    Good morning Sara!

Couldn't fall asleep last night; this morning, woke up way too early. 3.5 hours total. Jeez.
So, I did some paperwork, and now can't keep eyes open.

Everyone have a nice Sunday. I'm going back to bed.

A gorgeous day here in the nation’s capital - just the right kind of chilly, still a bit breezy and gorgeous sunshine. Did a 2-hour walk - helped both my mood and my sinuses.

    Happy Sunday all - BBL.

Very nice weekend here...SO and I went artifact hunting with part of his family, Sat.... it was quite enjoyable.. had a picnic on the creek side, and just enjoyed the day... actually had the weekend off, and was able to just relax... today wasn't sunny but, not too cool...was still a good day and, got more walking in than normal on my days off...the evening is ending stormy... goodness... poor pup is shakin like a leaf... starting to quiet down, thankfully... thunder was loud enough the house shook... hopefully, it is ending for the night... otherwise, will be a long night

    MONDAY

    Good morning,

Weigh in was "0" taking it and running, Pssst I weighed myself twice to see if there was a change - 0.2 down took the lowest.

Dawn- originally from Chicago so I know of storms where you thought the roof would come off. I would find my grandmother in the kitchen and we would play cards until things settled down. Dogs do not like storms (do cats even notice?) so I just sit and hold Miss T until it ends.

Quiche for most of my lunches. Made 2 stuffed bell peppers as well. Fried rice also available for dinners.

QOTD: what will you be working on this week?

AOTD: getting my "kitten" up and walking more. Weather will oblige until Wednesday at least.

Wave to all who follow. Lurking from work. Make it your best Monday.

It is proven that this works better if you have people that can hold you accountable for your bad days, otherwise I tend to endulge myself quite often, and I have been trying for 4 years to lose weight, mainly for health reasons, so if you think we can help each other, please add me!

    Good morning Everyone~

Welcome Serg! We're an informal group. We simply come to this thread and post.

Sara - AOTW - I think I need to spend time on planning and mapping out my food days in advance. That's what I'm going to try--it will dovetail with the grocery list.

I'm heading up to NYC today and already have the Fresh Direct delivery scheduled tomorrow with no "bad" foods.
However, I must eat healthy at the airport. RDU flying up has much much better food choices (Admirals Club) than LaGuardia does coming down (Au Bon Pain et al). I'm not blaming or crediting the places - it's my willpower in avoiding the tempting baked goods and candies. LOL!

QOTD: what will you be working on this week?

AOTD: I too, need to work on walking/exercise. Was doing so well with doing workout videos with co-workers. Then flu hit. Never got back into routine. Will have to try to work around new work travel schedule.

Gorgeous, albeit chilly, weekend here. Spent about 10 hours total driving Saturday - met my SIL and niblings In northeast Indiana to visit with step-mom and then stopped to see my mom on way home. My step-mom is a spunky 99 years old. We went out for a lovely lunch and had good visit. My mom, on the other hand, refused to even acknowledge I was there. Would not talk to me. Don't think she knew who I was. Dementia is a cruel & vicious thing.

Busy with IFWDA (Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association) Convention. Its on St Patricks Day and we are crazy busy with planning & prep. So far, over 170 people registered. Usually there are only about 60-70, tops!

    Will lurk from work....

*calling CBoys to bring sunscreen, hot tea & hot choc - sun shining but its a tad chilly here today*

*waves to everyone who stops in*

    Happy Monday all!!

Sorry kinda fell behind in reading, but I will catch up! Was sick last week with a head cold, sore throat...the whole nine yards, but am feeling much better today!

Welcome Serg! Post when you can, we are all here to help.

It's my turn the storm came by where I live last night and has carried over to today...wow lots of snow on the ground...lol Temps are nice (feels like -8) & is windy (35 km) but that's nothing major.

Sara~I was wondering if you can freeze the quiche you make? I have started making quiche in muffin tins no crust & take 2 egg muffins for bfast each day & would like to make lots & freeze them on the weekend.

Lana~I noticed your comment on the WW Zero Point Soup...just wondering what is in it...I love making soup...usually make a very large batch of soup every so often & portion & freeze it but have turned to salads for lunch lately...you intrigued me with his one though.

QOTD: What will you be working on this week?

AOTD: I will be attempting to incorporate strength training on Tuesday & Thursday mornings instead of my usual 5k run (and maybe Saturday but it is my nephew's 7th bday this week so lots of decorating & setting things up for Sunday...party day..Harry Potter Theme)....Oh & try not to eat all the peanut butter cooks I made yesterday...hahaha

    Have a great week everyone!

Waves to Dawn, Tess, Annie, Kathryn & anyone else who stops in.

Saltine - I froze the blue berries I bought. Things get lost in my freezer, but quiche does freeze well.

I am walking after work to place where I can knit and get free coffee/tea/hot chocolate - about 600 or more extra steps.

Poop patrol update (they made us dna our dogs to catch people who are not cleaning up after theirs) - large deposit this morning- maintenance man found it and took a sample -says its the one that started this whole dna thing - so they will find out who that dog belongs to - with any luck it is a resident - $150.00 a sample adds up.

have 20 hearts made - just havent sewn in ends on most - will call it a night for my eyes and sew them in tomorrow.

Missy- walking is our best friend because we can always do it - weather permitting of course.

    Wishing all a good night.

Sara - Thank you very much for the card. It's interesting how things work out for the best:
I had left NYC and gone down south while that card was in the mail way back when. Then a few days later, my neighbor who takes in my mail told me I'd gotten a card from you. I didn't ask him to open it.

Then, just a few days ago, something not-good happened that has me pretty upset. It has to do with estranged DH. This morning I got my mail from the neighbor, and your card is just what I needed, and I very much needed something good and positive today.

So thank you very much--I'm so glad you sent it! Thank you.

Kathryn - So sad to hear about your mother not recognizing you. It's an awful disease. I cannot imagine how you feel.
I am glad for you that you have upbeat things in your life, including that IFWDA. Yay!

Saltine - I call that soup Zero Point soup, but WW has another name for it, maybe Garden Vegetable Soup. It has showed up in their plan basics all through the past couple of decades.
So Zero Point soup to me is soup made of broth, which I think is no points and a bunch of zero-point vegetables. You can throw in any additions that you want and only the additions count.

Missy - Regarding your mother and a generator, it may be that someone will have to help her get going with this project. And it IS a project. To do it right, in my opinion, would involve a licensed electrician coming in and adding a sub-panel next to the existing electrical panel at the electric service entrance in the building, then running the circuit between the generator and the sub-panel. This is in addition to actually choosing a generator (company) and having it installed and fueled. Pardon me if you know this already--I can't remember if you said you have one where you live now.

Sara - I hope that your appointments go well today and that you find some time to do things that make you happy.

There's another storm coming along on the East Coast. Shakespeare: "something wicked this way comes", from The Scottish Play......
So I'd better get out walking very soon!

Dr visit okay, knew it weight too high, I am shorter than I used to be and my bp if it is the same next month I will be on bp meds again.....

Lunch was potato/cheese soup with house salad. Nice choice. I also got tapioca pudding for dessert.

Dental apt was pushed back a half hour so I can go and take a nap.

Lana - I thought that card would be good reminder to stop and breathe. Sorry about DH hope it is something fixable- he is in present tense? Meditation classes?

Dog wanted a longer walk and did some poop patrol of my own and let the office know (more steps....).

    BBL.

Sara - So doctor wants to check your BP in one month? Then it shall be Beach Bunnies' Boot Camp! Maybe you and I can buckle down together. I just finished my once a month piece of Pink Cake from Amy's Bread, so I'm ready.

I think it's funny and great that Tillie wanted more walking, so you did more sleuthing, and reported your findings to the High Command!

Time to put on my jammies, do some more junk mail shredding, and then back to watching some Netflix.

    Good evening,

Made many hearts today - gave one to a lady I know (she is a server at the place I eat and had lunch).

BP at dentist was its "normal" numbers, so nice to see that it is normal somewhere today.

Tapioca pudding and 2 butter cookies were my reward for going to dr/dentist. Could not have hot coffee/chocolate or tea because of the fluoride treatment.

Lana - you can buy cake in slices? - that is a good compromise. I am working on walking more even if it is 600 more steps a day. Start small.

Wanted to give myself facial as reward but cookies won out and I am tired (I wrote pooped) and edited.

No "kitten" issues to write about today - sorry...

    Wishing all a good night

    WEDNESDAY

Good morning, Dog up and fed at feet.

Quiche for lunch - have pear/banana and a fruit snack (prepackaged) and will add extra broccoli to fried rice.

With new medical guidelines for blood pressure most of the country qualifies, so if my dr wants me on a low dose of meds maybe that is a good thing. I just think it is insurance companies making another "pre-existing condition".

Bigger and better things to think about. Dawn our rain is starting again and more planned next week too....

Wave to all who follow. Stay warm out there.

Hello! I’ve been trying out Noom, and I like the interactive part of it, but I’m not sure I want to pay for it. This group seems to have that going for it. Can you tell me what you guys are about? Like, how do your daily posts work? And may I join?

    Good morning All~~
Having coffee, one eye is open....

Ash - We are nothing more complicated than what's said in the very first post of our ongoing thread: hit post #1 by Tilliesmommy. You are welcome to stop by whenever you wish!

I will look up Noom later on....

I need to get going. No snow has come, which means that my two appointments for today are a GO. The huge plus is that I get to safely walk out there and get in that exercise! YAY!

Sara - There is a small bakery in my neighborhood that does sell cake by the slice. Mind you, my favorite that they make is a James Beard recipe, and I got that recipe, worked in all of the ingredients, and voila *gasp* each slice is 950 calories. Hence, never more than once a month, and I plan the other meals around it.

Dawn - I'll have to look up that movie. Thanks!

Great! Here’s a little about me.

I’m 31 years old and middle school teacher at a Christian school. The school is part of a residential childcare facility. We take in at-risk kids and give them a home, therapy, and an education. I have been overweight my whole life, and I now understand that my size is really an asset and a blessing to my work with kids who have experienced trauma. However, I want to get back down to being reasonably overweight and cardiovascularly fit for my long term health.

I’m going on vacation with my brothers and sister this summer. We are going hiking at the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. My first goal is to be in better shape for that. I will be adding in walking and lifting weight to my routine.

Lastly, I love to pray for people, so if you have any stresses that are making your health journey difficult, please let me know.

    Hey there Dawn!

To All-- it has at last finally officially started really snowing here in The Big Apple - the snow is not melting away - it is sticking and making things out in the back yard of the apartment building turn white......

Ash - what part of the country do you live in? I tend to be weather-fixated, as the ladies know.

Also Ash, we enjoy pretending that we all get together at a virtual "beach club" where all of our troubles are soothed away by the ocean breezes and some end of the day time together. ( Just so you when we make some references to the Cabana Boys etc.)

Your summer plans sound good, and it's good to have that future event to focus, I think. Sometimes "for my health" is just a little too vague of a goal.

Almost all of us, I believe, have pets, including doggies, except (whimper) me, a person with doggie envy. So if you have any pets, please tell us about them and post some photos.

Waves to all who stop by later on~~

I live in Eastern Oklahoma, about an hour from Tulsa. We have had dry, chilly weather this week, though a couple of weeks ago we were nearly flooded. The wind was so strong yesterday that a tree fell on a power line and we were down for several hours. Had to cut drama practice short!

I have two fur babies (guinea pigs). They don’t have official names yet, though. We are going to hold an election at school for their names.

    Good evening,

Have 31 hearts made (found one hiding in my bag.... ). Lady knitter I met online through WW is sending me yarn that was dropped off by someone she knew - she wants me to make charity things with it. Kindness finds me in unexpected places.

Fried rice for dinner. Walk dog and then some dejunking/cleaning.

Isnt it Friday yet? I even had yesterday off, so I have no reason to whine, and yet.......

Cboys, dog treats and brush for Miss Tillie please, hot chocolate and foot massage for me.

    Wishing all a good night.

    Hey guys

T-Mom, What are the hearts for? Are you knitting them? I have sporadic interest in yarn crafts. I also Crosstitch whenever I get the craft bug. I made a Crosstitch of the Ravenclaw crest for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I want to make one for my brother that is Gryffindor.

So, for lunch I had fried chicken and mashed potatoes (that dining hall life), but for dinner I had zucchini “boats” with chicken, bacon, and cheddar cheese. I’m looking forward to having that for lunch tomorrow as well.

After dinner a couple of friends and I went to the gym and lifted weights. I’m taking it easy for now. Bench press, deadlifts, bent over row, using the big barbell +20 pounds. I plan to go on a walk tomorrow around campus. We have a big, steep hill on campus called “Gym hill“ I plan to walk Gym Hill two times per week for the next two weeks.

    #ZionNationalParkOrBust

    Good night y’all!
