Trooworld I like muscle soreness cause it reminds me that I worked hard. Although not the kind I get after the first day of lunges. Just getting up and down off the toilet is a major deal. lol That’s great that you are back at it. Thanks for the slow cooker meal

TeresaW1020. I just have a regular flower garden. Mostly dead one. It’s been a hot summer. I was doing a lot of clean up. But I enjoy it. I just have to watch my sun exposure after a little bout with skin cancer. I miss the days of just being out in the sun enjoying the rays. I hope your knee feels better. Seems to be always something that pops up to impede our progress

Gemwolf. Kickboxing sounds fun. I’ve tried it a couple of times. Woohoo on already seeing some improvements.

I did 30 min Leslie Sansone video and 23 min walking. Went over calories by 80

    Lost 1.1 this week.

Hey everyone, it’s been a rollercoaster ride these past few days, just have this tremendous urge to say what the hell, I lost weight, this should be enough, really need something to motivate me right now. Still going to the gym for my workouts but feel I am not giving my 100%.dont know why suddenly there is a huge drop in my enthusiasm, considering my target is just 1.5 kgs away...

@TeresaW1020 so sorry about your knee, be careful during your workouts, I feel maintaining the weight is harder than losing weight, so you are doing a great job

@theslightedgeforver how are you, congratulations on your 1.1 lbs loss

@trooworld hope no injuries from Bodypump, it’s been so hectic here that I have just lost all my drive to do anything, family events taking a toll on me I guess. Made non-fat chicken kebabs for dinner last night and thought of you 😀

@gemwolf I did kickboxing years ago, just one class, it’s a great way to deal with negative emotions, way to go

@cbabie hope you are doing well, getting enough rest and sleep

Ok off to the gym for my leg workout see you ladies soon, have a great day and week ahead

Trooworld. Has your wrist and forearm always hurt after Bodypump or is this something new? Maybe cause you hadn’t done it awhile. Maybe do a modified version of whatever they are doing until no more pain. My tendonitis in my elbow areas flare up occasionally. No reason why. Once it did while I was on that exercise break due to minor surgery. I was doing nothing but sitting. So those days I had to modify my movements in the kitchen but now I’m better.

Krupalip. Are you afraid of reaching goal? If you reach goal then you have to maintain it. That can be scary for some people. If you reach goal then what? You’ve been pushing after this goal for awhile. Time to find a new non-weight goal. dont even think about the weight goal anymore. Just keep your calories in check do lots of exercise and you will get there. It’s not written in stone you have to get there by a certain date What if you make it two days after that date you planned? Does it lessen your accomplishment? No. You have worked hard and you will get there. Put your focus elsewhere for just a bit and push towards that.
I excel at maintaining weight it’s the losing weight that’s hard for me. So that’s something I need to figure out. I’m reading a book on self sabotage with some interesting points.

I did 11 min walk like I usually do in the mornings. Otherwise it was a rest day.

Cbabie is having internet problems and will be back when she can.

    Good morning!

@trooworld, I'm so sorry you are struggling and I so wish I could just give you a hug! <3 It can be so hard to get back on track once you go off. Especially when areas in your life are dragging you down. I've been there so many times myself, so I totally understand! But, you can't stay in the mindset you have right now. You have to do a restart. Just mentally draw a line and begin again. That is what I do. I just start again because giving up isn't an option anymore. You have to set yourself up with a new game plan.

First you have to take care of your wrist/forearm. I know that frustration because I'm dealing with my knee and it's super annoying but what can we do but take care of your body so we don't damage it even more. :/ You know how to eat and how to prep. I've seen it!! So, you get yourself back to the grocery store and stock that house with all the good foods you know that you can eat. Yeah, TV can suck so listen to music. Read some books, put together a super big jigsaw puzzle (my personal favorite thing ;) ), call those friends that you do have, start a new hobbie!

I believe in you and I know that you can get back your mojo! I have a Pinterest board full of motivational quotes for when I'm struggling. Here is just one that I want to share with you. :)

Hello everyone, just a thought, I think we all should read something on self sabotage because I certainly seem to be on that path, last night after a good day of clean eating, I ended up binge eating chips and 3 pieces of chocolate- why I don’t know, may be because my hubby was next to me and I couldn’t resist the temptation, which led to no loss on the scale this morning (I have been losing consistently but my eating is something I can’t seem to control)

@theslightedgeforever I think you are right about self sabotage and yes I am scared about maintaining my weight, that’s tough for me, I just see myself letting go all of my achievements once I have reached my goals

@trooworld hey don’t be down and out, believe me, even though my hubby is home, we just don’t have time for each other, I am busy with the kids and work, he is really busy with work and social media, Twitter etc. He is always on his desktop and if not that then on his phone, we barely have a conversation. I just hope our trip to the US will allow us to reconnect again. That said, I love having a pity party for myself but the guilt that comes later is terrible. You are so strong, don’t give up please, as Teresa said, draw the line again restart, you must feel sore and lonely but food can’t be our answer. We have to pick ourselves up move on, falling is easy, it’s how we get up and press on is important. Lots of hugs, remember you aren’t alone

    Have a great day everyone

I’ve been away from MFP for a long time, currently on WW, but not finding much support there.
Especially, I’m looking for motivation to move! I sit all day and I know that if I find the right people, I’ll be encouraged.
Many of my old MFP friends are now inactive, so I’m looking for active members for mutual support. Please join me!

    Good evening everyone!

@gemwolf110, good job on your challenge and yayyy for new workout clothes. I really need some new clothes but since I workout alone at home, I guess I think rags will do. :D

@theslightedgeforever, Wahhhooo on all that exercise! I'm jealous....see my post below. :/

@trooworld, that is great about your wrist not hurting. Funny how something we do can cause so much pain. I think that is awesome that you have something to do tonight to keep you busy. Digital journaling sounds super cool. How did you get started in that? I wish I had learned Photoshop. I do graphics all the time at work and that would probably be useful.

@blueimp, Hello and welcome! This is a great group and very supportive. I know about sitting all day but I've learned that once you begin to be consistent with some sort of activity your body will actually crave it.

Well, it's been a good day, but I've come to the decision in the middle of the night that I really can't work out until this stupid knee of mine completely heals up. I tried to ride my bike yesterday for 25 minutes and my knee hurt the rest of the night and I could hardly sleep. So, no more cardio until I'm totally pain-free. Super frustrated but resigned to being a good girl and keeping my husband from dragging me to the doctor. Ugghhh!!! :s:# I am going to start doing some upper body with my dumbbells. My iPad has been charged for over a week and I've yet to find a good weight lifting video. No time like the present, huh? :D I also have to now really be careful with my eating. I lost 1.6 on Tuesday and really don't want to stop my progress. Send me your good vibes, my friends! :)

Hi and thanks for the welcome!
Today I recalculated my macros. Monitoring them is the most helpful too I’ve learned from MFP.
    Here are my calculations:
    Basil Metabolic Rate (BMR): 996.5
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE): 1195.8
Daily calories deficit: 10-25% of TDEE—I’m not doing this right now because I need to get my activity level up first. I set daily calories at 1200 for now. Lee’s than this is neither healthy or sustainable for me.
This week I’ve set these macro goals. I’ll give them a week and see what results I get.
    Protein 25%
    Fat 35%
    Carbs 40%

Hey everyone, does anyone have any ideas on how to eliminate carbs from one’s diet, with me, my body works best without carbs apparently, the weight loss is really huge when I go off carbs. Indian food is loaded with carbs, and I just need to give up carbs for a week or so to reach my goal before I hop onto that airplane for the US. I have inches up a few grams on the scale and so this morning I tried on my NSV black dress, oh thank god it fit, I was so scared it wouldn’t...

@trooworld so glad you’re not looking to give up, I am here for you anytime you need a Pep talk or some motivation. Take care of your wrists, and shout out for anything you need

@TeresaW1020 don’t you think it would be wise to see a doctor for your knee ? What diet plan are you on? It’s been really hard for me to stick to a high protein- low carb diet plan, hit a plateau again, which is due to my food choices. Thank you for putting that board up from Pinterest really loved it

Anyways gotta run for my lower body workout, see you all later

Trooworld that’s great that you might be figuring out the wrist problem. Have you thought about joining some kind of groups to meet friends for those days that dh is not there. Or check out all the free stuff in your area. The digital art sounds like something I would do. I’m glad you are feeling better.

@blueimp welcome to the group. I’m working on moving more too. I’ve changed my mindset from exercising X amount of minutes each day to X amount of burned calories each day.

Teresaw1020. Don’t be jealous. Remember when I was sitting on the sidelines a few weeks ago due to my minor surgery. I think we all just rotate on who is going to be sitting watching. Lol my body doesn’t crave exercise. I know others who say it happens to them but I don’t have the feeling of ooh I wish I could go exercise. Maybe someday. I’m having less feelings of wishing it was over so there’s that. 😏 Nice motivational pic you shared with Trooworld is your knee feeling better. Yaaay on your weight loss. Good vibes coming your way.

Krupalip. The easiest way to go off carbs is just don’t eat them. Yes the weight loss is more without carbs but it comes right back on when you start eating them again. So unless you are going to be carb free the rest of your life which probably not because of the Indian food, expect some rebound. But if your goal is to meet that goal before your trip just say no and eat a lot of chicken and veggies. Or maybe one bite.

Gemwolf. Hang in there and just keep marking off those days. I was thinking about new workout clothes too but then I’m like Teresa no one really sees me. But I thought I see me when I look in the mirror doing weights. I want to look good no matter what. So I’ll add it to my reward list.

I did 71 minutes of exercise including weights and walking. Plus stayed under my calories

Ok short message, I am still having computer problems...still trying to stay on track. But haven't done the greatest this week . I hate computer problems. Stil not sleeping with a newborn on the house.

I have read and all the post and so glad to see everyone encouraging each other...I dont know what I am going to do with my comp..issues.

@blueimp welcome...I am so glad to have you here. You will love these girls...

Ok cant do all the personals on my phone..ugh..but wanted to say yes I am alive and here...and so proud of each of you

Okay, my computer is running right now, so I thought I would jump on really quick before it goes off again..LOL

@trooworld I think that's great you can take free adult education. I love education...especially if it's free. I am going to look at that website you have. You know you got this..we can do this together. I was supposed to go to WI today, but I don't believe I am going to make it. So I am going to try this week to get right back in the right mind set to achieve my goals...you can too!!! I am so glad you found a way your wrist doesn't hurt and you get support for it.

@TeresaW1020 I am so sorry about your knee...take care of it..it's important. We only get 2 and we need both. My dad did the knee replacement but didn't finish is PT correctly and his leg was never the same...I saw him fight it the rest of his life...so I am an advocate of taking care of out bodies...(and not getting old) LOL

@krupalip I too lose weight if I don't eat carbs, but the slightedge is correct, when you eat them again it just comes back...maybe minimize and not complete go on a no carb plan...I love your get up and do it every day appoach! I hope you totally enjoy your visit to the US .

@blueimp I am not tracking Marcos right this minute...I have to get back on the wagon per say and I want to do that for 2 weeks straight then start tracking my marcos...then it's more of a habit...I am learning to replace old habits with new habits.

@gemwolf110 I totally love your never quit sign...I am stealing!! LOL

I think my internet is gone again...(it's my computer not my internet) I need a new one...someday...LOL

So I will be sending this as soon as I can get it up and running agian..(saving my post) LOL

@theslightedgeforever Thanks for letting everyone know I was having computer issues...I am proud of your back on track after a slight detour...

Trooworld. Rinse and repeat is correct. Have you tried meetup.com Groups with similar interests get together. It seems to be all over the country now. My friend used it when she moved to a new place. I would be in the oddball category too. Lol. There’s always a place for everyone. You just have to find it. I love your friend pic. I used to have fun creating web pages on a site. I could sit for a long time trying to get it to look just right. I don’t need to be sitting a long time. Lol. That’s not helping my body. So these days I sit and read. Still working on the move my body consistently thing each day. But I’ll get there.

Cbabie. Good for you for trying new habits. I quit tracking my macros because the good carbs like fruit lentils and beans were pushing them way out of bounds. Plus it just makes me want to eat more bread. This way has been working well. I think back to Granny and what she ate and I’m sure she wasnt counting macros. But as I always say different strokes......we all have to find what works for us and stick with it. It’s all about the habits

    Good morning everyone! :)

@krupalip, cutting carbs is hard but doable. I would start by replacing as many simple carbs as you can with more high fiber carbs. I eat a lot of eggs, chicken, fish, beans, ground turkey, Greek yogurt, Protein bars and shakes, and lots of veggies. I try to eat protein with every meal and snack.

@cbabie, Yayyy for your computer being back! I can't stand if something happens to my computer. I'm so attached to my technology it's a little embarrassing. :D

@trooworld, great pic of you and your friend!! I love what you have done. What a great way to create a memory! :)

So, I'm happy to report that my knee is much better. There is still a twinge from time to time but I think I'm on the mend. Hubby says I still can't exercise! :/ Yesterday, I cleaned out my make-up drawer, jewelry box, and part of my closet just to have something to do. I had make-up that was years old and a drawer full of bras that I don't wear. I buy new but never throw away. Why is that?? Today, I think I'm going to tackle the kitchen. There are things living in my fridge that probably should have seen a trashcan some time ago. It's time to purge!! :p

Yesterday, we went to the sweetest wedding! My pastor's oldest son had all but given up on love and then he met this woman on an online game site and after a year, she moved here to see if they had something real or not. Well, they do have something real and just precious! This girl doesn't have the best family and the only one who came to the wedding was her sister. But she is now part of the best family I know and and even bigger family with all of us at the church. I didn't eat much but I did have the best carrot cake cupcake! ;)

TeresaW1020. What a sweet wedding story. Those are the best. At least you are being productive during your exercise hiatus. I’m planning to be productive in that area come Jan 2019. For the next 3 months I’m going to work on my healthy habits trying to get them consistent. Yaaay on your knee

Trooworld. Have you thought of joining a Bookclub. It only cost you the price of a book unless you get it from the library. I remember once my friend telling me about a site or something for free things to do in every city. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Part of the problem too is time during the week. You don’t have a lot of extra time to meet up with friends. I did enjoy HTML actually. I need to get back in the habit of cooking new recipes for dinner.

I gained this week. 😖 plus I’ve had the “blues” for 3 days and the first thing to go is exercise. I escape by reading. So I’m still working on that. Each day I learn more and more how to fight my obstacles

Hey everyone, sorry haven’t checked-in, good to read all the posts.

@theslightedgeforever I totally agree on the carbs, you give them up and once you start to eat them they strike hard, going to focus on eating clean and healthy. Just want to say thank you for giving me hope and courage to fight through my obstacles, I always think if you can do it why can’t I.

@TeresaW1020 thanks for the tips on the carbs, will follow that, I am still avoiding the shopping though, just petrified about not having lost enough weight for the clothes I would like to wear, need to overcome that fear I guess

@trooworld lovely digital journaling of the pic of you and holly, quite the artist you are, my hubby turned his hobby of sketching into a good business opportunity maybe one day you could do the same. What an awesome menu you have planned this week, I am so worried about eating healthy on my US trip, but will make smart choices.

@cbabie great to know that your computer troubles are over. It’s always good to hear from you.

Yesterday went for a family lunch, and my relatives kept saying just buy large size clothes because you will put on the weight back. That got me thinking, what new goals should I set for myself once I am back from the US and maybe prove people wrong by not putting on all the weight I have lost back

Ok gotta run, see ya girls have a nice day and week ahead

Krupalip not fitting into a certain size is not failure. Failure is giving up and sitting down in the middle of the road not moving forwards Sizes are not constant. I went to China years ago with my DH on a business trip. Everyone told me clothes in China are cheap you’ll be able to buy a lot. Didn’t buy one thing except for a pair of pajamas. I was 20 lbs lighter then and their XL was too small for me. I thought well I’ll buy shoes then. Nope. My size 8 is too big of a foot. My point is it’s not about the size of clothing. It’s about all the hard work you did to get you where you are at right now. If you had a million dollar goal in your bank account by the time you were 40 and all you were able to save was 990,000. Failure? Look how hard you worked for security for your family. Donate the too big clothes to someone who needs it. Give yourself no reason to go back to those clothes. Otherwise it’s too easy to do it.
Did you lose this weight for your trip or for your life?

Trooworld bookclub sounds fun. We always meet in restaurants usually. That’s one of my boundary rules I’ll allow myself the choice of dessert if I really want it. It’s once a month why not. Usually I just eat half or share with somebody. This month I just ordered french onion soup and ate half and ordered dessert but then later when it was time for dessert I changed my mind and canceled dessert. I like smaller gatherings as not a lot of overtalking. We have 12 in our club. That event sounds fun. I’m one of those that can stand in line for hours and end up knowing all about the person in front of me and behind. Lol. My dad says I could talk to a wall

    Good morning!

@Krupalip, girl you need to ignore what your family told you about putting the weight back on and believe in yourself! <3 You have been working hard and your NOT going to stop! Buy clothes that fit and make you feel beautiful. Also, you are going on a major vacation and you might eat more than you normally do and enjoy foods that you don't always have. That's OK! Even if you come back home with a gain you will get right back on your plan and get it off. Having said that, it would be super fun if you proved them all wrong. ;)

@trooworld, I LOVE those BBQ/grape jelly meatballs! They are always a huge hit at any gathering. Bummer about not being able to go to BodyPump, but maybe your body does need a break. :)

@theslightedgeforever, sorry you had a gain but great that you are learning how to fight those obstacles. Weight loss is so much more than what we eat and how much we exercise. I've been on WW for a year and 9 months and I've learned that it's not just about the scale dropping. It's about learning why food has such a control over me and how to battle it. We got this!! :)

So, I'm happy to report that my knee is better and I walked on the treadmill for 25 minutes yesterday with no pain!! I've learned my lesson about being smarter and to stop trying to do things that cause injury and set me back. I'm going to stick with walking at my own pace and keep going day after day instead of trying to compete with others, which never ends well for me! :/

I'm about to go to WW and weigh in. I'm sure that I will be up about a 1/2 pound and I'm OK with that. No exercise and a wedding happened this week and like my sweet husband pointed out, in the past I would have gained a whole lot more. He is right! After weigh in we are driving back to Augusta to see my friend in the hospital that had the breast reconstruction. She has gotten infections and an 8" separation in the skin grafts. She has already had two surgeries this week and two more later in the week are scheduled. That family is a mess and I feel so bad for them. So, going to go try to inject a little cheer if possible. Ya'll have a great day!

Still no computer, I know I just need a new one...ugh. Well I am not eating right, but not gaining. In fact my clothes are fitting different than the las couple of months..I think it’s because I am up every night feeding burning ad rocking a baby...lol. Still trying to eat with good habits in mind.

@TeresaW1020 so glad your knee is much better. I really miss my treadmill😭, but know all in due season....

@theslightedgeforever ...yes you and mom could talk to a rock, wall, you name it..but that is why I love you...

@troowo I miss my book club...I love that you know yourself so well and know how you work...some people would rather pretend they are not who they are..never figured out why people are. Like that.....I M you either love me, tolerate me, or hate me...and it’s your choice...LOL

@krupalip I am sorry that your family would not encourage you....but we are here to cheer you on!!! Set a goal for you, you MATTER.

Trooworld. I do the meatball in the crockpot thing with bbq sauce and grape jelly too. I could eat all of them.

TeresaW1020. Yep, we got this. Woohoo on no knee pain on the treadmill. Sorry about your friend. Yes go spread your cheer. That is why I was put on this planet.

Cbabie. The important thing is your clothes are starting to feel differently.

Krupalip. In my experience I’ve always found flying makes you gain a couple of lbs anyway because of the fluid buildup but eventually goes away on its own. The trick is to have a plan to enjoy yourself fully at the same time making good choices daily. Portion control is the key. A few bites of non healthy stuff versus the whole thing I’m getting good at that half thing. When I get it first thing I do is cut it in half. You can do this. You have shown great determination so far

Okay gals...gotta jump on here when my computer is working...LOL I am determined for change, life can't stay as it is..so each day I keep trying to do one thing in the direction I want be going in...it may be that I stay up when I really wanted to sleep one more hour, it may be don't take seconds..it could even be just sit and read a good book. What I know is that God places people and things in our lives and we don't even know that they were there for a purpose until later.. You each are on here for yourself and for someone else.. Thank you for each of you showing up to encourage and make my day brighter by just reading your comments.

@trooworld Good for you for the positive attitude about finishing the book...You are trying something new, something you have wanted to do and you never know where it will take you until you try.

@theslightedgeforever what is the meatball with bbq sauce and grape jelly you and trooworld are talking about..
    Okay gals,

    gotta run

After nearly a week, using macros is such a big help to me. I’d forgotten how much sense it makes. For me, it helps me use WW points more efficiently.
I’ll be home from a road trip, well two with one day at home, on Saturday night. Doing my best, but staying where food is not entirely in my control—and meals on the road isn’t helpful.
After I weigh on Sunday, I’ll decide if I need to adjust.
Thanks to those who have joined me. Still looking for mutual supporters! Judi

Trooworld. So just divide the number of days with 512 pages so you know exactly how many pages you need to read everyday. My bookclub friends make fun of my method because I’ll stop at exactly 34 pages or whatever. They say what if you are at a really good part. Nope. I still stop. Then go back to reading where I left off on a different book. Something a bit more in my preferred genre. I kind of treat it like homework and I’m in search of balance. Can you get it on audio so you can listen while you commute?

Cbabie. Just one thing is a good motto.
Here’s the recipe for the meatballs. https://pin.it/bgp72i67os7xut

Blueimp. I’m so glad you have found a program that works for you. Your road trip is a small speed bump. you’ll learn how to navigate over it so the next time you go on one you will get better and better at fitting in WW and macros. Do you take a soft-sided cooler with you so you can fill it with food of your choice?

Morning! I am on line for a few..yea. I had to reset my modem. It seems I have to that to have internet in my room. LOL I just saw something really funny. I am looking out my window and a truck pulls across the street and a guy gets out , goes to the other side of the truck, gets a bowl off the edge of the bed of the truck, starts eating, gets in his truck and drive off...people are weird!!!

@trooworld I have had that same headache for 3 days because of our weather...so please do send the CA weather over to AZ..LOL

@theslightedgeforever thanks for the recipie...I love that you divide the book up..I really need to do that with all I am reading...

Hey everyone, please let me apologise to everyone here for not replying to everyone’s posts in the past 2 days. A lot going on and it’s very hectic at my end. However, a very big thank you to theslightedgeforver, cbabie, trooworld, Teresaw for believing in me and for continued support and encouragement. A special thank you to theslightedgeforver, for a much needed kick in the butt, your post totally made rethink my reasons for losing weight.

Tomorrow morning I promise, I will reply to everyone personally, I just simply wanted to say thank you, you guys are the best

    Hello everyone!!

@trooworld, good for you for signing up for the book club. I hope you love the book and meet some great people! I also hope they meet at a place that you won't feel too tempted by the food. ;) How's your headache doing?

@cbabie, I like your attitude about doing one thing a day to keep going in the right direction. Even if we have to do the same one thing more than once or 50 times, that's OK, because we aren't stopping!! I also believe that God puts us where we need to be and with people, we need to be with. This is a great group!! :)

@Krupalip, don't worry about having to post to everyone! Life gets busy for us all. We are just happy to hear from you. <3

Well, I had a pretty good day! I finally told my boss that I wanted to change my schedule and leave the office early on Wednesday's because the homeschool group that uses our church buildings on Wednesday has been making me crazy! They are OK in the morning but by noon they have classes upstairs, which some are above my office and it sounds like a herd of elephants is about to come through the ceiling. They are kids and there is no stopping them but I can't concentrate. Plus, because I have to be back up at the church at 5:30 for our Wednesday night stuff it will give me more time to work out and make dinner. I would rather stay a little late on Thursday or Friday, which I do often enough as it is. :)

I've also decided to stop buying fruit-flavored Tic Tacs. Why? Because they have become an addiction and I don't think there is a 12-step program for Tic Tacs!! :p
