A little about my dog, Belle. We rescued her at 7 years old. She was an abandoned chihuahua with a bad heart. She was very sweet but no one wanted to adopt her as she needed daily heart medication. My husband and I chose her anyway and I am happy we did. She had a nice middle and old age as a pampered and loved member of our family.12

I can't drink...sulphites in wine and cider make me itch I don't bother trying.
Spirits are vile and the cost is outrageous!
I lift weights 4 days a week, the effort I put in is epic so any empty calories defeat the object somewhat.
Drinking culture is 'acceptable' for women especially, mugs with 'I'd rather be drinking Prosecco' and water bottles with 'Prosecco O'clock' are to be found in your local supermarket.
Booze is a massive money making scheme worth billions and is the worst legal and freely available drug out there.

I need to share my stess-filled experience stuck in an elevator aka Death Box as I'd like to refer to it....anyhoo, I went to do a job for a client who is a doctor & when I was done, I entered the "death box" and it took me to the main level but the doors would not open. As I glanced at the control panel I saw the "help" button lit up...EEEEK!! I got panicky immediately, but started talking myself down & did what I needed to do & pressed the help button which seemed like FOREVER to connect...she took my info, asked if I had a cell which I did (only 27% charge tho) told me she'd dispatch someone right away...I asked, "How long?" and she said 45 mins to an hour...WHAT??
Turns out the local elevator tech is on holidays...likely sipping some alcoholic drink at some all inclusive resort as I sweat it out in the "death box"!!!!! I won't go into all the ways I survived without losing my mind, but one of them was praying for calm, taking deep breaths and steering my mind away from the doomy gloomy scenarios that were popping into my stressed out brain!!
I even texted my client's wife to ask her to let her hubby know he's getting billed extra cause I was stuck in his elevator. I only have his email & his office number or I would have texted him directly....
I DID survive though...funny thing was by the time the tech did get to the building I was in, he called me (phone down to 10% charge by this time) HE HAD NO DAMN KEY TO GET IN...cause he's not the regular guy....SO I texted my clients wife AGAIN to ask her if she'd let her hubby know that he needs to let the tech in the front door...unfortunately her hubby was in a city 6 hours AWAY!!
Thankfully, the tech used one of his elevator tools to jimmy the lock & open the door...I was SO glad to see him...I told him twice that I REALLY wanted to hug him but I won't....I said he must see some pretty panicked people when the doors open...he said absolutely...In fact, one time a guy came out of the elevator & punched the tech right in the face...Funny how we all react so differently, I wanted to HUG the guy and others want to PUNCH the guy!!
The moral of this story for me personally aside from ALWAYS have a fully charged phone with you at ALL times...I know the "help" button is there, but I did make a call to my daughter at one point to help talk me down...It's just an added security to have your cell charged & ready. The moral is THIS: if I was still drinking, I'd BE drinking, BUT I'm not!!
Thank you thank you for elevator techy guys!!
PS - I am also VERY thankful that I went pee just before I got on the "death box" … a little drama anyone??? I AM the Queen!!9 -

@Jent304 I'm so very sorry for your loss! What a wonderful thing you did to adopt Belle and give her a loving home in her later years. It takes a special person to do that. I don't blame you one bit for having some wine. Big hugs to you!4 -

I'm very excited for this! Just gives me that little bit of mojo and I like the competition (even tho it's not its motivation to act like it is) Lorraine,that "death box" experience would scare me to death! I HATE elevators as it is, wishes for a happy AF day for all4 -
@lorrainequiche59 One word: stairs!5

Another AF discovery: Workouts (swim, cycle, & run) since going AF have been much more productive, especially in the past 2 or 3 weeks (5+ weeks AF at the moment). I work out much harder now and I am constantly a type of "well-used-sore" because of it ha-ha. Also, my stamina has dramatically improved.10
