149 Eliminating sugar/processed foods from my diet. Taking time for myself to move my body. And setting myself up for success at home and at work.
Good day. Walked a lot. Ate well. Stayed away from sugar. Set up house routines.
1
145 Goal for the day: Weight training.
Another good day! Lifted and then played hoops with the boy. > 10k steps. Food was spot on. House is looking good. Need to get the phone out of the bedroom….
2
145 Goal for the day: Exercise of some sort. Slept in this morning instead of exercising.
Walked for exercise. Walked at my desk; at lunch; and in the plant. Steps ~14k. Good night of food.
3 147 Ate some peanuts last night before bed. Scaled showed it this morning. Not worrying about it. Did something to my shoulder on Tuesday. Slept like crap last night.
Goal for today: Be gentle with myself.

9/24 - STARTING WEIGHT: 176.0
9/25 - 175.2Did everything right yesterday. Stayed within carb and calorie goal. Intermittent Fasted 16:8. Exceeded my step and miles goal. Hit 13/13 step hours. I walked 1.5 miles in the light rain just to get it in. I got the munchies/cravings late last night but I knew I had already had enough to eat for the day so I managed to get through them with water.
9/26 - 174.8 I agree with @abowersgirl . When I look at the number on the scale, it feels like I’m standing next to someone else seeing what they weigh! Me in the lower 170’s ? No. I’m that fat lady with the nice personality. I have to get used to this again, get used to being back to me! It is a VERY STRANGE feeling to look at the scale. It doesn’t feel real. She’s so right!
9/27 - 174.8 Holding Steady. IF 16:8 yesterday. Maintained low carbs and met calorie goal. Not as much movement as I would have liked with no planned exercise. I continue to need to work on protein, fiber and water. Sleep eludes me. I just don’t seem to need very much of it. For years now, as a working person, 4 hours (or even less) seems to be enough to keep me energized. However, all the data points to the important health benefits of 8 hours per night. I don’t know what to do about that. I don’t think I’ve slept 8 hours since I was in diapers and I’m 58 now! Travel tomorrow will involve food choices I’ll enjoy. It will cost me days of water bloat but I am learning that it’s okay. I can trust my body.
9/28 - Travel. No weigh in or post.

Initial Goal Weight = 139 lbs (last weighed this is 2013)
Ultimate Goal Weight = 129 lbs (last weighed this in 2011)
Round 54 Goal: Range of 139.9-142.0 (Either my weigh-loss is really slowing down and I need a more reasonable goal OR I am due for a big loss after the last round and a more aggressive goal is possible)
Exercise Plan = The Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge (in weeks 10-11), run outside 3-4 times a week, get 8,000-10,000 steps/day
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
9/25 = 143.7 (up .6 from yesterday) Little bounce back up, went out to dinner last night, made good choices, most likely under calories but retaining water. My scale still has my water percentage up over 2% from it's normal number. Yesterday was a rest day in my 90 day challenge, but back at it today with day 64 of 90. Plus lots and lots of lemon & cucumber water today. I'm looking for a whoosh to be coming this week! Welcome to all out new group members!
9/26 = 142.9 (down .8 from yesterday) Small drop down from my Sunday weight. If the water percentage on my scale is correct, I'm still retaining water though. Yesterday I really didn't eat much, wasn't very hungry until it was too late at night. I do 16:8 so once the window closes, I'm done for the night. I completed day 64 of 90 workout yesterday and it was the hardest one yet. It really got me! Today is day 65 of 90, I haven't looked at it yet to see what it is, but I imagine it will be a tough one as well!
9/27 = 142.0 (down .9 from yesterday) Very challenging day yesterday. I've mentioned before my daughter has mental health issues (how I dealt with this stress was the cause of my weight gain) and yesterday was one of those days. She goes long periods of time with everything being relatively "normal' but really the anxiety is building underneath and waiting to explode. Yesterday was an explosion. I did not get my workout in due to this BUT I handled the stressful situation much better than in the past & did NOT stress eat & did NOT self-medicate with wine. Calling it a difficult but successful day. We saw her therapist last night, adjusted her medication & she is in much better spirits this morning. Today, I have a very busy day at work, my boss is going out of the country for 2 weeks so lots to get done before he goes and this evening I am hosting a party with some ladies from my social club. I've got a couple hors d'oeuvres to prep for the party and really want a mani/pedi, not enough hours in the day. BUT, I've got to make time for some self-care today and the best thing for me is to get out & go for a run and do some yoga. In the past I sacrificed myself and my needs to focus 100% on my daughter but I know now I have to take care of myself so that I am able to be there in the best possible way for her. "You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first."

Round 54 (My 8th Round)
9/25 156 I did great on all my macros until the late night craving hit me. I was a couple hundred calories under after dinner so it just ended up balancing out after I ate what I was craving. Just wish it didn't hit me so late. On a brighter note, loved the fall like weather yesterday morning! It was beautiful out. Can't wait until it stays like that for a while, and the trees start turning. The park I go to to walk is so beautiful, especially when the leaves start turning 😊.
9/26 155 yayy I am so excited. 10 pounds away from a normal BMI. I am beyond proud of myself. Yesterday was also a light day so I know that's contributed to part of this loss but I'm still taking credit for all the hard work.
9/27 155 soo happy that the scales were correct yesterday. I was speaking to someone yesterday who was complimenting me and asking how much weight I had lost, and my Husband overheard me tell them I still wanted to lose more. He doesn't want me to lose any more lol but I told him that I loved him, but I am doing this for me and I want to be happy with my body, and healthy.
That is really what matters in this whole thing, do this for "you". Being an inspiration to my family is a plus also, because I want them healthy as well.

I am a 50 year old 5'4" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

@denswrex Let me know how it turns out. I'm always interested in new recipes.
Currently I'm enjoying the quinoa chili I made. I cook enough to have leftover for work week meals.

9/25 - 256.2 - Jumping off the Keto wagon & back to a whole foods approach which worked better for me. Gotta start the exercise back up in a week when the broken toe heals completely. Happy to have broken any sugar addiction long ago. I can do this!!
9/26 - 256.4 - Well, that's not too bad a jump up. I knew going off Keto I'd gain a bit of water weight. Trying to switch gears without a plan doesn't work. Menu planning is what my morning has been all about!
9/27 - 255.4 - Yes! Every # counts when it's headed in the right direction. Slept all night long without waking midway, which I haven't done in a long time.

I've been stuck in a rut and in need of change. This is not a good place for me because it leads to impulse shopping and/or boredom eating. I decided to redirect my energy with a positive distraction. End result, I ruthlessly purged my closets and dresser of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that doesn't fit, flatter, or make me feel amazing. From designer clothing to simple Tees, it's all packed for Goodwill in the back of my little Honda Fit.
I feel so accomplished! It was very liberating to let go of the "smaller me" jeans that didn't fit like they were tailored for me and the special occasion dresses that I don't really wear. Do I really need all those T shirts and jackets? Not at all.
Next project - shoes, accessories, and grooming gadgets (curling irons, etc...)11 -
