02/12- huge ice storm, strong winds and lots of snow. Did lots of exercise today. Long day!
02/13- Third day of brutal winter weather. I slept two hours because the winds were so strong, by the time I fell asleep it was time to get up. No school for two days means grandchildren, back on routine tomorrow.
02/14-Steps up 10,000+ , walking and yoga.

@FarmerCarla I have totally fallen in love with them. Aldi sells a package that you can just throw in the microwave and steam them. I split the whole bag by 3 or 4 and serve them up with either my steak or pork chops. Drizzle some blue cheese dressing on them. OMG YUMMY!3

Hi, My name is Joan. This will be my first round.
Age- 60 years young.
Height-5’3 1/2”.
OW-156# - Oct 2016
Hit Maintenance goal weight -125#- June 2017.
I set a goal weight range of 125-130, for myself. My weight’s been creeping back up. Jan 2019-135. I Do Not want to regain weight lost as I have in past; because I feel SO good at lower weight!
I just can’t let that happen!
This challenge sounds like just what I need.
CW-132.4
GW for this 10 day challenge-130
2/12-131.6. First drop in 3 weeks! “Happy Dancin”
2/13-132.4; slept crappy last night. Did the Nighttime snacking thing. But not out a control. Still under my daily cal limit. Gotta stay on plan with my eating today. My weakest is when I’m very tired and not feeling well.
2/14-132.6, weighing daily is stressing me right now. Been working hard. Hope to see a better number tomorrow.

ER67 – 202.6 (+3.4)
Day/Weight/Comment
02/12 - 201.2 (4296 steps) Monday was a halfway decent day. No exercise. It was pouring rain so I skipped the grocery store and went to Wendy’s. Grilled Chicken sandwich and apples slices. Small bit of LNS but I was in bed early. Still pouring rain today. Hope to have the energy to grocery shop and meal prep tonight after work. Ugh!
02/13 – 202.0 (7461 steps) 34 minutes on the bike (7.03 miles) Tuesday I made it to the grocery store (both of them) and did not have any gumption to do any meal prep. It was pushing 7pm by the time that I got home. I do plan to do some tonight. Usually, once I get going, it goes pretty smoothly. I am so ready for summer and warmer temps plus being able to walk outside. This weather just makes me want to hibernate and eat! Bad combination.
2/14 – 201.4 (7072 steps) 39 minutes on the bike (8.04 miles) Wednesday I did do SOME meal prep. I did 2 meals with shrimp and couscous (those are for home b/c I don’t want to stink up the office) and 3 meals with steak, brussels sprouts, and blue cheese (2 for work and 1 for home). I still have 4 pork chops that need to be cooked and I might make some Knorr Rice Sides to pair with those. That should get me through the weekend.
****I hope that everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! While I may not have my own special valentine, my Dad did pay for my dinner tonight. #win #ForeverSingle

@FarmerCarla Are your Red Hat Ladies part of the bigger Red Hat Society that I've read about or are you just a group of long-time friends who get together? I looked up the Red Hat Society website and it's the real deal. Never knew that. Also, I totally hear you about the running thing. I was NEVER able to run when I was heavier. Then when I started trying C25K, my left knee got REALLY painful. Unfortunately, all my years of being over 300 lbs had finally caught up with me and I've got some pretty bad osteoarthritis in BOTH knees. (Twisted my right knee in a freak horse "accident" a couple years ago. Haven't been the same since.) I am almost AFRAID to try to ever run again.3
-
@SheilaBoneham - what series did you start? I am addicted to reading (or listening to) mysteries. I am currently in the middle of "Triptych" by Karin Slaughter (Will Trent series) but I love any mystery series with cats involved (Mrs Murphy by Rita Mae Brown started it all). I'm alternating listening to Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and James Patterson's Private series. (I am in my car A LOT.) lol

I joined the local Red Hat group a few months ago, and it's a chartered group. It's strictly social and for fun. Most of us are also members of charity groups, but Red Hat get-togethers are relaxing.
There are plenty of good exercises besides running, it's just something I enjoyed, and I'd like to run again. The last time I started running, just before I turned 60, was 6 months after I tore a tendon and fractured a bone in my knee from a fall. I did rehab and strengthening exercises for my knees before I started running again. I stopped running when I tore a tendon in my ankle in a fall while working in the yard, and I became too busy with other activities to rehab and exercise regularly. I just read an interesting article recommended by @eminater which, basically, recommends old ladies not run more than 1.5 miles. I may take that advice and just incorporate the shorter runs into my walks.
@eminater Thank you for the running article. It's interesting. I still want to run, but I may rethink the long-distance running.3 -
@puttyputty Thanks for the inspiration.. That is a huge number of push ups! I started and managed 11! And 35 squats. But the sit ups defeated me.5

ROUND 68 (Round 13 for me)
5’5” 67 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135 lb.
I started Round 54 and Keto WOE on September 24, 2018.
Cumulative weight loss for Rounds 54-67 = 38.4 lb.
NSVs: Besides wearing smaller clothing and my wedding band fitting now, my blood pressure has been lower on my last couple of doctor visits and when I’ve checked it at home.
I like you folks, and I really appreciate and enjoy your company. Besides, I’m not sure I can stay on track without you!
Day/Weight/Comment
02/12 137.2 I only ended with a .2 lb. loss last round, but I’m starting this round 2.2 lb. lower than my weight yesterday. My scale likes to torment with me. On a high note, I’ve been experimenting with not logging calories, just following keto guidelines, and I think I can do it. Starting out, I had to track everything, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now. I keep experimenting with keto recipes that appeal to both me and my husband. I just add pasta or rice or potatoes to his meals. I’m trying to reach my GW by the end of this month.
02/13 137.8 Not bad, considering yesterday was a 2 lb. drop and I was up early this morning. After lunch with the Red Hat ladies, I did one tax return, then took Thor on a 6-mile walk. One of our Red Hat ladies, Ruby, celebrated her 85th birthday last week. Ruby is trim and let us know she jogs, because walking is boring. Ruby’s my new role model!
02/14 137.6 Better than nothing. Today, my hip was sore all day. It hurt when I started walking yesterday (from arthritis in back, per my doctor), but I hadn’t experienced hip pain since September, so it took me by surprise. I won’t have time to walk again until Sunday, so I should be all better by then.

@puttyputty got me started on those challenges, too. I'm struggling with the pushups, haven't started the squats yet, but sit-ups (and they only want crunches) have always been easier for me. I love these challenges, and I'm getting better!2 -

Goal is to lose 1 pound a week
02/12: 144.8// Today was a lazy day, it’s snowy out and gym was closed. I played videos for the majority of my day (I think 10 hours?) It sounds bad but it kept me distracted from junk cravings I would usually have since I focused on gaming.
02/13: 144.6// Today I went to class and started my day with a shake. After class it was time for lunch so I treated myself to a cheese burger from my favorite burger place. That filled me up for pretty much the rest of the day, I ended my “dinner” with a cup of milk and a pastry. Also drank more water today too.
02/14: 144.8// Valentines! I had some French toast slam at Denny’s. I had a late start to the day so that kept me full for the majority of my day.
