I’m back in and a little late to this round! Been a rough few months and have gained back what I had lost. Had surgery and have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Knowing how the thyroid effects metabolism, I realize I’m in for an uphill battle. I love this challenge and appreciate the support and accountability that it offers!

Bouncing weight...Not sure why, but pleased with fitness & Sept wt loss. Trying different methods to assuage hunger...will just take me some time to figure out this “<24 BMI” new reality. Ankle hurting, so attempting to take my first Rest Day in over 6 months. We’ll see...
Thank you to all the great suggestions and positive approach in this group!

• Ate within Energy burned throughout day
• reviewed my macro and micro data from past 7 months...realized there have been steady increases in carbs & dietary sugars, and whacked sugary/starchy carbs, dietary sugars, and calories down!!
• Drank lots of water 💦 & hot tea ☕
• Tried not to freak out & reminded myself I could find a solution to hunger
• And I didn’t wake up uncomfortably hungry!!!
• I think yesterday might have been the most important day of my weight loss so far. I was able to use all the data I’ve collected to help me. I was able to ride the hunger. I found a simple lunch (burger patty, thin slice cheese, fresh cooked peas, whole wheat pita) & dinner (pork, Apple, decaf nonfat latte) delicious even with lower or no starch/sweet.
• I have hope again!! I’m fighting this time to keep this healthy, strong body. 💞

@MadisonMolly2017 oh no, what happened?1
-
Thank you @fraukazi
I went on a hike and suddenly found myself on back right shoulder. Hardest impact & most sudden that my body ever felt. Broke my upper right arm bone just below shoulder joint. See specialist tomorrow; spent 8 hours in ER & then DH spent 2 hours getting pain medication (24/7 wasn’t & a safe that only unlocks after 15 mins)
I think I won’t need surgery, but will find out for sure tomorrow.
How are you doing?5 -
Hi, again. I couldn't finish most of the challenges but I'm still around here. So, I hope this will be better and I'll finish it. Maybe I'll make it a confession of bad habits, however, I have to change things. Ok, here we go.
9/15 86.3 kg (190.2 lbs)
Yesterday I binged and ate junk food at night. I have some phrases of eating junk food 3-4 times in a year. I eat every day for a few weeks but then sick of it. I think it's time to sick of it. I'll be better, promise to myself. I'm just having so many anxious thoughts in my mind these days about work, Ph.D., relationships etc. Emotional/stress eating is my thing... I'm about to program my life these days and, diet and exercise are part of it.
9/16 86.4 kg (190.4 lbs) but after breakfast because I forgot weighing before
Confession is coming... I drank alcohol, one beer, one glass of wine and two shots of tequila. So I might be dehydrated. I also ate a brownie and pizza. However, I walked 15k steps. I hope today will be better.
9/17 85.9 kg (189.3 lbs)
Yay! No need to confess. I didn't binge, eat junk food or drink alcohol. And see the lower weight, that's what should I do. Actually yesterday I really wanted to eat dessert, but I didn't let myself. And also yesterday I bought myself a running shirt for myself which gives me motivation. I really like it and it's medium size and kinda fits me, normally I wear XL. Starting next week I'll be really busy, I think it'll be good for my diet, there'll be no time to eat. I realized that when I'm at home, I tend to binge. And this summer I was mostly at home so gained lost of weight. I believe myself, even I took a "before pic".
9/18 86.3 kg (190.2 lbs)
I was doing ok until I saw the carrot cake... However, all day I was on the streets walked 21k steps. But I should go to the gym. I haven't gone for a while. And also I shouldn't eat pasta for dinner, even I wasn't hungry that much... Ahh me...
9/19 86.8 kg (191.3 lbs)
This is the result of late dinner (with too many carbs) and a chocolate souffle. However, I went to the gym and exercised about 2 hours, I was really good at it. At least I exercised, right?
9/20 86.6 kg (190.9 lbs)
That's something... Actually until late night snack, which was emotional eating, everything was going great. Even for dinner, I ate a nice salad and I walked 10 k steps.
9/21 86.4 kg (190.4 lbs)
Yes, this is the right way. I was good yesterday, except I just ate (kinda) a little Nutella. I ate salad for dinner which is really important to me. Because the hardest part is dinner for me. I walked 8k steps, I was very tired at the evening so I couldn't go to the gym.
9/22 86.0 kg (189.5 lbs)
Yay! Yesterday was a good day, I just a little more at dinner. Because I want to reward myself, I know food shouldn't use this way but that's the best way. Whatever, one of my papers is accepted to a conference, so I was really happy and motivated. Even at night, I went to the gym.
9/23 86.0 kg (189.5 lbs)
I was expecting 85's but still it's good. I hope I'll finish the challenge with 85's. Yesterday was good actually, I didn't eat a lot, but most of them were carbs. However, I walked a lot with my heavy backpack. I didn't need to eat dinner I just drank smoothie, I should do that more.
9/24 86.2 kg (190 lbs)
OK, at least I finished the challenge and I didn't gain. I wasn't good enough to lose weight anyway... I hope next 10 days will be better for me.5 -

Oh wow, that's such a bummer! Fingers crossed that no surgery will be required and you have a quick recovery.
I'm ok, this whole work drama will be over soon as I've decided to just leave at the end of Oct. It's better for my stress levels and I will be able to focus on finding a new job without this one hanging over me.

Thank you @fraukazi Your plan sounds great! I wish you the best of luck getting new position - I know hiring can slow down over the holidays, so I’m sure you hav factored that in. I wish I’d cut stress levels earlier, so I commend your you! 🎉tiabirdie56 wrote: »Oh my goodness! @MadisonMolly2017, Were you rock climbing during your hike? Was a steep decline with hard packed first with small pebbles on top...not alone DH was great. I’ll know today re: surgery but they generally use a splint/sling. Thank you💞!cdavisdeva wrote: »@MadisonMolly2017 I am so sorry. Praying for quick pain relief and recovery❤

Me too! I think all will be fine. Do you know if she had a sling or if she had surgery? Do you know if she had physical therapy? Thank you so much for reaching out it really means a lot! 💞0 -
@MadisonMolly2017 She has a sling for 8 - 12 weeks, I think, and did have PT after. She was 60 when it happened and you may heal faster.0
