Good Morining! I had a long weekend of painting cabinets and staining shelves. we are in the third year of a "down to the studs" remodel and I'm ready to be done. I am glad that it's the basement I'm working on which is my craft room/canning kitchen/gym. If it would only finish itself.
I live in Alaska, so flowers have not even started showing up. I miss my gardens, until the remodel is done I can't get them set up. I MIGHT set up some pots, just so I have something to do outside.

Way to plan it out Ruth!
Welcome JG! We’re glad to have you. I may be dating myself here.... 48..... but do you remember having a Pen Pal? Our discussion thread is like one happy Pen Pal Party.... and you don’t have to wait 2 weeks for a response!1 -
Welcome to the group @Jbnickel
Your remodel work will be a great job when its complete, to think you'll have that extra space for things you love doing
Its lovely to have someone from Alaska in the group, has it started warming up yet at all? I take it you have longer days of daylight currently like us here in Ireland, it doesn't get dark until just after 10 and the days are still lengthening.

I had a great day yesterday, I stuck to just over 1500 calories which is low for me and I'm feeling very motivated to keep on doing that.
@jm216 I like how you put it, yes this group is like having a bunch a great pen pals and its lovely that each day when I check in I get updated from these lovely pen pals
Happy Tuesday everyone1 -
Good morning everyone. I'm new to this group, but not to the weight loss journey! I have been looking for a place to help me finish my race and enter maintenance. As I read through your posts it's so great to see your support and encouragement to each other!
I started back in March of 2004 at 268 pound, I lost 50 pounds in 5 months and maintained that loss. Over the years I have yo-yoed from 217-204. I want to finish this race! You seem like a great group to do that with. I'm currently 217, and I just want to get into one-derland lol! I'm 42 years old with a husband of 22 years. We have 3 daughters, ages 20, 17, and, 13. Thank you for letting me share! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all more, and support you all along your journey!

Hi @yenny58 welcome to the group Jenny the more the merrier. We'd love to have your participation, that's what this place is all about, sharing the ups and downs of weight loss and weight maintenance.
If you want to make sure you don't miss any new postings here remember to tap/click on the star at top right of the thread so it becomes a favourites. If you're using the app then you'll see the notification that there are new comments.
Well done on your weight loss so far - you're not too far away from Onederland so make that a goal for yourself. Sometimes we just have to renew our goals and then commit to sticking to it and seeing it through. If you plan to log in here every day and that means logging your meals and of course coming to chat with us gals here, I think you'll find that will help spur you on.

I agree with Ruth...you are not that far from Onederland!! Keep going, I know you can do it! @jgnickel, it is so fun to have a dedicated sewing, craft area...I need to be using mine more, lol. I really like the idea that we are all penpals, too. I have a kind of penpal in IRL..we had an exchange student from Sweden with us for my daughters junior year. It was great fun, and we still keep in touch. By the way, I am Judy. Have a great day all.

My husband is going along for the ride 90% of the time, not consciously but I'm not cooking different meals everyday LOL2 -
I had a very active weekend and didn't eat the healthiest, although in total for the three days I was only over calories in total by 59. Not bad at all really. I'm need to go back and look at the actual food though because I don't feel well at all today. Maybe it's just no real rest in three days. I think I may leave work and go have a nap. Then I need to do a couple sample paintings for the paint night I'm leading on Friday.2

That sounds like fun! Both the napping and the painting. I love taking power naps on my lunch break.0 -
I had a glutinous weekend, sat Sunday and kind of Monday1

It happens to everyone... shake it off and don’t dwell on it. Sometime I feel better by just admitting it to myself... and the guilt will go away. Every day is a fresh start.1 -
I am awesomely exhausted.
The grass has been cut, and the driveway and sidewalks are blown. Must get off butt and take a shower....so stinky and yet so sleepy. Have a restful night’s sleep!

Hi Jenny!
I too have been yo-yoing between 223 and 218, and I’m with you about getting to Onderland. My hubby and I will be married for 23 years in September, and we have a 17 year old son and 13 year old daughter. We’re glad you’re here with us!1 -

hope Tuesday was better for you...we all have weekends like that at times but if they're in the minority they wont derail our progress.0 -

Yes Jill, I think the longer days seem to slip in quicker...but its no bad thing that we're almost at the weekend again
Well gals I went to Aquafit last night for the first time to keep my DIL company. It was such fun Personally I found it easy so my NSV of the week is: Yep, I'm darned fit LOL, we've decided we'll go for the next 5 or 6 weeks, at least up until my next holiday. I'm hoping it will give her a boost to start committing to eating better and lose some weight. She wants to lose weight but like a lot of us, its easy to say we want to lose but we actually have to take control of what goes in our mouths and make the effort. I'm trying to get her to log her food here on this app so she is more calorie aware. Years ago she did use this app but not since she got married.
We are having a fine spell of weather, hope it continues as we have another bbq this weekend at our sons.
Oh and I'm finding with reducing my sugar intake that weight is falling off - its mostly water I realise that (the glycogen stores are going whoosh LOL), but its making me rethink the actual type of food I eat. Also I'm finding if I cut down on sugar it means I can eat more 'good' calories so I'm not as hungry either! win win! I'll keep you all updated as the next few weeks go on.
Have a great day everyone - make it count

You are such an inspiration to us all!1 -
I love that song, Jill! He's got a lot of good positive songs. Songs that just make you happy.
Gosh, I haven't been posting on this forum much. I'm still plugging away, logging my food, getting a few workouts...
I hope you all are doing well!2 -
Good to hear from you @MyEvolvingJourney glad to hear you're plodding away and getting the job done
Happy Friday everyone, tonight I'm making another new recipe >
https://recipes.sainsburys.co.uk/recipes/20-minute-recipes/speedy-peanut-chicken-with-boodles?meal_plan=121
I like the fact that its a meal made in around 30 mins, you can't get more speedy than that. I am replacing the boodles with ordinary noodles, this gal doesn't restrict carbs or see the need to.

Happy Friday Everyone!
Today kicks off Memorial Day weekend. Get outside and have fun!3 -
Good morning ladies! Thank you for the warm welcome . I've been busy since Wednesday with our 20 year old daughter, she had surgery and is at the hospital recovering. My husband and I have been with her daily, and that has made food choices difficult, along with exercise. But, I'm trying my best at the hospital cafeteria and my DH and I walk around the hospital as often as we can to get or daily step count in. Yesterday was not as good as I would have wanted, but I'm trying . Today or daughter gets to come home, so once we settle in at home, i can better control both food and exercise. Have a blessed Friday everyone!!2
-
@yenny58 hope your daughter is recovering well, you'll be glad when you get her back home again and more normal life can resume.2

Good morning all! I was surprised to find that I didn't lose anything again this week. I'm not super sure what's going on there. I think I get into the habit of not tracking everything. Little bites. A few pieces of something here and there. So I'm going to be more diligent this week. Do you guys have to be super mindful of your intake as well?1

Yes! When I track every bite I do much better. It's a pain, but it really helps to have a place like this to find others that struggle in the same ways2 -

How long since last loss? Mine used to go 3 weeks no loss then whoosh and a few pounds went at once. The scale can take time to show progress.
If however you are eating bits and pieces that are not accounted for you could well be doing away with most if not all your deficit. Be more diligent and see what that brings.
Our hormones mean loss can get masked but if you know you're at calorie deficit you know it'll be ok.0
