I made this for Michaela to give Lauryn for Mother’s Day. Lauryn opened it and said that she doesn’t think they make coffee strong enough. Michaela made and designed the frame herself including picking out the picture to print. That will be opened tomorrow.

Having a shaky start today after a big fright last night. At around 11:30 I was still up so went downstairs to make a tea and could hear a helicopter really close by. We have a stadium not too far away so I wondered if it was a film crew but then realised it was too late. Walked into the kitchen and saw a load of people with torch lights in my back garden and the helicopter was just over my house! Then I made out that one was a woman and she was shouting that she was police. She wanted to come in. I was terrified! She had a massive Alsatian dog with her. She told me that my neighbour’s house had just been broken into. The burglars had got away but she asked if she and the dog could come through my house rather than go back over the fence. I tried to get my cat out of the way but he got scared and scratched me then ran away. The dog was going nuts and all I could think about was the kids asleep upstairs.
All fine in the end but it just made me feel really vulnerable. Not nice.
I’m ok this morning. The sun is shining and the kids slept through the whole debacle. Just done a workout and determined to have a positive day. But i do sometimes wish I weren’t the only adult in the house! Little things like failing electrics or broken appliances, and then big things like this can make me feel a bit overwhelmed by it all being on my shoulders...
Sorry to vent, on to goals!

@Faebert That sounds terrifying! I imagine that anyone would feel vulnerable after that, especially if you're there on your own. Big hugs.
Happy Mothers day to all of you who are Moms! And to those of you struggling with this day bc you've lost a child or a Mom, or you're struggling to become a Mom, big hugs to you. I know this day can be bittersweet for many. I had many years of struggling to become a Mom and this was a tough day for me. Been many years since that but I remember. Anyway, hope those of you who enjoy this day have a lovely day (or had one if it's evening/tomorrow where you are!).
Yesterday was a lot of fun but now I'm hungover! Had a night at home with hubby while kids were at grandparents and we basically ate delicious food and drank too much wine. It was lovely. Only a few days until my vacation so yesterday was fun but I have three days left to work hard and then fun and some relaxation. I'm nervous that I'll gain weight so truly my goal is only to not gain, don't expect to lose but definitely don't want to gain.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. Whether this is a happy day or a sad day for you know someone out there in the world is sending you all of the positive vibes and wishing you the greatest of days.
JFT for me for 5/12
Active recovery yoga (done already)
Stay on plan and do not overeat when visiting my folks for Mother’s Day lunch. It’s just casual - the place we are going specializes in giant sandwiches. But like one sandwich is pretty much made on an entire loaf of bread. For me this means whole wheat, half sandwich (and only eat half of it - I’m telling you these things are huge), water or unsweetened tea and no fries. The one I get is hummus sprouts spinach tomato avocado and bacon so I’m not sweating the actual sandwich fixing - just the size and bread and temptation of the fries.
Get all of our breakfasts and lunches prepped in containers for the week

I feel so much better today. I have been running on fumes since Friday. I went to bed at 11 last night and woke up at 915. I don’t remember waking up through the night at all.
I was so tired after the kids left last night but I wanted to get a walk on so I forced myself to go. My pace was about 2 minutes slower than normal, my legs hurt and I was tired so I changed my route and only did 4 Kms. I’m pretty proud that I did it at all. If I hadn’t have decided to have a chocolate bar as a second evening snack I would have been in the green.
Today Kaitlyn and Brodey are coming out to make supper for me. Steak, potatoes and salad. I think I’ll wash some laundry and go to the laundromat to dry it this afternoon, and I need to hide all of the bachelorette crafts before Kaitlyn arrives.

AJB1014 - good for your DH to apologize and for your Mother understanding.
That lesson of reaction vs control is a really important lesson to learn. I am doing it much later in life than you. My downfall is for household things hubby won’t take control and expects me to do it, so my reaction is not always the best.
HeGoddard0928 - I hope Matt gets some answers and fixes soon.
Zizzybumble - that’s a good attitude to have, I may have been inclined to zoom right on by anything without posting goals. Although, I have them in my mind everyday.
Bex953172 - getting the house in order always helps me. Don’t overdo it and take it all on at once though.
Faebert- that would have been quite a scare. I remember when Rodger drive truck, all of that responsibility was overwhelming at times. I don’t know how single moms do it and so many do it well. Hugs to you, you’re doing it!
Nlmackey98- Happy Mother’s Day.
Korina75- well said about Mother’s Day so bittersweet for so many. Happy Mother’s Day to you too.
It sounds like you had a perfect evening.
Clicketykeys - Hugs to you. What about trying to log just one meal a day to start with? It might help ease the struggle. I guesstimate a lot of my logging and weigh occasionally to see if I’m over/under and I’m usually pretty close.1 -
clicketykeys wrote: »Positive thought: I can do it. It's not impossible. *sigh*
Well, apparently, I was wrong. I managed five miles, not nine. Three of them were walking. But if that's all I can do, it's all I can do. There will be other opportunities to run :P
So, yes. Impossible.
For now.
@Snowflake1968 - Logging is only part of the issue. The more significant part is that, in the moment, I want to eat The Thing more than I want to lose more weight. And it's not like I'm tanking up on junk food. But it's enough that I'm not losing.
@AJB1014 - I hope we get to see pictures
@Faebert - YIKES! I'm glad things worked out for you. Is your neighbor okay?!
@korina75 - Sounds like a lovely evening1 -
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in here! I have to be quick and keep it short but I hope you all have a lovely day!

@clicketykeys @snowflake1968 @korina75 thank you. Am over the scare now! Luckily the neighbours were away so nobody hurt, but their back doors were smashed in apparently. Kind of hoping it was a professional job and the culprits had been watching and knew the house was empty as mine rarely is at night! It’s also a much nicer house than mine so selfishly I guess I can be grateful for my inferior property 😬0 -
@clicketykeys - That makes so much sense to me, I was that way all Winter. I think you are just exhausted emotionally and physically, you have had such a stressful school year. I don’t know if it’s always been there s way, but it seems to me like last year wasn’t as tough for you. Maybe you need to just get through the school year and reset this summer. Don’t beat yourself up for the next month.

Hey everyone, so not logged today, but im guessing ill be over in cals! Hopefully not by much! Just got into the snacks..
So today i tried to tackle the kitchen, didnt quite get it done.
But not from lack of trying!
Casey was needy, Saskia and Marley were moaning about wanting to go in the garden, so i let them out, set out a picnic blanket, tunnel, balls, chairs, toy pram etc.
They had lunch and then a cupcake each.
And then they wanted to come in, it REALLY annoyed me. But just kids being kids isnt it.
Marley has a spot on her face and she wont leave it alone, its a mess!! Ive had to wait for her to go sleep so i can get cream on it, she nearly woke up (which is worst case scenario LOL) but she drifted off again.
Then i had to do the same with Casey with sudocrem on her face, she had a cold a couple of weeks ago and shes teething too and its left her with a rash round her mouth, nose and around her eyes, so she looks like shes got a next level face mask lol!
Hopefully i can make headway of clearing up their faces!
@Snowflake1968 i made sure i split it into rooms, then catergories. So for the lounge it wasssss. Get rid of all rubbish, move clothes to kitchen, put everything away, clean sofas, polish, sweep, mop.
It was much easier that way, just doing each task. Then i moved to the next room. And i took little breaks between tasks if needed
Its been easier keeping on top of the rooms i hzve cleaned!
Came up with my best "parent threat" yet! "Can you pick up all the stuff youve left around on the floor in the lounge?" "I dont want tooo" "Oh okay, well youve got 5 minutes to do it or ill come round with a bin bag and bin whatevers left"
Never seen them pick up their mess so quick!

Hi everyone
Happy Monday and hopefully a nice start to a nice week. I've read all the posts since Friday. I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day and hugs if it wasn't the way you wanted.
@Faebert OMG at police and their dog in your house. I would've been panicking. Glad the kids didn't wake up as they might've been scared. Well done for being calm about it.
@Snowflake1968 your crafts are lovely. Do you find it relaxing? Being against the clock is a fair bit of pressure especially when you want it to be perfect.
Well done to everyone for mostly hitting their goals. We're not perfect and real life tends to jump out on us and blindside our plans. That we're still trying is a success.
I managed most of my goals at the weekend and even pushed myself out of my comfort zone and did some exercise! I struggle massively with balance and I'm quite good at falling over fresh air so I've been nervous of any exercise where I rely on my legs. Well, years ago the kids had a Wii - if anyone remembers them, it's a small games console - and they had everything to go with it. It's been in our loft for years and my daughter said she'd help me with it. So yesterday I created an account on Wiifit and did 10 mins of stepping on and off the board in time with the game. I didn't think I'd be able to do it never mind for 10 mins so I'm really proud of myself. There's lots of bits to it so later I'm going to play tennis haha.
JFT 13/5/19 Monday
1. I’ll come back here each evening
2. Log everything and be under calorie goal
3. Take at least 5500 steps
4. Use Wiifit for 30 mins
5. Make time to be mindful for me
xx

Good morning all! I hope you had a nice weekend.
Yesterday was a lot of fun, we went to my mother-in-law's for lunch then back to my parents' for a barbecue for dinner. I definitely ate way too much, I couldn't even log it accurately so I just guestimated that I had about 4,500 calories. When I eat at the pace and amount I was eating it usually ends up being around that, so that's my go to major overeating number. I hope it's an over estimation but I'm fairly certain it's not 😞. That would have my weekly average being in a 300 calorie surplus every day.. Ugh.
I can tell I am extremely bloated this morning and there's a food baby in my belly lol, I'm just going to move forward tho, that's all I can do. Today is a new day, and just for today I'm going to stay within my calorie goal.
JFT 5/13:
1. Give Rukia her a.m. pills 😁
2. Stay within calorie goal
3. Go for a walk at lunch
4. Finish work at 5:15
5. Put away clean laundry
6. Give Rukia her p.m. pills2 -
Monday weigh-in:
Ultimate Goal weight: 154
First Goal weight: 159
Starting weight (this year): 167
Jan 7th: 167
Jan14th: 166
Jan 28th: 163.25
Feb 4th: 164.25
Feb 11th: 163.75
Feb 25th: 166.75
Mar 4th: 164.75
Mar 11th: 167.75
Mar 18th: 165
Mar 25th: 164
Apr 1st: 162.75
Apr 15th: 164.25
May 13th: 166.25
So I'm nearly back at this year's starting weight again, but I don't feel too bad about it. I've only gained 2 pounds across a two-week holiday and a long weekend in France. Previously I would have gained way more than that, so I think 2 pounds is pretty reasonable. I imagine some of that will be water weight and fall off this week anyway (assuming I do get back on track!)
This week I don't have any tricky eating situations coming up, except for possibly one leaving drinks on Friday, so it should be (relatively) easy to stay within my calories. I say 'relatively' because as we all know, this is never easy!

Woke up bloaty, 2lbs up from yesterday, and feeling sluggish so basically paying the price for my weekend indulgence. Intention for today is to eat for health/fuel.
JFT 5/13
Eat mindfully
Eat for fuel/healthy choices
30 minutes tempo run
laundry/pack
mindful meditation x3 for one minute each
Extra water today
I am leaving for vacation in two days! I am really excited but I was hoping to be further along in my weight loss than I am. But it's ok, I feel good and I am desperately in need of a few days without responsibilities. I'm on a good path and have to remember that it's not a destination but a way of life along the way.
That's my thought for the day! My intention is set to "reset/health" for today and I'm ready to make that happen.

AF day 7
Happy Monday everyone
Yesterday I did well - stayed the course but I gave in on the sweet potato fries. I counted them, there were 10, and logged them and still came in at goal for the day.
For today 5/13
Workout
Count and log and stay on plan
AF
And it’s back to work and back to that terrible project that I’d really like to finish!
If I have enough time at the end of the day report some tomatoes or start spring cleaning the windows
Have a great day all!2 -
Back from holiday and only a little heavier! (as above).
I had a very nice holiday. Chile is a beautiful country and we saw some amazing things. I will post a couple of pictures for those who are interested. It was also really nice to have a proper break. I wasn't very relaxed for the first couple of days as work had been quite stressful in the run-up, but I then switched off and had an amazing time
I'm now back and trying to get caught up on stuff, whilst trying not to lose the 'holiday feeling' immediately! There is such an amazing feeling on holiday. I have read articles about this that attribute much of the feeling to all the novelty and new experiences. The articles recommend keeping the holiday feeling going at home by seeking out new experiences when back at home, and making an effort to look at things as if you were a tourist in your own town. I think this is really interesting and I could be way better at this. I have a tendency to get sucked into all the things I 'need' to do, and to get diverted from the enjoyment of just being alive.
Anyway, on that note, here's the things to do today ....
Today's commitments:
- Log everything I eat
- Be in the green
- 3+ bottles water
- Get outside for a walk
- No eating whilst standing
- Savour every bite
- Talk back to sabotaging thoughts
- Give myself credit!
- Stay positive
- 3+ of French book, article, podcast, Duolingo
- Sort out holiday money
- Do holiday reviews
- Catch up on emails
- Do lots of French work
- Gratitude journal
- Lights off by 11
Today's positive thought: I am really lucky to be alive and to have just been on a fantastic holiday.
Words for 2019: Mindful Moderation
How I will exercise mindful moderation today: By staying in the green, even though stomach will probably demand more food, being used to holiday eating!

And here are a few photos for those who are interested... particularly @PackerFanInGB !
If anyone is particularly into wildlife, I have a LOT more photos of cute animals/ birds that I'm happy to share privately! (I'm also happy to share publicly, just don't want to spam the group with my holiday...)
