HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLIE !!!!!!!!!
My friend's son has flown back from South Korea to look after her. She is being allowed home as she has demonstrated enough prowess on stairs with her crutches and he will be there. She said not to visit until next week as she is exhausted. They had to cut right up the foot to the ankle to find the end of the ligament. Ouch!
My brother has asked me to speak at his "renewal of vows " ceremony on the 14th. I guess it is an honour. I was a witness for their wedding. I am ambivalent because I don't really agree with the whole idea. A vow is a vow.
Oh well. I will speak a bit in what I hope is a light and humorous vein and then read my favourite poem about a relationship - US TWO, from NOW WE ARE SIX. It's about Pooh and Christopher Robin. He said that would be ok. I read it at my son's wedding and DH's 70th. When Edie, aged 2, heard the word "poo" she started to take her trousers and knickers off in the middle of the room! Funniest thing ever!
They are having a party after the church. My son is coming to the church and party and bringing Edie and Max. I hope she won't do the same thing again this time, aged 4.
I do remember I was very unhappy at the time of their wedding. Divorced, overweight and just broken up with a boyfriend. I wore the most dismal, figure disguising clothes. How times change.
DH watching the world cup.

wildrosedragon wrote: »Morning everyone, new around these parts. Didn't have any hard goals in May but did reach some soft ones, so am happy with that. I have 8 lbs left on reaching my 1st major goal of loosing 64 lbs, way ahead of schedule. So going to set it for my June goal. Another June goal is to finish moving out of upstairs and complete moving in downstairs. I have a split entry house and I am moving to basement (ground floor), daughter and grandson are moving in upstairs. This is all part of my plot to help her while helping me. Gives them a 2 bedroom apartment for more than half of what the market is going for and allows me to downsize. So right now everything is in chaos but slowly getting it done. Once I get all my stuff downstairs I can start painting my rooms and get settled.

Last day of month and didn't make it to 299 but have made it to 305, so a bit closer. I did get moved into the basement, thanks to my daughter and her boyfriend. There was no way for me to actually get it done all by myself, but thankfully they stepped in and got it done for me. Now I can officially start painting. Although not this weekend, because tomorrow we are driving to Vancouver Wa, for my granddaughters 3rd birthday. At first the plan was to eat whatever but I'm so close so I'm going prepared. It will be a BBQ, so I will plan for that. Take a snack or two and water. Digging through garage for a cooler to put stuff in.
My love still hasn't been transferred to work release as we had thought would happen in June. He called last night to cheer me on, it will happen when it happens, D.O.C works on their time schedule and no use trying to guess when that will be. So maybe sometime in July. I can only focus on what I can control and currently that is my way of eating and me. Here is to July and getting closer to goal of 299 or surpassing it.

Hello from Boston! Visited John Adams park and have included a pic of Peacefield the home where John and Abigail retired. Lisa you’ll love this, she bought it sight unseen not realizing it was completely ruined during revolutionary war (she was abroad at the time). When she returned home she got her first look at it—seeing it in ruins she fell to her knees and cried (oh no not another fixer upper!). Anyway she rolled up her sleeves, added onto the house and planted roses in the back-one plant is still growing (no visible flowers though- sorry Margaret).
The wing chair is the actual chair John Adams had a stroke in right before he died in his favorite room, the study of course.

Hello, Gorgeous Girls!
Hey there from Texas... I am still breathing over here... still doing my thing - and I miss you guys.
I keep up with some of you on the newsfeed - but,, alas, I miss a lot there. So, while I have a spare moment to breathe, I thought I would drop in.
This year, we are gardening - I had half of the cutest little watermelon you have ever seen for breakfast - as ripe and sweet as any you have ever tasted. The whole thing was the size of a softball. Later on, I will go out and harvest some regular and some lemon cucumbers.
We have been cooking with a variety of fresh peppers - Santa Fe, Cubanelle, Anaheim... Peppers like it here and don't seem to suffer from the heat, at all. Alas, you can't overwater zuccini and other squash plants. All of those died, due to the abnormally rainy weather we are having.
The drip watering system has only one drawback: you can't really customize according to the plant, much... you can only hope that number of minutes and times that it drips works for everything. There are some drippers that drip more or less - but I would have to re-work the whole system and replace ALL the drippers to get the kind of variation I need. The squash need about a quarter of the water that peppers and tomatoes need... so, next year, or maybe for a fall crop, I will switch out the bulk of the drippers for 2 gallon ones, and leave the squash with half gallon size... then I can turn the drip time way down on everything and it should save the squash.
But, we salvaged what squash we could before the last of the plants went down - and had a feast of grilled vegetables - including squash, eggplant and peppers from out garden. I brush some olive oil on, season liberally and lay them over a charcoal grill to cook them. Awesomeness!
I spent several days putting up a support system for bird netting, this year, and it appears that this weekend will also see the first harvest from our tomato plants - ever. I have grown tomatoes in the past - along with red bell peppers, the Mockingbirds seem to have an issue with them. Anything showing the first signs of red gets pecked to death... so this year, I decided the birds were NOT going to get the best of me. It looks like my first tomato will be picked, today, along with the cucumbers. I have my cottage cheese ranch dip all ready! I am excited.
I really like the fact that I get excited about fresh veggies, rather than pie or cake, now... lol.
Work is still work, and I am still at the bank, although my job duties seem to fluctuate quarterly. I am fine with that - so long as I keep getting paid, they can have me clean the darned bathrooms, for all I care. But, the worry about being laid off is constant... it never quite goes away. I will just keep on doing the best work I can and hope for the best.
I have been working with a personal trainer - since January - and I actually did a short set (4) of dead lifts at 135 - which was my first goal. Onward to 175! Although, I am sad that my trainer is giving it up for a full time position as front desk manager at the gym, so, now I have to find someone else who is smart and capable and can take my jovial bitching with aplomb.
Camryn has given me a couple of folks that she says would be good - and we are going to do joint sessions with them over the next week or so to get a feel for each other. I just hope that one of them will click. I certainly don't want anybody who is going to give me the "granny" version of working out, or try to steer me toward less strenuous things because I am a chick. I really hope that I can find someone who will push me, but not injure me... as Camryn has done. I must say, I have learned to LOATHE the boat pose - but it does what it was meant to do.
The hubby is well - and is actively working toward losing weight - although not in the same way that I do. He is all about just trying to eat less (without actually logging) and exercise more - including 16 miles a day on the stationary bike. He has one at home, so that he can make sure to get his miles in, even when our schedules are crazy. Me, I am happy to get in 30-40 minutes of cardio a day and keep my strength training up. I am sort of in a maintenance zone, right now - but, I am good with that, somewhat. I am thinking it's time to pull myself back together for a slightly more concerted effort to make progress - but, I am not quite there, today.
Just trying to hold my ground and not get discouraged by the way my body behaves. The Puffy Princess is currently in residence - I am showing about five pounds up on the scale from the last recorded weight of 175 - but, the Royal Pain comes and goes as she pleases - so I try not to take it personally. For now, I am content in my size 14 tunic - the leggings are 12/14 - and if I never get any smaller, so be it. It's SOOO much better than size 5X.
Happy Birthday, Allie!
Hugs, Becca - I totally feel your Sister drama. I have some of that, myself.
Carol - sorry the gel shots didn't work for you... I am thinking I am going to have to go in and get a new round - it has been about a year, now - and my knees, also bone on bone, are starting to protest, again. Glad the cortisone gives you some relief.
Kitty - I have been where you are. You really have got this... You will make it to 299 and then 199. I have faith.
Hugs and Love to all!

Poor DD. After the truck incident yesterday today we were repairing fence and putting up some t-posts. She lifted the driver too high and it came back and hit her on the head. She has a really big goose egg but I took her to Acute care and they checked her out and did x-rays. No concussion or cracked skull thank goodness but this has not been a good week for her. Rain this afternoon and the puppy is going stircrazy.
Allie - Happy, happy birthday!!!
Machka - Glad your DH is able to come home.
Kim - Yeah for increased business.
Re - Missed you. come back again soon.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA5 -
RE- so thrilled you popped in to see us! Thank you for the update and yes, you look tres chic!! Sounds like your garden is doing great - I am jealous as you are at least 2 months ahead of us.
NYKaren - you get to see the neatest places, I love the old history like that.
RVRita - are you going to post a photo of you in Winslow, AZ? Maybe you already did and I missed it, lol.
Sophie's vet visit went well, she's in great shape for her dental on July 12th. Only a couple teeth need to come out and that's because of receding gums - trying to avoid future trouble. She'll still be able to chew hard kibble since her back grinders will remain and canines as well. She gained .4 lbs.... after being on a "diet" for 6 weeks. Doc said she wasn't overweight and we agreed it must be muscle from all the exercise she's getting, lol.
We also talked about CBD. He said one of the vets in his clinic knows a lot about it and works with clients. Told him what I was doing for Sophie with the couple drops of CBD for fireworks anxiety and he said it sounded fine -- THC can be tricky for the pupsters but I'm not giving her any of that. We did have a brief conversation about utilizing actual medical cannabis blends if she ended up with something that needed to be monitored closely like seizures or cancer - glad I have a vet that's savvy like that.
She ate her 2 drops of CBD on supper just fine so I'm anxious for the fireworks to start so we can test it!
Have a cool evening ladies!

Tracy in Edmonton, good plan not getting involved with the neighborhood bullies! They can be nasty!
Allie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Kate, UK, your garden looks lovely!
Busy day at work today which means the day pretty much flew by and that's always a good thing! Trying to get caught up with June's posts so that I can get started with July. I've not been doing well with the eating portion of my quest to be healthier. I shall endeavor to start anew, with the beginning of a new month. Went to a local farm and got some fresh strawberries, oh my!! Little red bites of pure heaven! Also bought some fresh blueberries and raspberries. Very yummy!

Carol bone-on-bone knees Hope the shots and the PT exercises give you some relief.
Tracey in Edmonton, be careful you don't slip on the "neighborhood bully" poop.
pip True saying that! Feeling trapped working for people who don't value you can make you sick. It hurts my heart  to hear of your situation, too much like what happened to a lot of the people I worked with before I retired. First came the unmeetable response time "goals", then the merger/layoff announcements. People were paralyzed in denial. IMHO taking any action is better than that. Even though you think you can't or don't want to look for another job, maybe taking tiny steps as if you were starting a second career would take back some of your power. Just suggestions, like find your last resume, or update it with your current job description or cruise the job sites or design your dream job. If all else fails, fantasize applying your boot where it would do the most good on her!
Kitty in Federal Way Great saying! We CAN do this!
NYKaren thanks for the Peacefield pics. The more I learn about the Adamses, the more I admire both.
Re in TX size 14 tunic? Brava! Jealous of your cucumbers and melons, ours are just getting to transplantable size ;}
Time to get those knee exercises in before the new month.
Sleep sweet, lovelies!

Kate UK - Just wanted to say, love your colours! They are just the same as mine and I feel happy in them. I call them "jewel" colours.
Pip - feeling it with you. Thank goodness you have your exercise to burn off the frustration.

Machka, I am behind in reading but I am so happy to see your husband is home I know there's a lot of progress yet to be made, but this is remarkable and a testament to his level of fitness before the accident.
