MY NAME IS DONNA. I AM 58 YEARS YOUNG & FROM THE MIDWEST USA. I AM APPROX 5’ 5” TALL.
ROUND 23 FOR ME.

Goals:

Weight:
Short Term Goal: Lose 2 pounds this round.
First Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 175 by Valentine’s Day 💗💗💗 I hope to achieve this by losing about 1.5 pounds per week (or 2 lbs per round).
My Second Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 155 by my Birthday on May 10th by sticking to my plan to lose 1.5 pounds per week (or 2 lbs per round).
My third Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 145 by the 4th of July using the same plan as above.
Exercise:
During each Weight goal I plan on increasing my walking (back to what I did when I was on a downward trend). I also want to increase my cardio and regularly use weights to help firm my flabby arms.

01/13 183.4 Good day yesterday. Reached over 10,000 steps. Aerobic Dancing almost 20 minutes. Under calorie & carbs. Felt strong. Did not battle too much hunger. Busy work day today so the steps will be easy. The water may be challenging, but I will try hard to incorporate it. Good luck everyone on this round!
01/14 183.4 Thought it would be lower but I’m okay with this. Lots of NSV’s this past week.
01/15 186.2 Emergency situation with my business requiring local police, fire department, gas provider and then state police. Damn neighbor! Everyone is okay, thankfully, but let’s just say my meals were local restaurant runs yesterday, and I certainly ate my emotions in the form of some bingeing as well. Chaos around me and I feel very alone in handling it without my husband. This will be a long restoration process. I will share more details later but just too busy this morning with appointments this afternoon with insurance adjusters. I hope I can get a handle on myself and the situation today and even fit in a bit of a walk this evening to get my mindset back on track. This is the worst thing ever for me!
01/16 186.2 No change because I ate LNS after my fasting window last night. Eating my emotions more than actual hunger. Thank Goodness that I stuck to the plan for all my meals, Fasted until my usual 4:00 PM and took my 2 mile walk and did a little late night dancing or the scale will likely have went up. Fitbit showed over 13,000 steps and over 5 ½ miles total for the day. Blessed with this continued number on the scale after the 2:00 a.m. folly. I may try an egg fast today just to get things going again. It will depend how the day goes during the emergency and how often I have time to cook. I will keep my window between 4:00 pm and midnight. NO 2:00 am SNACKS!
01/17 186.4 Somewhat expected. 2 biscuits with dinner . Grande flaky layers no less! To offset I did aerobic dance for 43 minutes last night. However, not enough water and not enough steps. I just ran out of time.

01/13 129.5 Fourth day in the 129.x range. Today DD#2 turns 46. She was 3 weeks early, according to the doctor. At 7# 9 oz, I’m glad she didn’t wait! The doctor thought it was false labor and told Carl to give me 3 aspirins and a cup of strong tea. Before I finished the tea, the cramping was about every 3 minutes. Carl called the doctor and the doctor said the emergency room would be waiting for me! Someone was at the door to whisk me away while Carl took DD#1 to the sitter 2 blocks away. By the time he got back beautiful DD#2 had arrived. 21 minutes from door to done! I always thought it was interesting that DD#1 was born at 5:08 and DD#2 was born 5 hours and 8 minutes later (plus 2 years and 9 days.) I often wondering what time #3 would have been born, had there been a #3. My mind is weird! Happy birthday
**01/14 128.5 I don’t think I posted yesterday. I was busy in the kitchen all day getting ready for company for dinner.
01/15 129.5 We had friends for dinner last night. I tried 2 new recipes one for Garlicky Butter Parmesan Pork Chops and one for Blood Orange Rum Cake, both Keto. Then I also made the ketofied version of Boston Market butternut squash and the not even close to Keto dinner rolls I always used to make. I think it’s been 2 years since I made those. I ate 3 of them, in the past I would have eaten lots more. I’m still (barely) in nutritional ketosis so time to get back on track. Less than 2 qt of water.

01/17 129.5 Car dropped of at dealer, coffee consumed, going to craft with a friend - we each do our own thing but it’s nice to have sometime chat with. Two years ago today the cardiologist told me I had NOT had a heart attack and my weight was 174.5. I am proud of myself for the progress I have made and thank God for sending me Keto which I started 6 months later!

Back again for another challenge. Stayed at 150 something for the last 4 days of round 64. Looking forward to breaking into the new decade. My body seems to be having a pretty hard time of letting go of the 150’s. My round 64 end weight was 150.2. My goal for round 65 is going to be 148. Hopefully I see a nice whoosh in this round since last round I didn’t really get anywhere. Although I did get back to my pre-Christmas weight and had my lowest 10 day average so far. So I am taking those both as wins and moving on.

1/13 - 151.7 this must be the bounce from Friday nights beers and food. We were just celebrating it being Friday and being done with last week. Did well yesterday and plan on doing the same today. Probably will be back down tomorrow.
1/14 - 154.3 so my plan was going great until about 6 when we had some unexpected old friends show up. Drinks and a very late dinner. Water and a healthy lunch and dinner is what I have in store for today. I will be back down tomorrow. I always gain a couple of pounds after a night of drinking. I was really irritated with my results last week, so I was felling sorry for myself. Today I'm back on the wagon. Clean eating, lots of water, and no alcohol till Saturday.
1/15 - 151.6 and back down. Lol, did great yesterday. On track today so far. 2 of my kids had dentist appt yesterday, the other 2 had them today. Didn’t get fast food for myself either day. So that’s a win. Yesterday was the last time I will have to accompany my 2nd oldest to an appt. He will be 18 in a couple of weeks, so another win for this week. 2 kids over the age of 18 (in 2-1/2 weeks) and 3 to go. It goes by so quick I swear. Now if I could just see a 140 something on the scale this week it would be a 5 star win!
1/16 - 148.9 I finally got the whoosh I had been waiting for. I'm sure I will bounce around here for a week or so, but that's fine. I am just happy I finally made it in the new decade. I have been trying to do this since the middle of December. Made my goal this round, so I am just going to try and maintain and be grateful. Also this means I have officially lost 30 pounds. Took me almost 7 months, but I made it. So my new goal this round is to get well acclimated in the 140's and not go past 149.9 again. Yeaah!
1/17 - 149.6 I stepped on the scale a couple of times this morning. I got this number twice and 148.9 twice. I will have to clean underneath it and reset it when I get home. Just didn't have time this am, kids were not cooperating with me and I was trying to put dinner in the crock pot so I didn't have to deal with that tonight. So I am going with the bigger one just in case. I'm still happy it is in the 140's and I actually expected it to go up anyways. Had a larger dinner than usual last night, for some reason I was starving all day yesterday. I also had a very big whoosh the day before, so figured it may bounce around for a couple of days. Still happy and excited I finally made it.

01/14 163.5- It was nice to see the 163s again since I was at 163.7 on Wednesday (my weekly check in date), but moved up to the 164s again from Friday-Sunday. I lost 8 pounds easily since 12/1, but lately have gone to a 1.1 average on Happy Scale. Hope to move that closer to 1.5 lbs this round.
01/15 162.7- My goal for today is to complete a 45 minute spin class, eat well, and drink more water. Yesterday, I only drank 48 oz and woke up thirsty. It is raining here, so I might not be able to get to 10,000 steps. As long as I hit 70,000 for the week, I will be happy. Tomorrow is my MFP weigh in date, so hoping to be under last week's 163.7 weigh-in.
01/16 163.4- I was hoping for a larger loss than .3 lbs this week, but at least the weight is going down and still have an overall rate of 1.48. Today I have a Basic Strength class that I started going to last week. I had never done step before and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I was sore for two days after last week's class, so hoping my body reacts a bit better today.
01/17 162.9- Loved being under 163 this morning! The exercise class yesterday was hard, but I am not as sore so going to get a 45 min cardio machine workout in if it doesn't rain too much. Tonight, I have a wine tasting fundraiser so have to be very careful on calorie counting and water intake.

Goal this round: To get out of the 160’s or at least consistently not above 160. I was down here in Oct. and having so much trouble getting back there. 01/13 – 162.2 – Thought I had a loss in Round 64 but actually a big blip up and then went down but in the end – a tiny gain. Shows the value of this challenge, I see what’s really happening.
01/14 – 162 – Yesterday not a bad day calorie wise but very sedentary. Off to the gym here shortly and a busy day.
01/15 – 161.8 – So happy with this. A little “finishing supper late” when I got home at 10:00 last night as I had to rush out the door to a meeting but quit before it became a snackfest.
01/16 – 161.8 – Not sure this will stay, long day yesterday and went about 200 cals over but off to the gym today so maybe that will work it off.
01/17 – 162.4 – Third day of having a little snack in the evening – 2 cookies, 150 cal.- and here we are. Feeling behind and a little ??? about my friend – I didn’t even realize I was wondering ‘what’s up?’ with the friend until I looked at my eating pattern and saw that I was going downhill since Monday. So glad I realized that and can deal with it head on instead of stuffing it.

01/13 - 69,3kg - I’m back on MFP with a plan. Structured eating and being mindful works wonders for me.
01/14 - 69,3kg - walked in the AM, lovely weather here. Feeling happy.
01/15 - 68,3kg - !! That s what happens when I track my cals again. I’m really glad. Gonna keep on going :-)
01/16 - 68,2kg - 1,1 kg already. I have surpassed my round’s goal. Here s to keeping it at/around this number for the remainder of the challenge. My food is in check and I walk about 10.000 steps a day. I’ll keep at it.
01/17 - 68kg - nice, one more dip. I can’t expect this to go on and I also want to learn to not expect such a fast drop. I think I will add 100 cals just to get to 1600 cals and still lose, but more slowly. This challenge is really enjoyable! It makes me take a step back eventhough I weigh and check in everyday.

01/18 - 68,1kg - did some yoga stretches and walked a bit more yesterday. I’m expecting water weight to change things up a bit for the next few days. And I’m also going to start doing some bodyweight exercises regularly, because they make me feel good and I love the feeling of being able to do one more rep or keep a pose for longer than when I started. And I can see myself keeping at it in the long run.

01/13 282.6 and down a total of 11.4 pounds since Jan 1, have only eaten bad once in that time and I’m finding it easier everyday to follow my lifestyle plan. I’ve started to incorporate exercise as well so I’m hoping to really see some pounds fall off this week.

01/14 282.2 was so sick today. Ugh. I will swear to it that my humidifier made me ill but who knows. So, no exercise today and TONS of schoolwork. This semester is going to be hard especially since I’m going back to working full time. I just have to stay focused on that and losing weight. I know I can do this.

01/15 282.0 What a slow week. Still feeling pretty grungey but so much better than I did yesterday. Going to attempt a workout today. My husband got those Bluetooth boflex weights and they have a ton of exercises to do on their app. Been a long time since I’ve lifted so I certainly want to take it slow. Hope everyone else has a good day, I’ve noticed the thread has really quieted since the last one.

01/16 281.0 Feeling even better today. Did an arm workout yesterday called “Armageddon” and boy am I feeling it today. My arms are jello! Luckily all I have to do is some school work. Feeling really good about myself right now. Just, good. You know? Like I’ve finally got ahold of my life again and I know I can do this. I’m so disappointed I let myself get so out of control again but I got this.

**Just after I thought today was getting better my period comes out of no where and 9 days early which puts me at a 20 day cycle. So frustrating.

01/17 280.6 despite being super bloated. Still loosing. Attempted piyo this morning. Did about 15 min of core and the baby started crying so that was it for me. Still felt good to do it. Going to do a bit of yoga when I get home and a treadmill walk. Yesterday I was a bit incapacitated so no exercise and I did eat bad and didn’t log anything so I’m happy with my half pound loss. Also have lots of school work to do so...ugh. That too.

Up/down/up/down - and the roller coaster continues.......
Even though I keep doing this, I am feeling so much better with the changes I have been making. YAY!

1/13 - 162.7 - today is a homework day and I am notorious with snacking when I do this. So, I plan to find ways to NOT snack on crap throughout the day. If I am up by tomorrow, I hope by only 0.3lbs.
1/14 - 163.9 - and the scale shows the snacking I did yesterday.
1/15 - 163.1 - slowly making a come back from the excessive snacking on Sunday.
1/16 - 162.3 - Feeling good and making small changes. I really wanted more than one snack last night and made tea instead. I had a very large mental argument with my brain, and I actually won this one.

1/17 - 162.4 (my scale is touchy - I weighed 2 more times and the 2nd time it said 159.8, then 160.4 - so I chose the largest number to be safe). I am feeling great! My energy is up. My mental clarity is so much better. I am THRILLED with how I am feeling. I have been exhausted for way too long, so this is AWESOME!

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.

I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

My original weight was 228, managed to lose about 30 lbs, but then gradually gained to 209. And am now having troublet to keep below 200. I would love to be, eventually, 170.

1/14 = 153.9 Unsurprising. Yesterday was an unnatural one day drop. Also, last night had a couple of glasses of wine and pizza when friends came over. But totally fine. I ordered thin crust, veggie pizza. I was over my calorie goal, but acutally still under 1800 for the day, so not a terribly damaging "indulgence" day.
1/15 = 153.1 A good day. It's been super rainy this week and the lack of sun is messing with my moods. Feeling low energy, but still trying.
1/16 = 153.1 I am both happy and disappointed. Obviously, I'd like to see the scale move down. But, yesterday was a tough day. My kids' teachers are on strike and it's been raining all week. We were cooped up in the house all day. I was struggling to stay moving because there really isn't any housework left to do thanks to my recent "KonMaring" of our house. But, my friend came over late in the evening to lift with me. I hope everyone's January is going well.
1/17 = 152.8 to be totally honest, I'm losing my enthusiasm. I've not been hitting my water goals or step goals. (steps aren't that big of a deal because I've been doing plenty of other activity, but still). My eating yesterday was good, and I am still logging everything. It's still raining here and I'm dying for the sun to return.

01/13 – 370.8 – 2nd day in a row up.

Unfortunately this weekend I have had eating out functions everyday. I have another one today and Pizza Tuesday. My plan for Tuesday is one piece of pizza, no appetizers and I will order a big salad if a salad is not ordered. I eat out a lot on weekends, so sodium is high. I will drink plenty of water next two days and I hope to be down again by Wed.
01/14 – 371 – I lost 2.8 pounds at WW today! Yay! Got in my 7000 steps yesterday. Was not a blue dot day. This week I am going to do better with the blue dot days M-F for sure starting today.
01/15 371.2 – I did 7000 steps, got in 6 hours sleep, not a blue dot day. And so far I don’t think today will be a blue dot day. So in 2 days gained about a half a pound. Got to put the breaks on…..

Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)

Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

To all the Newbies here: My son's story. He is 22 years old and has Autism. At 308.4 I finally convinced him to start a diet. His is the complete opposite food plan as mine. I am Keto low carb. My son (with severe eating disorders and sensory problems with textures, smells etc.) does the low calorie. His snacks are tempting to me and mine are tempting to him, so it can be challenging for both of us at times. Today he weighed 271.6. OMGosh I am so proud. He did not gain nearly what I did through the holidays, and he has continued to lose this month in ways that I find amazing! I started this journey to be an inspiration and role model to him. He is only about 5'6" tall and was in a dangerous place with all his stats. But look how he has become an inspiration to me. I just wanted to share his success. Nearly 37 pounds down for him. This is truly a miracle considering all. Wowza! I couldn't wait to share this update!
