@lorrainequiche59 I would have panicked! Oh, my!! What a fright! Xo2

@lorrainequiche59 wow what an experience. Well you will be to getting more exercise, as you say, while being AF. I would not want to lug booze up 4 flights. If it were me, and the past drinking days, it would have been once or twice a day of that.3

Bleh,if I was drinkin today would be the day! All the weirdos in Vegas decided to come outta the woodwork and come in for haircuts,my patience was worn so thin but I'm home, wound down and not leaving the house for anything thank goodness
HMMMMM!!! You're reading my mind!! People can have a huge effect on me too, IF I let them. One of my biggest stressors is relationships of any sort. I have issues. LOL...Some days it is all I can do to get through the day and today was one of them. Things rarely happen in an isolated fashion, it's usually a dump of crap! Sounds like we had a similar day today and I also am home, but not wound down yet...need to soak in a tub full of hot water with my new novel and forget I'm bugged...
As I was talking with my niece/bestie this eve, I heard her sipping on her wine...every time I talk to her I can hear her sipping on her wine..there's brief moments where I "wish", because it's days like today where I could just numb it out!!!! BUT, the cost is NOT worth the brief, momentary delay of the inevitable and the serving of guilt & regret to follow. SO, I remind myself, "This too shall pass." And it shall

Was just so tired of sitting in bars with my friends staring up at TV's, throwing my money away, degrading my health by slowly poising myself, all while a beautiful day and a world spins around you. Alcohol is the biggest time waster on this planet, and time is the most precious commodity we all have in common.

Hi there! I just canceled my account with another weightloss group and was nervous about doing that because of the support I got with my sobriety. So I'm REALLY happy to see this thread! I'm 109 days sober today! I'm not having a lot of cravings and desires anymore but I know anything could hit at anytime and they will be there. I feel so much better without it, life is a lot more tolerable without it!14

Welcome @Becky71CM yep you're in a great group of "quitters" haha, Lorraine,I get the I wishes too but then remember how SICK booze makes me ugh, besides I'd never "sip" anything, last time I drank I tried to pace myself, poured my beer into a glass with ice and took a few pulls, after that was gone I rinsed the glass and hurried like a crazy person to open the cans! Nope off switch is defo broken, waves to all and wishes for a fab AF day9

Thanks for the welcome! Good luck on your continued success with being AF!
I find it kind of odd that for 5 years I drank to drown out the hard stuff and now the hard stuff reminds me how awful drinking is, especially when going through the hard stuff.11 -
9 days sober. Aiming for the rest of my life.14

Proud of you! The cost is not worth it as I know as well. The “wish” turns for me when I think back to all the negative things I have done or said. When I try to numb it.....disaster happens!10 -
@Fitness327wk yes I understand that wish, too after reflecting on the past. If you can some how make up for these things if possible and ask for forgiveness if you can. Only if no further damage gets done. You have to do it at a pace that won't cause you to start back up drinking to drown it out. Forgiving ourselves can be some of the hardest forgiving out there. I have been working on what people have done to me my whole life, too, since I quit. I have been writing it down. I have yet to put myself on the list. Forgiving and seeing how it has affected me and trying to do something about it all if I can. I have a plan to ask my daughter how I can make up for a few things over the top that I did. Plus I was married to a SOB and I yelled a lot being married to a pure evil lunatic. The yelling wasn't right just the same. My daughter should not have had to hear and endure it. I have at least told her that. Tomorrow in fact I plan to talk about it with her. I feel scared, but I can't keep it bottled up anymore or the bottle will find its way into the house.8

Thank you Hon. There was so much to catch up on today, that I didn't get to it with my daughter. Hopefully next week.

Oh those are painful memories for all of you. But keep looking ahead. Mend your relationship with your daughter- start fresh. Very rough situation you’re in. Wishing you and your daughter peace.6
