Well, went for a walk yesterday. Planned on 2 miles but it turned into three. Almost home and I went to take a picture of an unusual desert flower when I found my phone missing. I had to turn around and retrace my steps. Found the phone about halfway through. It head fallen out of my pocket. I did get a pic of the flower when I got back to it and broke a flower off to take back home. Picture follows. I don’t know what it is though. Still have to look it up.

Machka: Things are sounding so much better for you and your DH. I love the old saw about eating an elephant one bite at a time. I can't remember when I first heard it, but it was long ago. It fits this situation very well. :flowerforyou:
Pip: The e-bike sounds like an amazing creation. I hope you'll eventually post a picture of Kirby riding it.
Lanette This is my second day of sublingual B complex with B12. I noticed a difference yesterday & will keep it up for awhile. If it is successful, "awhile" will be long term. Thanks again for the suggestion.
We're up and the day is overcast so far. We haven't decided what we might do to fill the day. My weight is still up a bit, but my knee is beginning to feel better. I'll keep up my quest to lose a couple of pounds until it feels good and strong again.

Machka, thanks for the update on your husband and the inspiring article "Eating an Elephant" That's a principle for all of in many different life challenges.
Heather, I like staying home more than anything so treating myself to comforts at home has been a good choice. I continue to be so delighted to hear about your running.
Jake has been cleared to go back to his regular life following his surgery in March. He is in good spirits. His back is so much better and most of the pain is gone. His heart is still weak and he gets out of breath easily but we can go for walks together which is something we haven't been able to do for about a year. This morning he went out and cut the grass in our tiny back yard.

Hello y’all,
Machka Great news! Prayers are being answered for you and your DH! Yahoo!!
The volcano in Hawaii is something. The edge broke off the crater and the lava also drained down 1000 feet! Just amazing! Jupiter is aligned with the earth and sun causing more forces on the plates. I expect to see much more volcanic action and earthquakes.
There’s also a coronal hole facing earth so today there will be minor geomagnetic storms from the solar wind.
(I follow earthquake sites and love geology)
It took me several hours to catch up with the posts this morning. You guys are awesome!!!
I had to sleep off the headaches I was having. I think they were from the injection into my spine on Tuesday. I called the doctors office and his nurse said to drink coffee, tea or any caffeinated drinks and that would help. It did somewhat. Today is mucho better and my back feels pretty good. Two more injections on 5/15 and 6/1.
I’m kind of a homebody too unless we plan a trip out of town, then I enjoy it. DH runs all over town everyday. I just as soon stay out in the woods just doing what I like around the house with Dolly.
Time for breakfast!
Have a great day!

Machka- we are so happy for you and your husband! Thanks for the update!
Barbie - love the umbrella and sitting area! Your fence looks fantastic and it will be great to have your dogs able to run around. Great news about Jake!
I've just finished my exercise and ready to go out and enjoy the Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Have a great day everyone!

Hola, everyone.
I skimmed through the last part of April and this page. Do I have a hope of catching up?
Heather - thank you. The song "Stronger" is a favourite of mine.
Machka - It is encouraging news that your DH is awake and saying a few phrases. I will continue to pray for his recovery.
On the subject of Thank You cards and letters. My kids always wrote them. My sister sent Jason's back all marked in red pen with her corrections. She wonders why he quit writing to her? He was 7 or 8. His Grandma received letters sporadically from him until her passing.
I have been busy being the family taxi. Jason continues to have tests. They gave him an EEG but it could take 2 weeks for those results. On Monday I will take him to the lab for his blood work for sugar. He is not looking forward to that. He says he has blacked out on the walk to Harmony's school. SHE insisted on getting wine for this weekend and I do not like that. Can't SHE wait until we find out what is going on.
So it has been appointments, groceries, dance and interviews to drive to.
I have been having terrible headaches probably because my neck is so so sore. I made an appointment with Kristin for Monday. Until then it's pain pills, heat, water and as much sleep as possible (groan, my sleep is terrible).
Lawyer told me I hold all the cards as Larry would have left long ago if he truly wanted to.
Tuesday we had our first counselling session. I think it went well? Homework is a 30 second hug each day to release the bonding hormone.
Tonight I am going out with my cousin to "Bellows to Brass". There will be a lot of accordions there. I am really looking forward to it.
I will continue the chase after all of you fine ladies. I know I have missed a lot of your news.
Going forward with a Fierce Heart.

Recently I have been watching my elder son on Utube, because he makes vlogs with his pal Gadge about Airsoft products. It's really nice for me, because I rarely see him IRL. Today I learnt that his lovely partner and her daughter are also taking part in the war games. He also writes for the magazine. It's wonderful to see him so well and happy after years of anxiety and depression and losing his job. I don't suppose he knows how much pleasure I get from watching him.
Can't seem to post photos at the moment from my tablet.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx

Machka, so happy to hear that hubby remembers how to eat an elephant! Reading that brought tears to my eyes. Also happy that you have a couple of friends that will jump in and give you a hand but not invade your space and place even more demands on your time and energy (really, you have enough of that going on already!). Also very thankful that you take the time to update us on what's happening with you and hubby. {{{HUGS}}}
So many posts to catch up on! I missed reading on Thursday, did some running around, had a massage then wanted to refurbish the dirt that my african violets are in. Then, at 3:30 p.m., we decided to fire up the bbq for the first time this year so of course it needed cleaning. When hubby started taking it apart, he discovered that it was pretty much shot, so as we already had our hearts set on bbq, we ended up going to Home Depot to get a new one. By this time it was closer to 4:30. That store is kind of disorganized (!!!!) and finding the bbq that we wanted took some time. Shorten this story, we didn't bbq that night and it was after 7 by the time we ate. Hubby finished putting the new bbq together yesterday while I was at work so we finally had our bbq last night! SO GOOD!!! lol.
Had quite a shock on Wed a.m., weigh in day so I was on the computer (down .8!) so I decided to check my email. Good thing. There was an email from the gym that I had been going to, they declared bankruptcy and all locations have been closed permanently and immediately. I drove past on my way to the Y, all that was in the parking lot were three big moving vans. Fortunately, while I was on a payment plan, they had taken a payment last on April 20, so I'm not out money yet. I've been checking my credit card statement twice a day since, just making sure another payment doesn't get tried (it was every two weeks). So far, so good. I didn't have anything there either, some people had rental lockers where kept whatever, I just took what I needed for each day. Anyway, I've seen a few familiar faces at the Y already, and I think I'm going to like it there. I start work at 8:45 on the weekends, that old gym didn't open til 8 so I really didn't have time to go, but the Y opens at 7, so the opportunity is there. I didn't go this morning, but I'm going to try and get there tomorrow. And it will end up being cheaper too! Win, Win, Win!
Sorry, I've just waited too long to post to say individual things to people, although Terry, I do love the idea of "blinging" up the boot!
Welcome to the newbies, hugs for those who need them, congrats to those celebrating and thank you, thank you, thank you Barbie for keeping this thread going!

Machka, So happy to hear of your husband's progress! Humor coming thru, oh what a joy to see right? Blessed milestones!
Awesome!

Thanks for the update Machka. To hear about his progress is a great way to start my Sunday, full of gratitude for answered prayer. I'm going for a walk this morning with my husband! This is a rare treat for me, and he says he's going to make it a Sunday routine. Things are changing now that he's retired and beginning to relax into his new role. He has always had so much pressure on him, it's hard for him to unwind and accept that he doesn't have to hold the world up with one hand.
I did my long run the other day, an hour twenty. Lost my van key but luckily I keep a spare under it in a magnetic box. I also got lost myself, but managed to find my way back by following a fence line until I found myself again. LOL. The van is still losing water and needs major mechanical work. Sometimes I feel like I am biting off too much elephant all at once. Wendy6 -
