My daughter has done well with keto, but she just returned from a cruise and said the skin on her leg is numb. I don't think the diet would cause that, but I'm concerned about what the problem might be.
@eminater You've done very well! You're teetering on the edge of onederland! Hooray for you!
@FarmerCarla - I felt better this morning. Still had issues going to sleep last night and the restless legs but I hope that will pass soon. I am still trying to watch the carbs and sugar intake but take it down SEVERAL notches. I will say the first 8 days of Keto invigorating me and got me to cut out the crazy out of control snacking.
I hope your daughter figures out her leg issue. The unknown is always a bit concerning.
@texasfarmer Thanks. Glad you're feeling better and hope you get the sleep you need soon. Resisting snacks is a big plus! My husband eats keto foods with me, but I add carbs (rice/pasta/sweet potatoes/sweets) to his, since he's thin. He's had problems jerking at night and hasn't slept well for years. A few months ago, I ordered a magnesium supplement (magnesium bisglycinate chelate) that he takes at night now, and he's sleeping better through the night and not waking me up with his jerking. His back is in bad shape, but an implanted neurostimulator gets him through his days. Praying you'll find the methods that work for you!2 -
@mlhopp93 To do low carb when traveling, start by eliminating the bread and potatoes. I order burgers with no bun, Subway salads, steak or salmon and broccoli with a salad. You can do it!2

Goal for the challenge:
10,000 steps daily
Eat within my calorie goal
28% body fat
125lbs
Get active
Avoid Binge eating
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 134.8 (30.7% Body Fat)
Comment: Weighed in late tonight so it's higher. I started working out tonight and sticking to my calorie count range. When I workout or do something active it does help me from binge eating. When I do binge I just get depressed the next day and feel the pains of bloating in my body. Like this morning.
01/14 132.6 (31.1%)
Comment: I almost didn't workout today.
But I'm so glad I did go out and get to the gym. Did a spinning class and got a decent workout done.
Then when I got back to my place I saw my dentist who got me to join the monday zumba session. Hahaha she really wants to let me know I can go allnout with my workouts now after 4 weeks of recovery from a surgery. Well I did the session and I feel great!
I did not binge, I ate to get enough protein and nutrients in my body. This is what I should be doing daily! Then get better and disciplined!
01/15 130.4 (31.1%)
Went over my daily calorie count today. I didn't workout but I did at least walk more than 10k steps. Hahaha looking at the bright side. I guess it's better to eat my meals later during the day since I get to eat just right as well and workout.

ROUND 64 (Round 11 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135-140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. I don’t use my KetoMojo meter every day, but I’ve only been out of ketosis for a couple of days since the second week when the meter arrived. Some of my NSVs: feeling less self-conscious, wedding band fits, smaller clothing, and my happy husband, whether he’s inspired to quit his cigarette habit or not.
Rounds 54 – 64 resulted in a cumulative loss of 33.6 lb. The closer I get to my goal, the more excited and motivated I become! When I reach maintenance, my plan it to continue checking in on these rounds. I really do appreciate and enjoy your company!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 144.8 Hello again! Let’s make this a great round! My scale is up a little this morning. I was up early to cook for lunch at church. My poor husband wass sick most of the night. It may be the fried fish he ate last night that I brought home for him on Thursday. It was a lunch special, but had three large filets of catfish. I meant to throw the last one away yesterday—wish I had. I guess something else could be going on with him. Thor and I had a good walk yesterday, but cut it a little short, 4.8 mi. We met the owners of a dog that’s been harassing and following us. I don’t want to see him run over.
01/14 143.8 I’m about to go to work, so I’ll have to catch up on posts this evening. Monday is my MFP check-in day, so I wanted to enter that before I forget.
01/15 143.4 I could have walked yesterday afternoon, but it was cold and windy, and I try to avoid cold and windy. The high today should be 50F and cloudy, still too cold, but I’ll probably take Thor and walk this afternoon after the Women’s Club luncheon and meeting. My grandmother and great grandmother and two great aunts were charter members of the club, long ago, and I like spending time and having fun with my neighbors. My favorite meetings last year were hula dancing, clogging, and learning to milk a goat!

At first I thought this said: Dinner out with the quitters...
It made me laugh thinking- man that is a bit harsh
1/15-171 Dinner out with the quilters, I made wise choices but it was salty. Non stop rain; the dogs and I want to walk.
I am so glad you are all here!!!! Good luck!!!! 😊

@texasfarmer I’m sorry you’re giving up on Keto. I think what you were experiencing was mainly an electrolyte imbalance. Best of luck with CICO.
@ghy5 A true plateau is when your weight stays the same for 4 WEEKS. Hang in there and keep doing what you’re doing.
@shunggie LOL at pulling your pants up every time you stand. I took my elastic waist jeans to Oklahoma when we visited DD#1 in October and had this problem. When she told me they were so big it looked like I had “a load in my pants” I put them away - FOR GOOD! Hope your power has been restored!
@hoshaugh73 I’m guessing that increase is from what you had over the weekend. I find it generally takes 2-3 days for my intake to show on the scale.4 -

01/14 163.5 It was nice to see the 163s again since I was at 163.7 on Wednesday (my weekly check in date), but moved up to the 164s again from Friday-Sunday. I lost 8 pounds easily since 12/1, but lately have gone to a 1.1 average on Happy Scale. Hope to move that closer to 1.5 lbs this round.
01/15 162.7 My goal for today is to complete a 45 minute spin class, eat well, and drink more water. Yesterday, I only drank 48 oz and woke up thirsty. It is raining here, so I might not be able to get to 10,000 steps. As long as I hit 70,000 for the week, I will be happy. Tomorrow is my MFP weigh in date, so hoping to be under last week's 163.7 weigh-in.

01/13 183.4 Good day yesterday. Reached over 10,000 steps. Aerobic Dancing almost 20 minutes. Under calorie & carbs. Felt strong. Did not battle too much hunger. Busy work day today so the steps will be easy. The water may be challenging, but I will try hard to incorporate it. Good luck everyone on this round!
01/14 183.4 Thought it would be lower but I’m okay with this. Lots of NSV’s this past week.
01/15 186.2 Emergency situation with my business requiring local police, fire department, gas provider and then state police. Damn neighbor! Everyone is okay, thankfully, but let’s just say my meals were local restaurant runs yesterday, and I certainly ate my emotions in the form of some bingeing as well. Chaos around me and I feel very alone in handling it without my husband. This will be a long restoration process. I will share more details later but just too busy this morning with appointments this afternoon with insurance adjusters. I hope I can get a handle on myself and the situation today and even fit in a bit of a walk this evening to get my mindset back on track. This is the worst thing ever for me!

@amfmmama I have noticed that when I scroll up the page, the WOO is right where my finger hits the screen. I generally catch it when it happens but it is very annoying in any case! I noticed a WOO earlier in my reading (I didn’t read or post on Monday) but I don’t think it was yours. In this case, a WOOHOO would have been more appropriate than an OHNO.3

My name is Marcel. I am a 32 year old woman and 5'4" SW 221. My goal is to lose 5 lbs on this round. I have been doing Keto off and on for about 2 years. After about the second week I tend to give up so I am hoping this community will help me stay accountable. 🤞🏽🙌🏽❤️✅. I am doing Keto and Intermittent fasting 18:6 and it seems to be working as I am down 5.8 lbs!! Whoohoo!! This week will be my second week then starting on Monday, 1/21 I will begin fasted cardio (3-4 times each week). Hoping that will increase the speed of my weight loss. 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Yep, @quiltingjaine, I've heard that about humidifiers, that you need to be scrupulous in keeping them free of mold so that they don't spread the mold through the air. @StefanieBerger88, I hope you figure out a cause!4 -
@tlgale Do you weigh or measure your foods? I know I had relaxed doing that but started up again last week and started losing again. We tend to underestimate what we’re eating and over estimate our calorie burn. Just sayin’5

25th Round for me: Female 65, height 5’
In for another round. I think I'm back to some consistency after subbing work in Nov. and holiday food. Hoping to see a solid loss.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, -.2Goal this round: To get out of the 160’s or at least consistently not above 160. I was down here in Oct. and having so much trouble getting back there. Right now even ½ lb. per round would seem great. My short term goal is to be down at least 6 lb. by the end of March. That is just .8/Round but for me would be great progress.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 – 162.2 – Thought I had a loss in Round 64 but actually a big blip up and then went down but in the end – a tiny gain. Shows the value of this challenge, I see what’s really happening.
01/14 – 162 – Yesterday not a bad day calorie wise but very sedentary. Off to the gym here shortly and a busy day.
01/15 – 161.8 – So happy with this. A little “finishing supper late” when I got home at 10:00 last night as I had to rush out the door to a meeting but quit before it became a snackfest.

Dear Stuckup, errr I mean @texasfarmer, you made me chuckle. Your headache could be from dropping carbs too rapidly. Perhaps cut back on carbs slowly as you do CICO.

I’m in! Almost 60 yo active female. Love being outdoors and working out. I’m plant based but don’t like being different, so it’s hard. I’m in this for the long haul so I feel energetic and if I lose weight along the way because I’m sticking to the plan, that would be great! Struggle with sugar when I’m sad, lonely, tired, or when I have a headache. Clean eating makes me feel so mush better, but when I fall, I fall hard.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

01/13 129.5 Fourth day in the 129.x range. Today DD#2 turns 46. She was 3 weeks early, according to the doctor. At 7# 9 oz, I’m glad she didn’t wait! The doctor thought it was false labor and told Carl to give me 3 aspirins and a cup of strong tea. Before I finished the tea, the cramping was about every 3 minutes. Carl called the doctor and the doctor said the emergency room would be waiting for me! Someone was at the door to whisk me away while Carl took DD#1 to the sitter 2 blocks away. By the time he got back beautiful DD#2 had arrived. 21 minutes from door to done! I always thought it was interesting that DD#1 was born at 5:08 and DD#2 was born 5 hours and 8 minutes later (plus 2 years and 9 days.) I often wondering what time #3 would have been born, had there been a #3. My mind is weird! Happy birthday
**01/14 128.5 I don’t think I posted yesterday. I was busy in the kitchen all day getting ready for company for dinner.
01/15 129.5 We had friends for dinner last night. I tried 2 new recipes one for Garlicky Butter Parmesan Pork Chops and one for Blood Orange Rum Cake, both Keto. Then I also made the ketofied version of Boston Market butternut squash and the not even close to Keto dinner rolls I always used to make. I think it’s been 2 years since I made those. I ate 3 of them, in the past I would have eaten lots more. I’m still (barely) in nutritional ketosis so time to get back on track. Less than 2 qt of water.11 -

Someone mentioned that they thought this round was less chatty than last. Since I have them both starred, it was easy to look. In 10 days of Round 64 there were 946 messages. So far in 2.5 days, there are 358 messages.
Since I seem to have not posted an update yesterday morning, I had 10 pages to catch up!
Love it all - chatty or not!9 -
Trying again.
