Hoping for sunshine today.
March did well with my walking goals. I didn't log food because my days were just too busy. I lost two pounds.
April goals will be walk at least 10,000 steps daily and do yoga three days a week and ride my bike each day.
A friend gave me a 21 speed bike because she bought an electric bike. I'm enjoying it so much. The bike I've ridden for the past 15 years was a single speed Schwinn cruiser with coaster brakes. This new bike is fun to ride but I have a lot to learn. I'm so used to sweating going up a little hill that I go miles with this new bike and find myself a long way from home. Ha! Funny at 67 years old, I"m learning how to ride a bike with hand brakes and speeds.
Barbi, thank you for this wonderful site and the new thread for April. I don't write much but I read everything and enjoy being a part of this wonderful group.
I'm thinking of Machka and her husband and hoping for the best.
Happy April everyone.

@pipcd34 love your puppy pictures! Rocky reminds me of our Tucker. Gone a year ago. Big gentleman who we had with us for 14 wonderful years. Here are our 2 Cavaliers. Woody is 4 and just got groomed yesterday. He needs some walks with Mum to shed a couple pounds too. Lola is 7 months and just adorable.7

Easter foods were very salty and fatty. Easter treat I’m paying for by weight up a pound, Hershey sq&&&&&, lethargic, allergies, and sleepy.
DH is a retired chef so we eat gourmet a lot. He tends to cook lower calorie for us, but Easter was a special treat.
Logging on MFP versus WW.... I find it easier to log on MFP. Quit WW.
Hope this is our last week stationary. Getting hot. Add wind and dust...

Just had 2 cups of coffee to get up the ambition to shovel about 6 inches of wet, heavy snow, DH and I are so used to it this year that we work in tandem with little fuss, a wonderful neighbor always gets done first and insists on pitching in on our sidewalk! So looking forward to spring, I can just tell it is around the corner.
Hey to all new folks, glad to have you on board!

I have to start out my April goals by telling you, I was just blown away. I've been telling Jack I can see the difference in my size and shape, but my weight is just not going down. I just went back to my March 1st post to review my goals and progress. I posted then that I was down 18 pounds since January 1st. Today I'm down 23 pounds since the first of the year, that five pound loss in March totally surprised me.
My word for 2018 is renew. I shall continue to renew my commitment of eating well and exercising daily.
Much love my friends

OK I'm down 2 lbs, and today I'm packing my scale, so I am only up 1 lb from my weight after husbands hospital stay. Adapt, and adjust. Life's influx, always changing and we are all testament to it. When we stop learning, and growing, we might as well hang up our spur's, right?

The dogs and I had beautiful sunshine and a full moon for our walk this morning---however, it was 33 degrees. Fortunately, all the daffodils told me it was April and not January.
janetr, congrats on your weight loss
Betsy, have fun with your new bike.

And the filly was delivered to me just about an hour after I got home from the hike. It took them three hours to load her on the trailer and she went down in it, and has cuts on her face and fetlock, but she is here and safe now. I have put her in with my unicorn and they are eating a pile of hay together. My hubby was watching tv and didn't notice when she got her just before dark, so I'll just see how long he takes to figure out there are now two chestnuts instead of one...LOL Wendy...PS, hoping I have lost a bit of weight on the hike!
Love the picture and glad the hike went well.
I had to chuckle about you and the horse. I am thankful she is safe with you, and although I do try to consult people about plans, it is true that asking forgiveness is easier (and usually more successful) than asking permission. (My two bags of "crap" from the downstairs during my Saturday cleaning frenzy is an example. -- Hubby late Saturday afternoon, "Wow. The garbage can outside is already full??!!?" -- our garbage day is Friday.)

Well done Janetr! :drinker: You have worked hard for your great shape and fitness. :flowerforyou:
Had a long phone call with my old flatmate from university. We have little in common any more, but it's still lovely to chat and we do understand each other as we shared in Bristol for four terms. I sort of learned to cook then as she always cooked properly. I started to read recipe books as bedtime reading.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx9 -
I've been thinking of Machka and her DH. I hope things are going well and he is healing. Sending prayers and good thoughts their way.

Hi ladies, no real time to post as I had 4 pages to catch up on all of you. Great weight loss and renewed commitment gals.
Welcome all the newbies. This is a great group and you can do it.
I'll try to post more later or tomorrow.

April Goals
1. Nutrition goals of Fat 75%, Protein 20%, Carbs 5%
2. Log foods daily
3. Exercise daily
4. Move more sit less
Kettlebell Workout
Goblet squats-3X5X 40
Russian kettle bell swing-15 X7X 40
I have to say that I have only been using the 40 pound kettle bell for two weeks now but I can already feel the difference in my strength.
I have started a three week challenge of getting back to eating a keto diet. I've had way too much Coke and Donuts lately! I'm still working on recomposition. During the winter it is my bulk cycle and during the spring it is my cut cycle. My bulk cycle is always a dirty bulk with my carbs not always being the healthiest! However, it has enabled me to build muscle and increase the amount of weight of my Kettlebell. Now to focus on shedding fat. This is easily done by eating the keto diet. My husband is making a large batch of smoked ribs for supper tonight as well as leftovers for the week. We will also have a lot of egg, bacon and cheese omelettes, steak, fried chicken and Costco beef hotdogs! For snacks I will make deviled eggs and macadamia nuts. Looking forward to this Way of eating. It is so nice to have my husband along for the ride! Especially since he likes to cook this type of food!
Have a fantastic day everyone!
