Me too! It's my birthday month so AF is not realistic. Then again there's always a good reason to have a nice glass of wine!6 -
Pretty good, I crave the clarity of mind and my tea and my time back to me.....its like, dare I say, I have become addicted to not drinking?
@NormInv I love the idea of being "addicted" to not drinking. Nice phrase and it made me think. What a great way to look at it. I never thought I would say I love tea, but I'm getting to that point. Tea and diet ginger ale have made a huge difference in leaving my daily wine habit behind.
Had two glasses of wine last night, a night I'm "scheduled" to drink. Again, eh. I know I keep saying that, so the question is why don't I just quit altogether? Just not sure how to answer that right now. I guess there's still this mystique attached to it, the idea that I love wine and I'll miss it too much if I give it up. But my recent experiences have been so meh with it. I keep wondering why I'm still drinking. Also I had trouble sleeping and woke up with a headache. Doesn't take much wine to get those headaches going these days!

Beat back a craving last night, I was ready to get in the car and head to the store. I went to bed instead.14

Good job! Weekends are tougher....need to plan ahead activities like gym, sauna, run to avoid alcohol....I am planning my evening ahead of time12 -
We are more than half way through February, and I would love to see this thread to keep going. You all have been so inspirational to me, I come here often and read all or your comments, stories... I can't speak for the group, but for me this has been a great place to come. Since finding this group on Monday, I feel I can stay AF for as long as I choose to. I hope that this will continue for many months to come, maybe the all of 2018!11

Ugh they are predicting a snowstorm and I'd love to just sit on the couch and have a bottle of wine.8

that's how I felt today, it was dark and gloomy and a little rainy. I did some yard work (which I HATE, really wanted a reward for that!), and some inside organizing, read some blogs, and planned my meals for the week so I don't have to guess later on.
Now I'm too tired to go out, so maybe I'll try some tea.
Do you have a plan for tonight? Netflix, movie, book? Sometimes I can get caught up in online games, mahjong is a favorite. No signing up or logging in.

I just really like wine and whisky, don't really need any triggers, or maybe just everyday life is the trigger.
My life is better with alcohol, just not so much as I had grown into drinking.
Have no interest in going AF, just want to be under control within a healthy and fit range. And, thanks to MFP that seems to be happening.
Stay tuned! Down 40 pounds so far, and much more active.13 -
I’ll give it a try! I have been a social boozer since college, but counting calories does bring an awareness.6

Welcome! My goal is to cut back on beer too. Trying to keep it down to 6 a night. Did about 50% in January, but not quite there for February yet. Its a process. You will find a lot of insight and support on this thread.4 -
@angelacatheart Not only on tv shows but every other song on the radio. And try buying a birthday card for someone that doesn't make a reference to alcohol. Once I started noticing these things I am seeing them everywhere.7
