I typed this out once and It didn't post. This is my absolute favorite way of cooking green beans. I'm not even a big vegetable eater but I eat these like candy. Drop 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds of green beans into boiling water, Cook for three minutes and then drain. While the beans are boiling put one and a half tablespoons of Olive oil in a big pan with a one and a half cloves of minced garlic, sauté on low to medium heat for a few minutes, add in drained beans, cook approximately 20 minutes until crisp tender and the garlic is a little caramelized. Halfway through sautéing sprinkle with kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper. Yummy...

Ok, random thoughts here this morning. But I turned the radio on this morning to start my day (a little cleaning and laundry) and that song Jesse's Girl by Rich Springfield was on. I love that song! I'm sorry, but if that song does not get you pumped, excited, motivated I don't know does!!! I cranked it up and started singing along at 7:15 in the morning. Husband once again thinks I've lost my mind. Lol. I told him I know it's going to be a good day because Jesse's Girl was on! Hahaha

Do you guys have any favorite workout/motivating song from 'back in the day' to get you going?

I love going home and turning on direct tv to the 90's and turning it up loud....lol It gets me going like no other!

Hello Ladies, I was wondering if anyone has had cancer and found ways to deal with the fatigue.

A reminder to do a breast exam, I got lucky finding my lump on a fluke, thankfully it was caught early! I have met too many women where it wasn't and it was too late.

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with that! I had a scare earlier in the year, but luckily it was nothing. Are you in the middle of treatment right now? I would think that just doing everything you can do to take care of your body should be your primary concern. I wouldn't worry about exercise or diet until you are clear for quite some time or unless you feel up to it. If you are feeling fatigued, I would say listen to your body and just rest it. Has your Dr. given you any suggestions?

So thankful to hear your scare turned out to be nothing. I finished treatments 3 weeks ago. Impatiently waiting for energy to be returned. The only thing my doctor said was that rads can cause fatigue and he had no idea how long it would last because everyone is different. Not much help from him unfortunately. I just hope it's not the pill causing me fatigue, that I have to take for the next 5-10 years.

Will be 42 in July. And a strong desire to lose 85-90lbs
I could use friends to support the long journey I have ahead of me. This my I don't know 100th time fresh start on MFP. And right now I have no motivation to exercise.

    Feel free to add me.

Welcome back! You are here and that's a start, as for exercise the key is finding something you enjoy doing. I like step aerobics and cycling, haven't done weights in awhile - hopefully be back at that soon. You could try starting with stretching and walking. Good luck, feel free to add me as a friend.

Hi ladies. I had a great weekend. My husband and I made it out for a date hike- 3 gruelling km of non-stop uphill! Super challenging, but fun. I’ve been thinking about my current goal. I started out trying to log every day, then trying to stay under for calories for the most part, then moved to getting 10,000 steps a day. Those are going really well, and it’s time to add something new. Thinking of trying to increase my veggie consumption. Made a huge salad to go with dinner and was so surprised by how full I was. Added bonus: the whole family ate less and now there’s leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Hope everyone’s had a happy & healthy weekend!

That sounds like a fantastic weekend! I wish I could say the same. Mine sucked. We are going through a very, very rough time with our youngest son and the stress is killing me. Just thinking about your hike has a very calming effect on me.

I am 48, just wanna lose 4 more lbs. Lost 21 with breaks. My goal was to have my dream body before I turn 50. The last 5 lbs are hard, needs a lot of dedication. Good luck to everyone.

Yes they are. Good luck to you! It's a great goal to have. There are several in their 50's here with dream bods I would love to have, but I think it's going to take me the rest of my 40's to put on enough muscle mass to get close.

Amazing weight loss progress so far though! Those last 5 are a beast indeed. I've been trying to loose them for what seems like my whole life haha! Mostly I've made peace with the fact that this weight (and not 5lbs lighter) is where my body wants to be. But it takes effort just to keep it here!

Happy Monday! I am completely exhausted after a late night Saturday night and a long hike Sunday. I am still committed to going to the gym after work to get my leg day in. I did a Dexa body scan last week, which is supposed to be one of the most accurate ways of measuring body fat, and it had me at 10% higher than what I thought it was based on the machine they use at my gym. This has given me a HUGE push to really focus on my body comp, keeping my weight training regular and hitting my protein goal everyday. I hope everyone has a fantastic week!!

You are doing an amazing job. Your hike was an unbelievable burn coupled with a great attitude. You can smash this! x

Good luck to you too! You've come so far which is brilliant, now there's light at the end of the tunnel - you will reach it.
