Just Give Me 10 Days - Round 48

This is my 1st Round, female, 65 years old, 5'6", live in the Pacific Northwest. Original weight was 266 lbs.
I lost 40 lbs when I was out of work during the last economic downturn but gained it back once I started working again. So I feel like the recent loss is the real thing because I am losing while working full-time and I am still doing some parenting despite being an almost empty-nester. My daughter is home and applying to transfer to a college in town.
Goals
1. stay under calorie goal and tweek meals
2. up water intake
3. increase exercise
4. get enough sleep
Day/Weight/Comment
7/27: 259 up a bit from early in the week but I have been slowly losing; my weight fluctuates alot so we'll see about tomorrow.
7/28 253.6 It may seem like a lot to lose in a day but I was down to 255 earlier in the week. I am staying under my calorie goal but am staying closer to it, I am doing slightly better with water intake, However with a night meeting and after work appointment I ate out a bit more than I like. So hoping to cook at home all this week.Just back from my Saturday morning Aquafit class.

Actually lost well last round. For me, losing more than a # in a round is amazing. It helped of course that I was just undoing the gains of the two rounds before. That’s where this challenge is so great. Keeps you on track.
8th Round for me: Female 65, height – 5’
Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, loss -.2
Round 40 – on holidays, gain +1.6
Round 41 – SW 164.4, loss -2
Round 42 - SW: 162.6, loss -.6
Round 43 – SW 162, loss -.4
Round 44 – SW 161.6, loss -1.6
Round 45 – SW 160.8, gain +1
Round 46 – SW 161.8, gain +.6
Round 47 – SW 162.4, loss -2.2
Round 48 – SW 160.2, GW 159
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128
Day/Weight/Comment
7/27, Friday – 160.2 Getting ready for a trip but decided I’d better hang in there and log what I can. If I can plan carefully and work through my list of things to do hopeful can have a good trip and keep the weight down. I’m visiting my kids & grandkids who mostly eat very well. There is a lot of driving though and those days are not so good. I did buy an excellent cooler though so I can avoid the fast food and stop at rest stops. Just takes a little planning. Determined to leave the 160’s behind.

Quilting Jane: I don't know how to make your name turn color blue when I answer you so I hope you find this:
My son is doing well. He weighs in about every 7 to 10 days (he refuses to see the ups and downs of daily weigh-in in the challenges.) He just turned 22 years old but is more like a teenager in mentality. He is a joy. He has lost 21.8 pounds so far (since May 1, 2018). I do the keto diet which also helps with my blood sugars. He does strictly calories in / calories out due to such rough food disorders (sensory). Although he is bigger than me, his weight loss has been a bit slower. Partly the type of diet, partly that I am more active. However, I think he is doing great and he has not given up yet. This is what I hoped when I put him strictly on the low calorie diet. That he would see he can eat anything but in the right quantity. He is learning to eat or drink lower calorie foods in order to get the quantities he feels he needs so that is great! If he was diabetic I would have to look at the Atkins or Keto for him for his blood glucose. Thank goodness we are catching this weight before it's too late and he becomes T2D like me! Thanks so much for asking. I will continue to post his weight in the challenges as he weighs in.4 -

Last round before I head off on my holidays and would love to be 133 something - high start weight this round due to a weekend away and being bloated as a result so not a "true" start weight and expect this to initially drop fairly rapidly.
7/27 - 136.80 so 1.8lb of wedding bloat gone. Hot here again today so really need to make sure I keep up my water intake again - sensible dinner planned - out tonight for the girls cheerleading awards night but will be driving so happy to stick to drinking soda water - just need to stay away from the buffet table!
7/28 - 136.0.... going slowly.... and only had fruit and some popcorn off the buffet table last night plus loads of soda water so feel a bit bloated this morning. Off up to London today for the Freecycle - love this - we do it every year - the roads in central London are all shut off to traffic so you can cycle freely all round central London Not fast as loads of families and kids join in, but we usually cover around 25 miles so a reasonably active day ahead

-Pre-plan the night before and make sure you have all of your ingredients at home and follow through.
-Workout at least 3 times a week (Goal of running at least 4 minutes straight at 6.5 mph)
Day/Weight/Comment
7/27- 195.0- Good start. Let's keep going! No more eating out. I'm going to plan out everything I'm going to eat tomorrow and follow through since I'm the one making food.
7/28- 194.8- I'm glad it's still going in the right direction. Still doing well. My grandparents are coming over tomorrow and staying for a week so I don't know how that's going to affect this but it shouldn't too much to be honest. We'll see. Still going to stay under.

I'm late but I'm in! I did a round at the beginning of July but have been on holiday since. Holidays ended yesterday and I have to get back on track starting today. I swam pretty much every day while away but ate and drank way to much, so I managed to gain a few pounds

Round 48. In for my second time and loving the 10-day challenge. It's inspiring to see everyone here with many rounds completed and others who are just getting started like me.
Round 48 goals: 10,000 steps per day. In bed by 11 pm.
7/27- 152.5 - 13,000 steps, plus some extra exercise. Made time for breakfast and remembered to pack a healthy lunch.
7/28 -152 - 12,000 steps. Attended a wedding today. The food was not my style, so no trouble to not overindulge. Nearly two weeks of consistent exercise has sure made me feel better.

7/29 - 179.0 (+0.2) Maybe this is because of all the salt I have been eating to survive this heat 🤭 Had a great work out friday and saturday. My body is super sore today.

Gained so much weight, I'm upset but still motivated. I woke up early (6.00 am) and walked 3.1 km (4300 steps). The breakfast was good I hope the rest of the day will be good too. Cannot wait to see lower weights...
7/28 84.6 kg (186.5 lbs)
I feel really motivated and strong. I bought a smoothie blender. I'll make healthy and nutritious smoothies rather than junk food anymore. And also yesterday I didn't drink alcohol even I went to a bar. Moreover, I walked 10.2 km I'm feeling good.
7/29 84.3 kg (185.8 lbs)
Going well... Yesterday I made two delicious smoothies, one of them is kinda desert (banana, soy milk, almonds and nuts and chia seeds, you should try!). I took a little more calories however, I walked 5 km (12000 steps), so the calorie intake was ok.

Day/Weight/Comment
7/27 - 188.2 - I got kicked out of ketosis and ate like it for a few days. I'm less concerned with the weight gain, knowing that it is mostly water, but I am bothered by how physically awful I feel. One positive outcome of the last few days, it reaffirmed that I feel better physically eating low carb. I am back on track today and excited to get back to it.
7/28 - 187.3 - I ate low carb but didn't track. I was short on my water yesterday. Today's goals will be to eat LCHF and hit my water goal.
7/29 - 187.0 - I did better with my water intake yesterday and stayed on track with LCHF. Today I am going to go try to add back in some exercise.
