally takes 3 days to undo salt damage for me. The only difference food wise is that I've increased my healthy fats - i'm flirting with the idea of a keto diet but since I know absolutely nothing about it, im doing research first. Tips and pointers appreciated though01/31 - 98.6 - Soooo slow coming back down. I really cannot let my guard down on weekends
02/1 - 97.9 - Back on track!
02/2 - 98 - all on track, a little low on the water but food was ok
02/3 - 98.2 - Under calorie and water goal. I hate the weekend weight creeps feels like tomorrow will be up again. It's weird, up until now I used the "If you ate like today in five weeks you'd weigh..." as a gage... If it says 92.5 and up, the likelihood is I'm going to register a gain... anything lower is a loss. But yesterday's number was 90 and I registered a gain... meh!
02/4 - 98.4 - Would LOVE for once not to register a gain on weekends! This is plain ridiculous. I didn't even have anything which would cause this gain... Not yesterday, not the day before. Under my calorie goal, over my water goal. A little salt in a lamb tajine but come on! At least it's only 400g but still grrr
02/5 - 98.2 no comment about the yo-yo effect
02/64 -
Long-term Focus: In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
Still focused on losing my holiday baggage.
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs. Lose 1lb per round.
to Round 30
This has given me a motivational element of daily accountability.
Observations, and Previous Rounds
Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

** Round 30 **
Female, 5'5"
Starting Weight: 82.3 kg (181.44 lbs)
Goal Weight: 64 kg (141.1 lbs)
I’ve just seen this thread and hopefully this will motivate me a little more! My heart is in it but not sure I am doing enough? Just had a baby 6 months ago and I am desperate to get back to my pre-baby weight! I thought I ate healthy throughout it all but obviously not! Eek! Clearly all the pregnancy yoga and swimming did more damage than good! Ha!
My GW for this round: 81 kg; or 178 lbs (not sure if that’s realistic? But what the hell let’s give it a whirl!)
Can I work in kg?!
01/28 * 82.3 kg * hadn’t seen the thread, probably somewhere eating bread (eek!)
01/29 * 82.3 kg * Did a low intensity cardio workout, although I am able to train a little more now since having the little one, I still am not fit enough to hit a high intensity training session yet. (Slowly but surely!) Overall, including exercise, consumed under daily calorie allowance.
01/30 * 81.9 kg * I always weigh myself in the mornings so here we go. Positive, must be my low intensity workout! Ha out today, must resist temptation to grab a coffee!
01/31 * 81.5 kg * yaaaaas! Serious calorie controlling yesterday and took the dog for a walk. Feel like today’s going to be one of those hungry days.. eek! Today’s going to be my gym night so I need to smash it to keep up the momentum!
02/01 * 81.3 kg * feeling like an absolute legend!! Treated myself to a few carbs yesterday as my body needed it but it pushed out a steady pace workout last night which made it all the more worth it!
02/02 * 80.9 kg * okay now I just feel like I am making things up! This is my best week yet.. how? Probably helps that it’s an early morning weighing! Had lunch at a friends and was convinced I had ruined the momentum. Maybe it will hit in a few days? Weather was horrifying last night so let the husband take out the pup and treated myself to a full on rest day.
02/03 * 80.8 kg* I’ve been hit by the sodded cycle! Urgh. I am afraid I am going to need pizza to get me through this weekend but I will keep within my calorie intake!!
02/04 * 81.9 kg * urgh! There’s a combination of things here, the coffees, the large pizza (hangs head in shame) and the vicious womanly cycles! Just as I was doing so well! No worries, today is a new day I am just going to have to smash it! Watch this space!
02/05 * 81.4 kg * okay positive! One day left so here goes! Smashed the training yesterday but my lunch let me down.. serious calories per meatball!
02/06 * 80.8 kg * kicked my monthlies and made my GW. Did an hour yesterday outdoors mod paced walk with the pooch - she’s looking rather slender if I don’t say so myself!
Bring on round 31!!!! And well done everyone!!!7 -

Day/Weight/Comment:
01/28: (no weight) - So I went out and got a bit bevved on Saturday so spent most of Sunday hungover hugging the sofa, I still ate within my calories but I didn't manage to drag myself onto the scale haha.
01/29: 122.1kg/269.2lbs - Yeah I'll take this, imagine there is some beer weight still floating around in me. Back to the gym today and ready to smash this week again. Aiming for another 2/3lbs loss however my scales are being very indecisive, may have to look at investing in a new one.
01/30: 120.7kg/266.1lbs - YESSS, my lowest weight in a long time. Starting to wear shirts I haven't in a long time, it's a great feeling. Meal preps for lunch still going strong with 2/3ltrs of water a day and gym 4 times a week.
01/31: 120.8kg/266.3lbs - I know it's nice seeing a drop but stability is key too, more than happy to stay in the 120s for a few days, I am expecting a big drop soon though. Cardio today, managed to run 5k the last couple of weeks but really want to push myself and get closer to 7.5k and edge my way towards 10k. Onward and *DOWNWARD*.
02/01: 121.0kg/266.7lbs - Forget what I said yesterday, I WANT A DROP PLEASE. I had a late night and skipped cardio as my legs are still sore from Tuesday. Back to the gym tonight and probably another late night as the other half is working late. I know I'm on a loss overall this round but I could really do with the boost of seeing some numbers drop - still dreaming of sub 120kg.
02/02: 121.0kg/266.7lbs - It's not an increase?! Thought I could use today to tell you all a little more about me, I work a sedentary job in York, England. I have always been that heavy kid in school, however I have always been fairly tall so manage to hide it somewhat well. Played a lot of rugby as a kid/teen and rowed a lot at university and these both saw my weight fluctuate massively, I even shifted 50lbs in one summer (3months) which crept back on over the following year. I made it my goal on boxing day (didn't want to wait till 1st of Jan) to try to make a lifestyle change for myself, to help myself become more happy and confident in myself. This is not a diet, a fad or a period of short lived exercise, it is my way of trying to achieve a sustainable and achievable lifestyle.
- Sidenote: Dear body, please drop soon. I'm away this weekend so will not be able to post/weigh in!
02/03: (no weight) Weekend away in Northumberland, went on a long walk along the beach but did have several beers across the weekend with the odd bag of crisps.
02/04: (no weight) Went for a longish walk again but didn't eat the healthiest, it was a weekend break though and I am chasing a sustainable lifestyle, a lifestyle where i can have the odd beer or share a packet of crisps. Amazing weekend overall, I did indulge but not overly so.
02/05: 120.9kg/266.5lbs - Amazing, I dropped even weekend!! I imagine I'm also holding onto some water weight too, so here's hoping for one more drop tomorrow - I am happy overall with the loss this round though.
02/06: 119.3kg/263lbs - WWWHHHHOOOOSH! I had to stand on the scale like 10 times this morning to make sure it wasn't lying to me. I genuinely can not believe it, not to hope that it doesn't bounce back up (it probably will...

In for my ninth round

Round 24 start weight - 147.60
Round 25 start weight - 141.60
Round 26 start weight - 141.90
Round 27 start weight - 146.20
Round 28 start weight - 143.20
Round 29 start weight - 140.90
Round 30 start weight - 137.90
Loss to date - 13.5lbs
Had a great round 29 so hoping it continues - R30 goal is 136lb.....
01/28 138.4lb - unsurprisingly slightly up - yesterday (although not over calories allowance) I spent my whole day at the computer, drinking coffee and too little water and didn't hardly move at all. I'm an accountant and its tax return deadline on Wednesday 31st so really busy. More of the same today too ....... must have more water today if nothing else........
01/29 139.1lb - not unusually I weigh more on a Monday - the usual full Sunday roast and dessert (all in calories just a lot of food concentrated in the evening!). And on top of that the whole weekend spent in front of a computer. So am happy with this especially as still under the 140lbs! No reason this won't be a good week
01/30 139.4lb - not surprised! Caught my kids cough and cold and was up half the night drinking water trying to stop myself coughing so drank loads plus had lemsips and hot drinks! However my calories and macros yesterday were spot on (as was my fluid intake!!) so know this is the scales lying to me
01/31 138.20 - my usual fall on the scales on a Wednesday post weekend. Still not back to my all time low of last week but only by 0.30lb which I'll allow myself as still full of cold so still dosing up on lemsips and cough medicines! Went to the gym last night but not a 100% effort as feel rough - but I went so pleased with that. Will keep drinking plenty, eating sensibly and watch those scales continue to go down! A new month tomorrow and closer to Spring
02/01 139.10lb - up and down this round. Was within my calories again yesterday so can only assume its due to lack of activity (stuck behind computer due to tax return time of year) and feeling rough so been having lemsips and cough pastilles. And to top it off TOM is imminent so feeling bloated. Tax all done now though and hoping cough and cold is on its way out so can only gt better. BUT - I have throughout it all still remained under 140 .......
02/02 138.40lbs - up, down, up, down this round. Maybe my body is adjusting to its new weight? Body fat measurement at the gym last night and gone down 1.80% in January - yay!!!!
Seem to be over the worst of my cold but TOM imminent and I'm away overnight. But all still good as staying under 140lb so all good Got healthy snacks for the 5 hour car journey this evening, will enjoy my hotel breakfast tomorrow with the aim of staying sensible and try to not indulge in take-away rubbish tomorrow. Back to weigh in on Sunday morning again.
02/03 Away overnight - unable to weigh
02/04 137.60lb
02/05 139.70lb - behaved over the weekend when away - weight was down yesterday but back up today (usual Monday morning excess "weight" after the family Sunday roast - ate later yesterday too as had loads of family round for dinner for my parents wedding anniversary. Given my cough and cold all last week as well, diet was ok but exercise wasn't full on so I'm not expecting to finish this round on a record low but staying under 140 makes me very happy! Back to usual today so will be lower tomorrow and then I aim to be back to it fully next round
02/06 137.90lb - down from yesterday as expected and back where I started this round - which is under 140!!!! Been under 140 this whole round and I am very happy with that4 -
2nd Round.
MFP SW 210
R29 SW 189.2 EW 186.6
Focused on making good choices for my overall health.
01/28 184.6 Thankful and curious about the sudden drop the last few days. My weight was slowly going down the last couple of weeks, and now BOOM, the loss shows up. I'll be looking for patterns over the next month. I'm thinking it was water retention during TOM.
01/29 184.2 I worked out hard since I knew I couldn't get to the gym today. (Walk/Run intervals and weight training) I'm expecting these losses to slow down any day now, but I'm hoping not to gain back.
01/30 184.4 Ate A LOT of carbs yesterday- gotta get my veggies in today! Feeling good physically and feeling great about making healthier choices consistently over the last month.
01/31 184.2
02/01 185.2 The end of the month is stressful because of work. Didn't eat enough yesterday, didn't work out, and didn't drink much water! Today will be a great day, though!!
02/02 183.6 Still didn't get in all my calories, but I got close. Headed to the gym. Today won't be so busy, so I should be able to get my water in. Cheers to the weekend!
02/03 185.0 No worries! Macros were way off because I indulged in Tequila and Mexican food (my favs). But I'm ecstatic about jogging 30 minutes straight for the first time in a long time, and I didn't break the calorie bank! “It doesn't get easier; you just get better at it.”
02/04 184.4 This week has been hectic, so I haven't been as diligent in food choices. But I'm feeling well- more energy, less unhealthy cravings, and I'm getting physically stronger. I'm planning to up all my weights next week and will be working on getting my macros on point.
02/05 183.8 I survived Superbowl LII!!
02/06 182.6 3-mile jog and arms in the a.m. Ate back my calories. Only drank water. Long walk in the p.m. to relieve some stress.

This is one woman that's back for more. Thank you @cyranda63 for continuing to create the rounds and make the group. You've been a HUGE support in my weight loss journey. Now, let's do this! "Your body can stand almost anything. It's your mind you have to convince."
OSW: 202
SW: 161
GW:160
UGW: 125
1/28: 159 3 days of making sure my carbs and sodium stay stay within my goal. 3 days of dropping my one pop that I allow myself everyday and substituting it for hot tea, and I show a loss. A 2 lb loss, which appears to be my WHOOSH! Now let's hope it sticks and continues. Yesterday, I threw a surprise 30th anniversary party for my family. I ate well and within my calories. I even skipped the cake I had made for them. It paid off. "Junk food you've craved for an hour, or the body you've craved for a lifetime. Your decision."
1/29: 159 My nephew turned 7 today. We went to his house to celebrate. I once again chose to skip the dessert. Then again, it was red velvet cake, so it wasn't too hard. That stuff is nasty! "Look in the mirror. That's your competition."
1/30: 158.2 It was a crazy day today. It's National Catholic Schools Week, and it kept me hopping at work. I also took my 14-year-old son out for some 1:1 time to dinner. It was really nice. PLUS I found out my 9-year-old son is Student of the Week. "The best project you'll ever work on is you."
1/31: 158.8 I usually eat dinner by 6 p.m., but I had to work until 7:30 last night. It was family day, and all of us teachers honored our parents and students by cooking them a meal and serving them last night. So, I ended up eating late. Dont like the bump up, but it happens. There is one thing I am learning. "The secret of losing weight is patience."
2/1: 158.2 Let me see 158 before the end of this challenge, PUH-LEASE! I know I met my goal already, but I want to get back to my new low. I'm so close. "Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret."
2/2: 158.6 Whiplash! Lol "Don't stop trying just because you hit a wall. Progress is progress no matter how small."
2/3 157.6 I'm really liking this number. Had lunch with my son yesterday. He was chosen as student of the week. I also took my Momma out bowling. I had such fun, but boy, was it a killer on the back. I also bought some new foods to try this week. Hopefully it helps."Be stronger than your excuses."
2/4 158.8 I ate well, stayed within my calories and macros, stayed within the range of carbs I set for myself too, but I didn't drink enough at all. I also ate about 3 or 4 handfuls of movie popcorn because I took my 9-year-old out to see Paddington 2 yesterday. It could have been worse, and when he offered me more, I did say no thank you. OH!!!! I also tried out several new products that I've never had before. I was scared to do it due to my severe food allergies, but I didn't have a single issue. I can now add more things to my list that I can consume. "Losing weight is hard. Being fat is hard. Pick your hard.
2/5 159 I'm really scratching my head here. I totally don't get it. "When you feel like quitting,
think about why you started."
2/6 159 Well, I had my WHOOSH right at the beginning, and even though I weigh the same since the WHOOSH, I did drop 2 lbs in this round and am in my 150s. So, here's to "One pound at a time."
