Happy Birthday Kim! :flowerforyou:

Drkatie - I did the quiz and came out as a Ladybug. That is accurate. Everything looks tidy and clean on the surface, but in hidden places there is a hideous mess. Story of my life!
The cure, apparently, is to pre-organise the places where I hide things, so I've bought a cutlery drawer to put in the desk drawer I cleared out this morning. I did find my gall stones. Keeping those. They are yellow pyramids.
I also emptied a bag containing a very old laptop and early digital camera. They are for the dump. Lots of connecting leads.
Then I set myself to winnow out the DVDs. Coolected a huge bag to take to the charity shop. Just kept a few very favourite foreign films and one or two of DH's purchases.
The charity shop was delighted to get my tinsel, spiral Christmas tree, which they will use in the window for Christmas. Plus a good leather belt and an evening purse made of brass and copper. I like it, but I'll never wear it.
So a very good day on the decluttering front.

Cheri - We are with you.
And Kim, HAPPY BIRTHDAY for whatever actual day it is! :drinker:
Just made Spinach and Feta Pie. I was sooooooooooooo tired I had to rope DH in to help me. Now he is dismantling the laptop.

Lanette: I haven't seen fog lately, but DH is up earlier than I am and he has seen what he calls "summer morning fog." It has been gone by the time I get up. I have noticed a change in the weather to more of a late summer/early fall pattern. :flowerforyou: I am so glad you sent the links for "The Skinny on Fat." I watched every episode and found the messages to be supportive of the way I have been eating. I can't digest real butter or milk unless it has been stripped of lactose, and I'm grateful for all the cartons of lactose free milk at the grocery stores.
Rita: I hope you enjoy your trip to Idaho. Do you have a specific destination in mind or are you planning to sample this and that? We have family in Idaho--adult nieces and nephews. Perhaps you can go to Yellowstone while you're there. It touches Idaho near Ashton and West Yellowstone. :flowerforyou: DH has been diabetic since he was in his late teens. He tells me that a fasting blood sugar should be between 80 and 120. It looks like you'll be "in the zone." Let us know if you feel better from the change you're planning.
SueBDew: Welcome back!
Kim: Happy Birthday! Good for you for being clear with friends and family about your preferences.
Barbie: I hope your call to the doctor will result in you feeling better.
Machka: "If you're on a phone, and you shift the phone slightly, you'll lose your post. Long ones are best typed on a computer (laptop, desktop, etc.)." This fits my experience, too. I record all my eating and exercise on my phone, but when I want to communicate with the group I use my computer.
Karen UK: I envy your good luck that all of your children live nearby. Mine are far away.
Penny: The young man who guessed your age was observant enough to realize you are youthful and in good health, so he guessed a lower age number.
(((Cheri))) Sending good thoughts.
Heather: I had my gallbladder our years ago. I had only one gallstone, but it was the size of a robin's egg. I have felt a lot better without the gallbladder and the stone.
Yoga today! Yay!!! Tomorrow will be busy with medical appointments for DH and car service for both of our cars.

Well, well, well. Was too tired to eat my evening protein boost bowl of yoghurt with honey and dark chocolate, so only got 42g of protein... BUT... for the first time EVER, came in under the MFP sugar goal... AND, weighed in 2.5 lbs less this morning. Only posted 1 lb loss in check in, but v. encouraged. So encouraged that I stopped at 1 cup of honeyed tea this morning, instead of my usual 3. Might make Alondrate days "added-sugar fast" days.
Lisa thank you for going "all philosophical" on the subject. Your perceptions are both wise and welcome. emails back to 2014 "in her inbox". Oh my.
Machka you are the tigress defending your hubs and your home. Brava! Wish I could fill out your forms and file for you, that is right up my alley.
Margaret ((hugs)) what an awful time that was! "..no clue what that person is going through" when someone treats us ill, amen sister!
NYKaren your "white coat syndrome" to Vickie is right on. Another element is manual vs machine. Whenever nurse takes my BP the old fashioned way, it's just fine, but that danged machine makes it skyrocket. Good for you for monitoring, avoiding the meds. Don't want anything to mess up your big trip!
Katla wish you had a riding buddy so you could go on the trail, but glad you're taking the safe route. Enjoy!
Rye can you archive all 90+day old emails from your inbox to a "history" archive just before the monthly inbox purge? My personal emails go back to 2002, but in folders, mostly ;} Past time to purge some of those but I'd better spend my time decluttering the office/exercise/music/crafts/sewing/omigosh room. At worked I had archives back to the company's first e-mail-from-telex system, but as the systems changed the archives gradually became inaccessible. ;(
Lanette Gravenstein apples, love their scent!
Kim what a great birthday gift to give yourself, and reminder to the rest of us to Ask "What would you like" and LISTEN to the answer ;}
Barbie fingers Xd the Dr. has a good plan. Brava for finding such a positive outlet for your energy.
Rebecca love your son's truck! Has it really been in the shop for over a year?
pip glad you're taking care of yourself. Wise woman! Hope you feel better soon. Smooch, smooch, SMOOCH those pooches!
Cheri pockets full of us. hang in there.
Welcome Angel1960, let us know what you'd like to be called and generally where you are.
Lighter, lovelies!

Yep its been in the shop for over a year! The fact that he was out to sea at the beginning part, and that my son gave him a boatload of money before he left probably didn't help! He was under qualified to work on such a big project. It was an engine swap, and it involved making the truck have a wider wheel base to support the engine. Then it involved the guy making wheel fenders. He was having to get someone to weld parts, so my son has the patience of a saint!
Now I just want him to finish before winter comes! My son is riding 10 miles every day.

Just found the tail of what was presumably a fairly large lizard in my tennis shoe, where Egg was peering, which was what drew my attention. I evicted said body part, which made her very frustrated. I'd be OK with the whole thing if I knew where the rest of the blinking thing is...
Lisa,

cityjaneLondon wrote: »Heard today after DH rang them AGAIN that the title deeds and fixtures and fittings are at last with our solicitors. After they've checked them through for any problems they will send them on to us, so we should get them to sign sometime next week. DH told them he was not at all amused that they don't keep their promises to ring us back.
So it's some kind of progress. I think we are too far down the line to sack them as they have all the paperwork done for our sale. We will report back to our agents and maybe on some kind of feedback system.
Decluttering de-stresses me and makes me feel I am doing something. As well as boxes of paper I also got my old dolls out, the ones I wrote about in my memoir. I'm not getting rid of those and have a lot of doll's clothes as well. Also I found some seminal clothes from my past. The shirt I made for myself to have my three babies in. The dress I met my first husband in. The rugby shirt of his I wore to a party. Keeping those for now. All those things are in a nice wicker basket.
What I am getting rid of is my grandmother’s embroidery and crochet lace collection. She didn't make it, just bought it. I have put it on Freecycle and have had two replies. The first reply was from a pensioner's crafting club, so I'm pleased it's going to a good home. The lace pieces are lovely.
I can imagine lovely cushions or quilts, but I'm too lazy to make them.

My daughter and I have been buying old doilies at antique fairs for her wedding next summer. I had about 6 that were made by my Grandmother and a Great Aunt. She is making a doily table runner for the head table and the guest tables will all have one on a tray with antique medicine bottles, whiskey bottles and an ink bottle. Each bottle will hold baby's breath I believe.
