Go Pip and Kirby in the Silver bullet!
Heather, what a lovely place to run and listen to music and stories.
Rita, there is a strange similarity in that smile of you and the stone dragon lion!

The trip to Wray and Estes Park was great. My Mom enjoyed visiting with cousins from California that attended for the first time. Family members in Wray got a new horse for their daughter. She was excited to help me ride Candy. I was happy to see they had a tall mounting block.
We celebrated my Mom’s 90th birthday a little early. Her sister baked a fabulous German chocolate cake.

After a few days at home, I am now at my Mom’s dog sitting my brother’s 2 dogs. They are each 60 lbs and I walk them separately. They can be a handful, have not been fully trained and like to jump on people.
They were dumped at Mom’s and my brother had adopted them. He named them Bonnie & Clyde.

coastalGosgal - love the sign!
Pip - you’ve gotta be fairly close to me in Issaquah. I know that fairground. There is some great riding up in that area. I did it on a motorcycle. I’m not brave enough for bicycling! My two eldest daughters and their families live in Oak Harbor
Cathy - your mom looks very chipper!
I got out early to grocery. Our store allows you to pre-order groceries, etc, including directions for produce needs like “small apples only” or “latest use by date available please”. Then you choose a pickup time, and phone the number on your pickup slot. They bring the stuff out and load your car.
That keeps me from wandering the aisles being tempted by all the random goodies. It saves me money AND bad choices.8 -

1. Log EVERY day - Water, food and exercise.
2. Get in at least 600 steps every day, even if I have to wander around the house to do it.
3. Get at least 64 oz a day in liquids.
4. Lose 4 lbs.
I’m having real trouble recalling which name goes with which situation! To the gal who is noticing more facial wrinkles as she loses: How is your hydration going? That can cause wrinkling.
I found that so hard on this thread! I now write notes as I go when I’m using a computer. The days I use my phone I use the quote button lol1 -
kelly - I smelled a “flower bud” when I was little. I don’t know what they ate called they are a little yellow bud on a weed. I ended up having to be taken to emergency to have it removed. I warn all kids about smelling things lol1

Well, we’re back. Getting there was something else. When we were over St. Kitts, twice the pilot aborted the landing. Then he comes over the intercom telling us that we need to go to St. Croix to get more fuel. Then he comes on the intercom saying “I know I said we needed to go to St. Croix but we’re in St. Martin. Oh, and one of our pilots began work at 4 this morning so by our calculations we’ll be in St. Kitts at 4:02. He can only work until 4." I know the FAA is VERY strict about this. But we did make it on time. Boy, did the pilot really step on it.
By the time we landed, it was too late to get the rental car so Jess just spent the night at the hotel with us. The next day we got the car from Hertz. Before we left Vince called AmEx to tell them we’d be out of the country and they said for St. Kitts we didn’t have to tell them. So…he figured he didn’t need to tell any other credit card company. We get to the rental place and he goes to pay with AmEx, only they don’t accept AmEx. Now he booked the car with AmEx. But this place didn’t take it to rent the car. So he tried calling another credit card company and told them we were out of the country, but evidentially it took a while to get it into their system that we were out of the country. So we wound up putting it on Jess’ card (we’ll pay her back). Then they tell Vince that for $25 he has to get a St. Kitts driver’s license. This wasn’t told to him when he rented the car. Jess has a St. Kitts drivers license but if she was the primary driver, we couldn’t do anything while she was in class. So he paid the $25. That's something he's never had to do
Now he’s rented cars in the UK (where they drive on the left) so he was fully expecting that the car would have the steering wheel on the right since they drive on the left. Seems that for US drivers they give them cars with the steering wheel on the left (even tho they drive on the left). So I was the official lookout to see if he can pass someone. And their roads are NARROW. The other drivers are crazy.
Even tho I took exercise clothes with me, my tablet, my iPod I did mostly walking – along the beach, up and down the road, exploring the Marriott Residences and the Marriott where we were staying.
I’m sure there’s lots to catch up on, so I’ll be skimming. Apologies to anyone I miss. Before I get started let me say welcome to all the new members, congrats to those who lost. I honestly don’t know what my weight is. I didn’t eat the way I normally do. Like normally I would have unflavored yogurt with some honey or fruit in it. Well, the only yogurt they had was with the fruit (and sugar) added. I didn’t have a choice.
One night Jess took us to this place where she said they have good food. Only they were closed. It was dark, the road was VERY narrow, cars parked, it was very nerve-wracking for Vince. When we got back to the hotel he wanted to go to this pizza shack place. I wasn’t going to insist we eat somewhere else after all he’d been thru so I wound up having a veggie calzone. That’s not something I’d normally have, but there wasn’t much choice.
On the way home we had a layover in Miami so I got what they said was a turkey and swiss. I have never in my life had such horrible turkey. It was so dry. I honestly wonder if it really was turkey, it seemed more like a beef.
The ceremony was very nice. I’ll post pics when we get them taken care of. Jess told us it started at 3 only we get there and they won’t start seating us until 4. The ceremony didn’t start until 4:30. I guess they were waiting to stream it. Afterwards there was a small reception. I had mostly cheese, some veggie pizza bites, grapes, I tried the fish cakes but wasn’t real crazy about them. Plus...we find out that the a/c was on the fritz (in the Caribbean, mind you) and that they "were working on it". They must have gotten it somewhat fixed because it wasn't stifling in the auditorium
Boy, immigration and customs in St. Kitts is REALLY strict. I had a SMALL bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocketbook. Don’t ask me to explain this, but they went thru all my toiletries (which were in a clear gallon bag), took anything that was a liquid out, then made me buy a quart ziploc bag to put them in, only to have me put the bag in the gallon bag. You explain that, except get the $$$ for the bag. They put the hand sanitizer in the bag. Yet, they also put my deodorant in it and the deodorant wasn’t a liquid. They threw out my toothpaste. I thought it was only liquids that had to be 3oz or less. Oh well…I have more toothpaste. Yet, Vince had a large tube of toothpaste and they let him go thru. Vince and I got prechecked, but in St. Kitts they still made us take off our shoes etc. For some reason, Jess didn’t get the precheck.
One of the times we were at Ross, this girl came in the student union with a Whidby sweatshirt on. Rebecca – I was so proud of myself because I knew that Washington was Washington state and not Washington DC
Heather – there was a big cricket match while we were in St. Kitts. We actually met one of the co-owners of the St. Kitts team in the elevator. I thought of you while Vince was trying to figure out the rules
We didn’t get home until 2 in the morning yesterday. I didn’t exercise yesterday since I didn’t want to get all sweated. Normally, I got sweated but they went in the pool and cooled off. Well, I didn’t want my bathing suit to be all wet when we packed it so I forwent the exercise. I also didn’t exercise today since I didn’t get to bed until after 4. But we did cut the grass today.
Pip – congrats on reaching your goal
Margaret – I’m just going to give the school the notebooks and pens. We do itemize, but I can’t be bothered asking for a receipt.
Got our tickets for TSO while we were in St. Kitts. Problem was when Vince went to pay for them, the credit card co. wouldn’t approve the charge because we were out of the country. So I just put it on one of my credit cards that I hadn’t told them I was out of the country and the charge went thru no problem.
Allie – yugh about the umbrella, but glad you’re getting a new one
Barbie – love the “September is the new January”. Thanks for all you do. Glad you’re feeling better
Lisa – been following your blog with rapt interest.
Rye – the Wii Fit CAN be somewhat uppety at times
I understand it’ll take a while to get off “island time”. Had a great time, tho.
ElizabethGA – adorable puppy, love the name
While on St. Kitts we took this tour of the island, quite interesting. Got to see another part of the island you don’t normally see. We stopped at this small place to get a drink. There was this “scent” in the air that I hadn’t smelled since college. Yup, they were really getting stoned. The guy who was our guide just turned me away from the smoke….lol As if we didn’t know what was going on!!! Wanted to take another tour but this being off season made it hard. They had to have a minimum of 6 to 8 to have the tour and it is really hard to get.
The ceremony was on Monday, on Tuesday there were very few people in the pool. Well, most of the Ross parents probably left, the cricket players left.
Rori – Mars is such a good supervisor! Bet he made sure it was done right…lol Love what you’ve done – or should I say what Mars did?
Mary – so sorry about your keys
Loved all the pics
Suebdew – glad to hear visio is getting better. I was worried about you
Pip – very proud of you
Cathy – two of our cats are named Bonnie and Clyde, too

Some time ago, someone asked what I was doing about my arthritic feet.
One of the things I'm doing is rolling a spiky ball under them. I set the ball on the floor, put my foot on it, and roll it around. It was advised I put a heat pack on my feet first, then do that, and sometimes I do, but I'll just sit at my computer and roll the ball without pre-heating my feet too.

Heather, Even I might consider running if I had a beautiful lane such as yours to run in. Love it!

Talked to youngest Navy son this afternoon. He graduated from A school with honors. So proud of that kid💗! Sadly he won't likely get leave before he goes to Japan, and I am really sad about that.. I had a good cry earlier, I just miss him so! Its been since last Christmas since I saw him. Now even longer. I told him to take a pic of his boot camp pic.
