Round 46 End Weight = 159.6 (5.2 lbs lost)

Stats = 5'4 female, age 48
Highest Weight = 172 lbs
Initial Goal Weight = 139 lbs (last weighed this is 2013)
Ultimate Goal Weight = 129 lbs (last weighed this in 2011)
Round 49 Goal: to be in the 153's
Exercise Plan = The Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge (in week 3-4 of 12), run outside 3-4 times a week, get 8,000-10,000 steps/weekday
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
8/06 - Weight = 155.2 (no change from yesterday) Yesterday was one of those days where you are super busy, but just don't feel like you get anything done. Somehow it was 6:00 p.m. and I hadn't even worked out, so I got my day 17 of 90 exercises in which was a really fun one: Down Dog Flow, Alternating Squat Lunges, Fighter Combo: Jab/ Cross/Jab/Knee, Reverse Table Top Triceps Dips, Prisoner Squats, Total Core Domination: V-Sit Ups Rolled to Supermans and Roll Back/Repeat), & Surfer Pop Ups. At the end I was super sweaty and so thought might as well go for a run, I can't get any hotter. It was still hovering around 90 but I was able to get a quick run in. Dinner last night was gluten-heavy, which I limit and only have maybe once a week. It was delicious but I felt like a brick was sitting in my stomach after, even though I was well within my calories. It just isn't worth it. I also had a realization yesterday, I've lost 16 pounds so far and have 16 more to go to be at my initial goal weight - Hooray! for the half-way point. Let's start this round off strong everyone

8/06- 227.2 Yikes. Didn’t get to check in the last two days and late weigh in yesterday giving me a round end of 225.6. I thought that was bad enough given I was logging 223s in the days before. Today the weekend continues to catch up with me. I know I didn’t gain 1.6lbs overnight but it’s a hard pill to swallow. It’s messing with my head so much I even considered sitting out this round. I’m here though. Hopefully the water retention will work itself or the next two days.
@L2HS I'm glad you stuck with us. My last 4 rounds have been gains which feels disheartening, but I'm in it to win it. If I ghost it won't help me reach my goals nor will I receive the encouragement we have with this wonderful group.11 -

I'm back...I was away for the last couple of rounds. My kitchen has been under renovation since the first week of July and I have been without a kitchen and in an upheaval since then. I have basically been eating at maintenance as I lived through the renovation. Considering all the stress and the difficulty in making meals, I am happy to say that I am basically at the same weight now as when I started the renovation. Even though the kitchen won't be completed until tomorrow, YAAAAA!!!, and we still have to get the kitchen organized, I am ready to get back at losing. (I thought I had posted yesterday, but I can't find my post.)
Goals:
1. Beat sister-in-law in weekly step competition
2. Do some form of intentional exercise 7 of 10 days
3. Get water in
Day/Weight/Comment
08/06--222.8 Went to the in-laws this weekend, so there is definitely an uptick due to increased sodium from eating out. The positive is that my sister-in-law and I, we both have Garmin watches, are now in a weekly step competition with each other, so that will definitely be a motivation to get more steps in this week. I'm going out for a walk at lunch and then Zumba tonight. Making sure to get my water in today.

8/06 - Monday - 192.8 - Late night emotional eating got me last night. Got a little overwhelmed by all the boxes and moving and change and just mindlessly snacked on anything I could get my hands on after dinner. Logged it all and moving on today. TOM still imminent. Chocolate cravings are slightly less thanks to magnesium lotion. But I'm pretty moody and letting my food choices get the better of me. Lots of water today! I did manage to make dinner for tonight while food prepping last night. It will also be lunch for tomorrow. I know I'm stressing because I woke up with a costochondroiditis flare up - aka feels like an elephant sitting on my chest. And my sciatica flared up yesterday but that is feeling better today. But man, stress really does manifest itself physically for me if I'm not mindful! Taking today and tomorrow relatively easy while we await more moving boxes to be delivered and final word on closing date. I'm really happy I feel physically fit enough to do the move ourselves - 4 months ago I would have laughed at the thought.

Chocolate cravings are slightly less thanks to magnesium lotion.
Please tell us about Mangesium lotion. I haven't heard of this. How does it stop the chocolate cravings? Where do you get it? How do you use it? How long have you been trying this and do you feel it's been consistently effective? Thanks for the info.

It’s messing with my head so much I even considered sitting out this round. I’m here though.
Stay with us. We all have our bumps and whooshes. Water retention is so common (even with certain diet meals!) You are keeping it honest with yourself and with us. Just keep logging, trying and realizing we are all human and our bodies run on delays. Together, we can do this!

@deepwoodslady, Dark chocolate is high in magnesium. It is said if you crave chocolate, you need magnesium. I avoid saying everyone, so 99% of people are deficient in magnesium. I use magnesium oil as part of my electrolytes and for sore muscles, achy joints and SLEEP!
Magnesium deficiency covers a variety of ailments.
@MadisonMolly2017, Shrinking is good! Congrats on the loose skinny jeans!5 -

I originally got it because I was having inexplainable leg cramps despite decent potassium levels. I found it at my local health food shop - but you can get it online too. This is the one I have been using, https://www.amazon.com/Life-Flo-Magnesium-Supplement-Zechstein-Relaxation/dp/B00K5QUAIG . I've been using it for about 2 months. It helps me sleep through the night - I was able to stop taking melatonin and actually sleep even better now. I rub my calves, and feet with a dime size amount before bed. I also have been using it as deodorant. Oddly enough it's working better than any antiperspirant or deodorant I've ever used and doesnt have funky stuff in it or any odor at all really. I also use it when I get migraines, massage a small amount on my temples. Period cramps, lower back pain, and general aches and pains it has helped with greatly. It's not as strong as say...lidocaine products but it gives a little tingly feeling that you know it's working and gives some relief. I just noticed that my chocolate cravings have greatly subsided too - I used to crave it in huge amount around TOM, but now it's more subtle. I originally got the lotion because I take so many other pills I didn't feel like adding another - but the lotion turns out to be much more versatile for me.4 -

@tiabirdie56 Thanks Tish!
And congratulations on your big wt loss this week!!!
Also, I eat 1/2 oz 82% dark choc at breakfast & by 4 pm each day with my latte. I originally began this to help my iron... good to know re: magnesium, too.
Feels like a treat, still, and my blood glucose remains very low!
PS I never liked dark choc before, but if you let it melt in your mouth, it’s great- also slows down the eating experience!6 -

@AJB1014, I bought magnesium oil originally to use as a deodorant! Over time (18months) I began using it for other areas of my body. I did not know that there was magnesium lotion. If I had, I would have bought and used it on my Grandson's eczema. I could have made some as a matter of fact. I use and buy all types of oils and butters, but because on initial use it will sting on your skin, I didn't want to cause him more discomfort. It's good to know from others who use it, how it works for them.
@MadisonMolly2017, Thank you! I was really surprised with my weight loss the entire month of July. I always liked dark chocolate, but only up to 70%. Now, I have learned to even enjoy 100% cacao. You only need a very small amount (shavings really) of that to be satisfied. It's very bitter and will surely break anyone of a sugary chocolate habit. I have a couple of bars of 85% chocolate around, but I have no desire for any of it.3
