RadishEater, I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one thrown off by having company come to visit for a week or so. Not only do I struggle with the food aspect but workouts tend to go out the window! It's a slippery slope from there.17

I have said this before but it is getting worse, when my cat kneads me it is getting more uncomfortable.
He thinks kneading me is very important and does it for three to five minutes each night.18 -
The other day Someone said to me “your middle aged with kids why are you bothering “ l had to laugh at that, I’m 39 I’m not over the hill yet!
This is simultaneously sad, hilarious, and one of the dumbest things I've ever heard! "Oh, you're almost 40? You should stop caring about your health."14 -

I’m halfway to my goal and still in the Class 1 obese stage. Yet people have started saying oh you look fine why are you stressing so much or just eat one meal with us it won’t make a difference. Stop eating that healthy crap all the time. It gets super discouraging. Also, how much my social life would suffer because I would rather work out.
The worst of it all is that I’ve lost 5 inches from my chest😭 And I still have so far to go.31 -

It's hard, especially when the people around you don't really know what healthy looks, feels, and acts like. But I get it, and I can tell you're getting it. Keep on rocking it!!!7 -
I didn't really know that uncomfortably loose could be a thing. The first time I lost weight, my style was different and the clothes I wore could be worn looser without being uncomfortable. Since then, I've picked up more structured, fitted pieces that not only look frumpy when loose, but are also uncomfortable when loose. Some pieces I'm going to take in, but others are just going to have to get donated. I feel like I'm also having to go shopping earlier than the last time. I don't think I really starting shopping until I was under 160 before, but now I'm feeling the urge to do so at just under 170. That's a big difference when you're 5'1''.10

I have replaced my entire wardrobe TWICE! Including socks (didn't realize socks would end up needing to be replaced).
My advice: used clothing and hunt bargains!!!! If you find a pair of used pants in great condition that are just a bit snug on you, but extremely cheap (found o pair of 4L for 99¢ my current size is a 6L - GRAB THEM) Seriously. If you know you're not going to stay in a size for too long, don't spent a lot on the clothes. And then buy as few pieces as possible. Another good idea is adjustable clothes: wrap dresses can easily be adjusted a good 3 sizes and still look good. For workout clothes, you may want to ditch the leggings/tights for a while and invest in stuff that has a drawstring. I know tights are generally more comfortable, but not when they fall off of you mid workout and you get to show the entire world what kind of underwear you prefer. Belts!!! A good belt is worth the money!10 -
That during *that* week (well the few days leading up to it) you might not see a loss. But then about 1 day after I start, I magically melt the water weight and I see all my *real* loss for the previous week. Annoying... but I'm onto it now! Just gotta ignore the scale for that week from now on!16

Or.... With the weird weight gain due to your TOM, you can see it as an early warning so that you don't ruin nice underwear.10 -

I've had to completely replace my underwear 3 times over 40 pounds. Skivvies falling down as you walk is no fun either!10 -

That some people that commented i needed to lose weight, will then say that im looking too thin!! Some people can never be pleased....and it was then that I realised that I didn't care; this is about me not them!!27

Overall I'm happy, But I hate the loose skin....Batwings and such...16

Unfortunately I get that weight gain many days before the event day. Fortunately.. I have other indicators lol

I'm about two years late replying to this, but I experience this a LOT when I work out frequently: it's the blood flow to those parts of the body that does it, and the fitter you get, the better blood flow, to say nothing of hormones balancing out as well. And I believe in having a healthy attitude to sex in general, as it's part of having a physical body in the first place. So in my view, your comment was far from inappropriate. It would only be viewed as such by some people because they were taught that even *thinking* about sex is sinful. :P I don't play that kind of mindf*** game. Not since going down the Happy Pagan Path! LOL!11 -

Thanks, I’m always prepared for it but psychologically, seeing the number go up is just bad haha. My logical brain just ignores it. And today I’m back down to what I was a few days ago yay! lol2 -
This has been said before, but I am always amazed at how my body perception changes from day-to-day. Some days I feel light as air and slim. Other days I feel and look heavy to myself. I think I tend to compare myself to other slim people now, rather than to other overweight people (as I used to).
I still think of myself as a 'fat' person. In the clothing store the other day, they did not have my size. Instead of going down, I went up to a larger size. It was a shock seeing how big that jacket it looked on me.
It has become so very difficult to loose those last kilos to get to my goal. I am very happy with where I am, but would like to go a little further before maintenance.
Exercise has become enjoyable and even easy. That is a huge surprise.
After two years of weight loss, I now meet people who never knew me when I was large. It really bends my mind and I have to avoid the urge to say something about the weight loss. It is almost as if I have impostor syndrome.23 -
That I would ever actually reach a “normal” weight for my height and see for myself what the years of being overweight, then obese, have done to my skin:(.19

I want the ability to move and energy the most. I have had weight issues my entire life so have not really known body freedom. I was over 300 lbs for long time and feel like those years were wasted, just starting to feel like I can enter life again after losing over 100 lbs. You can't live well morbidly obese.18 -

I'm experiencing the same thing. I wasn't even very overweight. Only about 40 pounds.. but my skin did not bounce back.

My friends took a photo of me in a store from behind. They sent to me with “ buy some new clothes” as I looked so scruffy in my now baggy clothes.
The next day I took 6 large sacks of clothes to charity!36 -

What a great promp from a good friend. I think many of us wear our baggy clothes too long and it hides our success and I believe makes us feel fat longer. Congratulations on your success.20
