02/02 181.6 Sigh. In the past year, I’ve made very little progress. I’ve lost 10 lbs, then gained five and lost and gained those same five for eight months. To tell the truth, sometimes I wonder why I log and report on this site. Truthfully, the reporting reflects my effort. It’s not like I’ve watched every morsel or even made great strides with exercise. In the end, I suppose, keeping track has stopped my monumental weight gain in its tracks and that’s something. I have 50 pounds to lose, gained over years of raising kids, job and marriage stress and just plain having too many birthdays. While the actual weight loss has been a failure so far, I’m going to count my of my issues and stopping the rolling weight gain as a win. In April, I will start a new MFP year, let’s see what I can do by then.

02/02 184. 8 This is exciting! starting off strong! finally a whoosh!
02/03 183.8 The whoosh continues! I stayed on point this weekend. did have drinks friday and saturday, but my goal is to have 5 AF days so I'm on track with that as well.
02/04 185.6 bouncy scale. Not sure why! but the trend line is still going down so hopefully I can get rid of it soon.
02/05 183.6 bounce back, I guess! I like this better. Maybe it can stick this time.!
I worked out for the first time with my PT yesterday. I have been lifting weights and gym for many years without getting the results I want, so I decided to get some outside motivation. She corrected my form a bit on bench press, which is exactly what I"m looking for, so great day all around.

05/02 So I am just back from my holiday in Gran Canaria, I missed Round 66 due to the holiday and being ill, still a little unwell but had some weigh in details on my trend app so have taken the figure from that. Big swing today is from very sodium-laden pizza last night as got home later than expected and I haven't had a chance to meal prep over the weekend since I got back, just easing back into it this week, as always struggling to get back into a routine. So trying to focus just on averaging calories over the week this round. I will get back into my fitness routine next week when I am feeling a little less run down.12 -

Feeling kind of frustrated with my food lately. Not that it is overly horrible, just that 1,220 calories doesn’t leave a ton of room and it’s getting increasingly harder to ignore the sweets and snacks around me. Had a catered lunch yesterday at work and definitely ate more than I should have but still it was the equivalent of 1 full sandwich, a cup of soup and a single square. Not awful, but more calories than my green salad with chicken. Need to trust the process, but’s it’s hard when I’m up 2 pounds in 2 days and I’m not snacking or really indulging.13 -

Hi, @tandysha, 1220 calories is pretty low and I can see why that would be hard to stick with. If you've picked a calorie goal you can't live with, I think it's more likely to lead to failure than success. What happens if you up your calories? You will lose weight more slowly (as long as you are still in a deficit), but maybe you will find it more sustainable.
You didn't gain two pounds of fat in two days. That I can guarantee you.

02/02 176.9 A drop to start the round. All good. Three mile walk in the sunshine and a delicious portion controlled dinner made for a very nice night. Today and tomorrow will be limb collection and breakdown time. Probably won’t walk both days. The yard work will be enough. Happy Saturday all.
02/03 177.6 I was within calories yesterday but only because of a little yard work last night. I’m ok with it. I knew this would be a small loss after the last round. Woohoo roller coaster up
02/04 179.1 And we keep going up, but I had a VERY high sodium day yesterday with some Asian food. I did walk and do the day2 week2 of C25K, this time without stopping once so I'm happy with that. I also spent a couple of hours in the yard chopping up limbs. My shoulders and arms are sore from doing it. I thought I was working a lot of those muscles going to the gym but apparently not the ones that involve dragging huge limbs across the yard. Just have to stick to the plan.
02/05 178.5 Down is always the right direction. I am so happy to be in the 70's. I mean I'm not thrilled to be at a higher number than I was 3 days ago but I'm in a good place. I got in three chilly miles yesterday. I was going to go 4 but I was under dressed for the weather. I didn't realize the wind was gusting at 500 mph. I was so cold I almost did only one mile, then almost stopped at two miles, and I threw in the towel at three. I could not get warm all night after I got home. Turned on the gas fireplace and ran others out of the living room trying to get warm. Ended up taking a bath to finally feel warm. Woke up to freezing rain

Yikes, @shunggie, I've had days when I just could not get warm. I hate that feeling! Amazing you got to three miles, though!5

@puttyputty Thank you. I just wanted to get my miles in, I tell you it's an addiction. I was looking at spiky things to put over my shoes so I could walk when it's icy. A year ago at this time there is no way you would have got me out on a day like yesterday.3

This round covers my pill break (02/01-02/08), due to PCOS I can have a lot of water weight increase. I'm willing to eat up to maintainance some days, if needed - basically giving myself extra leeway to cope with period cravings!

02/02 / 177.6 / Didn't work out.
02/03 / 176.2 / A miracle. I did work out, but wasn't expecting to see this on the scale. Today has not been great calorie-wise though, so I'm expecting a bit of an increase tomorrow.
02/04 / 177.4 / Completely expected. Today's a new day. I will get back on track.
02/05 / 177.6 / Surprising.. not because it's a gain, but because it's less of a gain than I thought it would be. I have not been doing well this round as far as calories and working out are concerned. I think that my motivation is faltering. I will eat right today, and I will exercise when I get home. I've come too far to stop now.

02/02 = N/A

02/04 = (no weigh-in) So I've had a funky last few months. I started a new job 2.5 months ago (good thing, but stressful). I got some bad news about the osteoarthritis in my reconstructed right knee. My wife and I are trying to have a baby. We're also trying to buy a house. I've been in the throes of my sugar addiction, I haven't been exercising at all, and I've gained back just about everything I lost last year. I've been trying to get myself back to a "healthy" state of mind for a while now, but I've been feeling guilty and stupid for leaving this community in the first place. Rather than "pick up where I left off," I'm going to start over (no posting my history). We'll see how it goes, as I can always look it up later if I really want to. The bottom line is, coming here and posting every morning really worked for me before. Having your support really worked for me.
I'm trying really hard to be kind and forgiving to myself. I'm really angry that I let things go as far as I think they have. I'm really going to try to stay around for a while, 10 days at a time, just like I did before. I'll weigh-in tomorrow morning to see where I'm at. Thanks in advance for letting me hang around.
02/05 = 221.8 (-0.2), BF% =18.7 (no change). First weigh-in and post in a long time. I was under calories yesterday and on point in macros. No sweets. So far, so good.

10 day goal - continue doing 30 days yoga with Adrienn (youtube), completing day 15 on 02/12.
02/02 - 143.2 Yesterday went great! And this morning I was delighted to find myself even closer to my goal. Tonight might be challenging as I have a date. But I chose the skating rink because then I'll be getting active and I don't have to eat anything there (although I might, but I'll be sure to log!) And this guy is in recovery so I won't be drinking around him either. I think this should be pretty fun overall.
02/03 - 143.2 As of this morning I met my mini goal of 7 days in a row of yoga. Yesterday was challenging with food because I snacked instead of having meals and by 5pm I only had 130 calories left for the day so I went hungry on my date. We didn't go skating because it was too crowded and instead saw a movie. When I got home at midnight famished I had my last 130 calories. But overall I am content because I enjoyed myself and didn't break my calorie goal.
02/04 - 144 Yesterday was another great day. I enjoyed spending time with my roommate and went out with my friend. He got a bottle of this super delicious Cab called 19 Crimes, so I ended up over my calorie goal because I drank a few glasses. And even though the scale reflects my lapse in rigidity I'm not sweating it because I had a great time and I completed day 8 of yoga this morning.
02/05 - 143.4 I think I'm doing a lot right. I hope I continue on in this way. I just ordered a fitbit flex 2 on Amazon this morning. It will be here on Thursday. I'm hoping the will encourage me to be more active, take more long walks. Yoga is still going well though!
