Thanks for all anniversary wishes.
LANETTE no I'm not from long living stock, actually my Dad died at 56 from cancer and my Mum died at 63, she had osteoporosis and her heart was compromised by this. I think a lot of people of that generation and of the working class in the UK at that time, did not always have the best of food etc I remember my Mum who was the youngest of 6 children relating a story about there being 1 egg for lunch for her and her sister and oldest sister said boil it hard and slice it so both kids could share it.
I think point is that my parents had been brought up in poverty and that definitely impacted on their health in later life. We were lucky enough to have been given decent food etc and that obviously makes a difference.

Rebecca - that's a good reason to have your medical records. I always want a hard copy of any record of mine, blood work, any tests and the results. Good for you having them

Michele in NC, I always go into a doctor's office office with my folder in hand. It has procedures I've had, my yearly tests, and I write out a sheet of questions I need answered. No sense wasting the doctors time hemming and hawing. That comes from many doctors just yacking about the obvious, which is my weight. "Hey doctor Obvious, I know that, but I need the world to stop spinning"!
I read up on Hiperparathyroidism. So its not how elevated your calcium is, that determines symptoms. You could have really high levels of calcium and have a couple symtoms, or you could be just a bit up and have all the symptoms! Over long term, it can shorten your lifespan by 5-6 years. Because it draws calcium out of your bones, osteoporosis and also kidney stones can appear. Also:
-frequent urination √
-balding √
-joint achness √
-feeling tired no energy √
-feeling off and not yourself √
-memory and foggy issues √
-problem getting to sleep √
It looks like everything I feel can be attributed to this dang disease!
Looking forward to getting that surgery in July sometime!

Barbara, When I teach I do a walk through, a review one eight at a time, and walk all four walls but I don't cue during the dancing. I learned that from a teacher who moved a few years ago. She said that it's important for dancers to use their memories and cueing spoils the enjoyment of the music. The dance for "Cake by the Ocean " is "A Little Oo Na Na " which was choreographed to "Havana"2

Good afternoon. DH and I went to the YM this morning. The pool felt heavenly as it is unusually warm here. Afterwards we went to Walmart for a few things and then to the Co-op to get animal feed. Came home and let critters out into the pastures where they can find cooler spaces to hang out. Poor puppy has been panting most of the afternoon. Eating is going well and drinking lots of ice water.
Kate UK - Happy anniversary!
KJ - Your DD and DGS must be coming about mid July because my DS's wedding is 4 weeks away too.

Everyone take care, Sue in WA

I got a text this afternoon that we won't be dancing at the County Fair this year. Jake is happy because I won't be gone all afternoon every Thursday for the next two months. I have mixed feelings. There have been some problems. Two of the six dancers are beginners and have needed lots of nurturing to even learn the dances and they keep saying that some of the dances are too hard. The leader has cancelled practices because of vacation or family emergency. All but two of the dances are new to me and I don't particularly like most of them so I haven't been very diligent about practicing at home. But I really like performing so that's the part that makes me sad.7

Rebecca: Belated Happy Birthday. I'm hopeful you get relief from the vertigo.
KateinUK: Happy Anniversary!
Michele: Sounds like your spiritual principles are going to get a good test the longer Denise lives with her MIL. Wishing you peace and contentment, if/when they generate dramatic sworl.
Rita: Hawk rescue! WTG.
Re sleeping alone -- not an issue for me. DH often falls asleep sitting in the living room. We have 'crossed paths' in the dead of the night when he finally wakes up to come to bed, and I'm arising to take a quick leak.
I love dancing, but not sure I could learn to line dance...I'm dyslexic, more so with motor skills than with reading. I My DH does not dance, and I tried a latin dance class while on a cruise and got 'spiked' by another participant. Took a month for the bruise to heal. So, I listen to salsa/merengue while on the treadmill, and just imagine I'm in Panama, in a club, with a young latin hottie.
Today we got hammered with hail about the size of cherry tomatoes. It dented the a/c compressor unit, but otherwise, no damage to our property. I did see on the news that as the storm headed east, it intensified. The hail got larger and caused significant damage to cars, roofs, siding and gardens.
Tomorrow I have my nephew's 16 year old daughter coming to hang with us for a few hours. She is visiting from Oklahoma City, and I don't know her at all, so this will be interesting. She has been visiting my niece who lives nearby, and I know they have already done alot of outdoor activities with her. Not sure what we'll do together, so wish me luck.

Rebecca I am following your journey with interest as I have a history of high calcium and parathyroid levels myself. My new endocrinologist here in College Station has diagnosed Primary Hyperparathyroidism. He was hesitant to start treatment last year. I go back to him in July and will insist on treatment at this time. The "non-measurable" symptoms are too many and must be addressed as you say. I am often spontaneously nauseous out of nowhere and I am sure this is the source. Stay well my friend as best you can.

Checking in!
I lost 1.4 lbs and feel pretty good with swimming. The grandkids keep me hopping!
We just went shopping today and unloaded the groceries. An uneventful day...
Rebecca Happy Birthday. I think I caught you on FB.
I bring my questions to ask my doctor also. Saves time. I used to forget and remember what I wanted to ask when I got home. Arrg...
Michelle I hope the dog works out with Denise and y’all. It’s hard taking animals with you when living with someone. I’ve been there and ended up not speaking ever again. (To the friend, not my dog)
Kate-UK Happy Anniversary! That’s a long marriage! I hope you have many many more!
Machka Thinking if you! I hope you remain strong. It must be hard for you adjusting to a different way of life right now. You must want everything to go back to normal I’m sure. It takes time to heal. Prayers sweetie.
That’s it! Have a nice evening,

Rori - HAIL??? Our pool was 91 today.
Rebecca - I, too, write down all my questions for the doctor. I've also started doing what Vince does, whenever I go to the doctor's I take a sheet with all my procedures, the results, etc. So when they ask you to fill out that form with the two little lines you're supposed to put everything on, I just write "see attached". Vince also does this for his medications.

Hi Gals,
Rori – you’ll do fine with the 16 year old, ask her what she might like to do – if you only have a few hours she might even like to hear family history or stories about the relations you have in common.
So I got asked to help a friend of a friend – a woman I have never met - her daughter is getting married on the 7th of July and she has decided to make cookies instead of a cake, 4 kinds for 200 guests, so she decided on the Friday before she’d make 50 of each of kind and that would do it. The friend we have in common said you better talk this over with Kim…. I did cookies for a wedding once, made 2 kinds, 2 of each per person and ran out! On folk’s plates at the first run through the buffet - folks took 5-6 cookies each! All mature adults! So one cookie each with a guest list with a bunch of kids and 20 something adults will need more than one cookie each. She and I are meeting for coffee at our local coffee house at 5:30am tomorrow, I put together a list of things to consider. I’ll have to tread softly to help her understand she has grossly under estimated this commitment.
Smiles

Sue in WA: Bandit is a handsome fellow. I hope you have lots of fun together. :flowerforyou:
Barbie: I'm sorry your dancing at the fair was cancelled. Did they give a reason?
Rori: I've never been diagnosed with dyslexia, howver I don't know left from right very well. A doctor once told me I had mixed dominance because I wasn't clearly right handed or left handed. When dancing I get confused and sometimes dizzy unless it is slow dancing & I'm cuddled up with DH. :ohwell: On another subject, I bet you'll do very well with your nephew's 16 year old daughter.
DH had a fall today coming down the stairs and he's hurting. I think he landed on his tailbone. I didn't see it myself & I'm not quite sure how it happened. I had a long to-do list for the two of us, and it had to be put on the back burner. Please send him good wishes &/or prayers for noticeable improvement by morning. Sometimes sleep provides magical healing. I hope it does that tonight.
