BeLLe. Sorry to hear this didn't work out for you, sometimes the drastic cut in carbs wreaks havoc on ones system and its hard to feel balanced. I suspect all of us go through that unbalanced feeling to some degree no matter what diet we are trying. Thank you for bringing your positiveness and up beat personality to the challenge!

Thank you .. your support is endless!!! :)
    . Aweee, I'm blushing !!

    L0L!! :)

Thanks BeLLe for the compliments, yes 90 is quite an achievement, and I need to recognize and celebrate that fact more! And I agree, it IS LIFE CHANGING !

Thanks to all that have participated! This has been a great experience for me and others because of your involvement!

BeLLe- I agree that this can be rough to get into and even now I have lost a lot of my strength and stamina. I know that I will see improvements so I will soldier on. Thanks for all of your support and enthusiasm!

Pwrfl1 - I really appreciate your support through the challenge! 90 lbs is remarkable! I'm glad you are still working on this eating style. I will probably close out this thread and go to the Keto site.

Risyfitforlife89- send me a friend request. I plan on continuing with this eating style for a while!

Mary, it's fairly typical you felt your strength go down....and it will probably be lower for a few more weeks. The good thing is, if you continue on the keto path, you will start to feel that strength burst through and gain some big energy. That is your clue that you have crossed over into fat adapted world!!! From there you will continue to become more and more adapted, and will see other improvements in other areas. Many people talk about their endurance levels going up bc they no longer have a " bonk " factor. So many things to look forward to!!

Mary, another clue to Fat Adaptation is when you're not hungry for hours after a workout. I also will go through periods where I seem to loose inches at a rapid rate but not show any losses on the scale.

Everyone has been so helpful and I know I'm not the only one who appreciates the help and encouragement! :) I enjoyed being a part of this challenge and group even though I wasn't 100% keto the whole time. I lost a total of 4 pounds, yay! I most likely won't keep strict keto, but will be keeping carbs under 40 grams and keeping fat up. Keeping my fat the highest macro has really improved my mood and energy! I love my bulletproof coffee! :) I have realized from this challenge that carbs (bread, pasta chips, and sweets) are not my friend, although I think I knew this all along and tried to ignore it. Good luck to everyone on your weight loss journey!

First! Bookmark this thread! I'm so glad you are interested in going keto with me for three weeks. They created this thread so that we can communicate daily on here and not interfere with any of the other thread. It would be also a great place to share your favorite food ideas. I posted some important information below.

Hi guys would love to join. I’m on my 2nd week of keto. I’m doing the diet doctor 2 week challenge. I ruined it on Friday though as it was Australia Day and I had sugary alcohol and sausage on a bread roll.
I got straight back into the challenge yesterday.
I had the whole brain fogginess but no keto flu thank god.
So what’s the plan with everyone else? I’m going to stick out this diet doctor challenge then I don’t know where from there.

I'm getting ready to start another three week challenge Monday April 9th. During this week I will be prepping for eating the Keto diet. I will be getting rid of all high carb foods and start menu planning for eating 75%fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs. There are a lot of links on the previous pages that have daily menus to use. Below is a great thread of dinners from other members.

Just my own 2 cents here.

Keto is awesome. I love it and feel it truly works and helps change the monotonous diet routine. But, and that’s a big but, to have your body truly go into ketogenic mode, it might take you three weeks. It might take some more or less. True fat loss does not occur until your body is kicked into ketogenesis and you maintain it with the proper nutrition. I think to go keto for three weeks and then stop is pointless.

I totally agree with you! However the three week challenge is for fine-tuning and making sure there is no cheating. I myself can't eat a strict keto diet as I start losing my hair as well as I lose a lot of weight very quickly. But the keto diet does get rid of fat very nicely and I eat Keto 80-90% of the time this challenge just tightens up my eating and introduces a new way of eating for others interested in trying it. You might want to join us and give us your own advice and expertise!
