Thanks @Scott6255 yeah, sorry for not being clear, I edited. He was found deceased. It was a traumatic day, but it makes me feel good to know that there is obviously a very strong structure of support around here to help the family through this difficult time.10

Did 3.05 miles today. It was a hot mess. It included a dog that I thought was limping half-way through the run, I then called my husband to pick up the dog because I didn't want her to walk too much, and then when my husband met us by the trial said dog proceeded to easily jump into my husband's car. By the time I finished the rest of the run and got home my husband said that the dog was walking around with no limp and he believes that she was faking it to get out of the run. This is not the first time the dog has done something like this, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. We will see how she feels tomorrow, but I've decided that regardless of how much she whimpers and whines I am not taking the dog out anymore on runs. I just realized that I sound like a crazy person.
Hahaha! Dh had a cocker spaniel that faked a limp and whined when she wanted to be babied. We have a pup, half his half my border collie, thankfully she only whines when she wants you to throw the piggy or hot dog.
So funny. Crazy dog. What breed is she? I wanted a running dog, but mine had heart worms and we did a rogue self treatment after the vets plan “killed” one. No heart worms. I think I got lucky and they probably didn’t have them very bad. But, I can’t be sure of remaining heart damage, so I’m reluctant take them out like that. She’d have been a good running pup.0 -
Oh @KatieJane83, how horrible. My thoughts go out to all those affected by his loss.
I was able to take the dogs out this morning to start my "official" training plan for the Half. First run of 3 miles is done! It went really quite well, even with distractions (two cats, another loose dog (oy)... and the squirrel who thought it wise to go toward my house with the peanut while we were coming home).

This morning's run was so nice! The weather was just lovely. I got out just after 6:00 am and it was already starting to get light. It was 58F and no wind. It was one of those days that I felt like I could just run forever! But I have a HM on Saturday and I was only supposed to run 3 miles today, so I turned and headed back home when I got to 1.5 miles. I did end up with 3.4 miles for today, but I tried to stick to the plan. As of right now there is a 100% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday morning. I'm hoping that the weather will change or that at least it won't be too bad. Hopefully the storms won't be too bad and they will go through four or five hours earlier or later than expected. I can handle rain, but if it is stormy that will suck. But I am planning to run unless they cancel the race.
@KatieJane83 How awful that must have been! But it is nice to see that your company was so compassionate and helpful.
@Avidkeo Hang in there!

@avidkeo - Hang in there! Once you are signed with the agent it should be so much easier, at least it is here. Seriously they do all the negotiating with potential buyers and you just have to decide whether or not to accept an offer. Also keep thinking about how nice it will be when you get all moved, where you will be living, your exciting new job and the awesome new running routes to explore!
Oh @KatieJane83 - I am so sorry for the family's loss! I can't imagine losing a child! It really is awesome that your company helped out so much! That is the kind of response that makes employees appreciate their company and want to keep working there. Honestly not too many companies would do that.
@elise4270 - I can't imagine having a border collie that you don't run with, they are all crazy! I always thought Hobbes the Vizsla had so much energy until I had the pleasure of meeting a few border collies 🤣
No run for me today - Strength training in a couple of hours though. Hoping my trainer will help me work the stiffness out of my legs. Even though I walked a lot after the race and before we headed home on Sunday, sitting in a car in traffic for 4.5 hours was probably not the best for my legs to recover. I was able to run with Hobbes a bit last night at agility, more actually than I expected but my legs are still pretty stiff again this morning.8 -

Haha can so relate to this! So I've just got in from a 2 mile run, having cut it short as my collie/spaniel cross looked like he was panting to death. To be fair it's still 20 degrees outside and he's a hairy dude.
Get home, had a quick slurp of water and he's now looking expectant 'come on woman, we going out or what?' 😐
And in case anyone is wondering, a collie spaniel cross is as bonkers as you think. Maybe worse. Think Zeberdee or Tiger.
Any who, my 30 day challenge is ticking along..

Haha for sure! There are days when Marvin gets me through a run and then there are days where he's just a nuisance.3 -

Today my run hurt ALOT, I ran outside of my usually schedule and directly after lifting legs in the gym so I'm attributing it to those factors but wow did it back my three mile time up! Is it normal to have bad run days?8 -
@Eddie_Ice bad run days are totally normal and I think they happen to everyone. We call those Embrace the Suck runs here, lol, and I like to think of them as mental fortitude builders9

Perfect name for it because that's what it was embracing the suck bug time. I refused to quit before I hit my planned three miles! I like that "mental fortitude builders" lol.7 -

@KatieJane83 I can imagine the sense of coming together to help was very uplifting, but so sad to hear the tragic reason and outcome. A lot to process.
@Avidkeo good luck with everything with listing your house. Glad to hear your health news wasn't too bad.

The rain continued today and I opted out. Just a short warm-up on the treadmill before my strength group. He started by telling us we were going to do 50 pull-ups, which seemed a little ambitious given I haven't accomplished a single real pull-up yet. But we used resistance bands so it was actually do-able. I did a few rounds with 1 band then added a 2nd as I got fatigued. I was pleased by how much better I did than previous attempts so progress being made slowly but surely.
@elise4270 and @shanaber - tempted by your sunny weather. Less so by humidity and mosquitos but I might change my mind on that in another day or so.

Yesterday I sat around with a sick kid, and cleaned out the garage so my car fits inside. Today steps are already starting to feel better, and I walked around the concentration camp museum for about 3 hours with a friend who is visiting from the States. I've got some major travel coming up and need to pack. I probably won't run this week, but need to reduce my food intake accordingly, and now that we ate all the Ukrainian candy, there's American, Belarussian and Polish candy in a big pile on the table to take its place. If I can just keep my hands off of it, someone else in this house will eat it.6

Yep, we call those days Monday (or Tuesday or Wednesday or....). Just comes with the territory.5 -
Way behind- need to put the pedal to the metal

5.5 miles run/walk - about 2.5 running. Ankle was very sore yesterday after running almost 4 miles, but fine this morning. Seems okay at the moment but icing it just in case.
@KatieJane83 I believe I saw the news article on the young man who was found deceased - missing since Friday - what a horrifying way to spend Mother’s Day weekend, and such a tragic end to the search. My thoughts are with his family.1
