2.8 miles done. Guys! I was under a 10 minute mile today. It felt really good to hear that on runkeeper. I did a little bit of speedwork. I was running around a half mile loop for my run this morning, and there was a slight incline (I live in Charleston, SC, so there's really no hills) that I would speed up for, and then I would back off once it flattened out again. I think that helped me to run faster. Plus, I didn't have to push the stroller today. How do you add pictures on this? I took a nice one this morning.

@karllundy Ouch! Moleskin should help until you heal but you should dig into the root cause. I have been dealing with blisters on the tips of my second toes for months now off and on. Some things I have tried:
- going up a half size (didn't help)
- tighter lacing (jury still out)
- different socks (seems to be helping more than anything else)0 -

Besides the poor guy probably has to write up a full report about how he handled the man in black running down the street. Ah well.
And yes, I plan to run that same route tomorrow, cept I might add a black headband.
If it's like Alberta The report the Sheriff's have to fill out can be a nightmare or a really funny read. The description the Sheriff's received is very common ie very poor. Had a mental image of you with a headband that had Racoon Eyes on it.
I can imagine. It is a fairly thankless job with extreme risks and pressures. The paperwork is just like pouring salt in that I would expect.0 -

Yesterday's run was kind of brutal. We went from months of temps in the 20s-40s straight to 78F. I can tell that I am not acclimated to this kind of running right now. Add in the 20+ mph winds and it was down right hard. I had a hard time keeping my HR in zone 2. When I tried to slow down, it only felt harder trying to battle against the wind. I guess it is good prep for race day though, because this would be typical weather for May 6th in Cincinnati.
Tomorrow is the final long run of 20 miles before we gradually start to taper. We will be doing a preview of the marathon course downtown with just about every other running group in the Cincy area. It's always a fun event. It's supposed to thunderstorm, but we will be getting an early start and hopefully be done before they get too out of hand. Hubby will be out of town tomorrow, so it should make for a nice relaxing, rainy afternoon hanging with the pup after my long run. Did I mention we just got a new sofa?

It's race day eve for me! Working a half day from home then getting my stuff together to drive down to Colorado Springs from Denver.
My diet is a little off kilter and my calf and hamstring are tighter than I'd like, but all in all should be a good race.
Could be some mud and the start will be a little chilly. Ithetwose, nothing that I haven't prepped for. OMG I'm gonna run 25k!12 -

Thanks for the tips! Socks were actually my first thought. These, while not brand new, are relatively new and a brand I haven't used. Possibly my first long run in them.0 -

Welcome! Indeed we had to start somewhere.0 -

@fitoverfortymom have a great race!
I'm just loading up my truck and what should arrive? Thundersleet! I've never seen that before.3 -
@karllundy that made me laugh out loud!
Skip has a meet today and tomorrow. I hope to get in a few miles sometime. She had a great meet last week not the best times but she ran in the 4x8 relay they got second, she got 5th in the 1600 and 2nd in the 3200 making up about 75m on the last lap to move into second then immediately ran the 4x4 and they got 2nd. It was so cold when she lined up for the 4x8 the official sent her off the track to put something on over her shorts and singlet. She put long sleeves on but everyone was running in sweats. In the 3200 and 4x4 the boys and girls ran on the track together. I was sorry I didn’t get a picture of her waiting for the baton. It was 2 guys then her then another guy. She literally finished the 3200 took a sip of water and went right back out. A Busch from another team said what is she doing, but 3 girls never ran a relay before so she said I’ll do it with you. Even after the 3200 she still ran a 1:15 400 with 20 mph winds. I was proud momma.8 -

@7lenny7 You too! Weather here isn't great, but should be slightly better in the AM at race time. Do you start at this coming up midnight, or two midnights from now?0

It's officially listed as 12:01 am Saturday, so in just over 12 hours.2 -

Total *kitten*.
They had 8 inches of snow last week, which thawed in the last couple of days creating a mud fest. Today the prediction is an inch of rain and thunderstorms while the temp drops from 40F. Somewhere around midnight rain turns to freezing rain, then to snow, up to 8 inches Saturday. The freezing rain could coat the roads with a quarter inch of ice (not a factor until we have to drive home).
Meanwhile steady winds in the mid 20mph range, with gusts to upper 40s.
I'm all loaded up and just enjoying a cup of coffee and snuggling with Kody, then I'm hitting the road.

Oh wow. Good luck to you. I know that both of you trained really hard for this. I have complete faith that both of you can make it through anything Mother Nature throws your way. now I am really looking forward to the race reports!0 -

A hard 10 miles - it was really warm with a breeze in one direction. I don't know if my legs were ready for long distance again or if I wasn't ready for the warm weather... whatever the reason I was slow and my legs felt awfully tired. I made it to 8 miles without stopping, then did a walk/run the last 2 miles.
It's been a few hours and my legs still feel tired!

Big Hairy Audacious Goal: Sub 4 hours in Pittsburgh 2018!
Official Marathon PR: 4:11:28
Next Races (more as I find them):
05/06/18 - Pittsburgh Marathon - aiming for sub four hours.
05/12/18 - Glacier Ridge 50k Trail Ultra (I must hate myself)
2020 - Disney World Dopey! (if can raise funds)
Someone loaded Summer by mistake today! I am NOT ready for 82F runs with 25% humidity. I only had 1 water bottle with me. BIG mistake. Ugh, I stopped at 10 mainly because I needed water bad.
And YES I did run back down that same road in my scary black clothes - but I did add my black headband! No cops today.2 -
