O M G... THIS. This, so much, lol. I don't remember my feet being this veiny before I piled on 80+ lbs. of fat, either. Because I know they weren't. Makes me want to go through and see if I have any pictures from back when I was 140 lbs. of my feet to compare the extent of it, lol.
I mean, I understand the physiology behind the expansion of the vasculature in adipose tissue via angiogenesis just fine conceptually. But to see it on myself? Freaky deaky, man...2 -
That it’s possible to have negative side effects. I’ve been dealing with hormonal acne for about 8 months now after losing 70 lbs. I’ve had clear skin my entire life (I’m 30). My skin is just now calming down naturally but I still have to get to a doctor and dermatologist. I’m assuming my weight loss threw my hormones out of whack or something. (I’ve read that estrogen is stored in fat so it makes sense that a huge weight loss would equal a hormone imbalance) but who knows lol. I wanted to feel good about getting healthy but it’s been overshadowed by feeling self conscious about my skin.

I am wondering if this is my situation too. I've been struggling with acne a lot lately, and although my memories are fuzzy, this seems worse than what I was dealing with during puberty. It wasn't so painful back then.6 -

I am the queen of stored estrogen throwing hormones out of balance. Messes with my periods big time and causes what I call "violent ovulation." I swear I can feel my ovaries expelling the egg(s), and I get cramps and spotting. But only when losing weight.10 -

Ah yes, I was so happy to finally have a neck, lol. Sadly I have this weird little turkey wattle thing happening. I hope that’ll firm up!

You can get the appearance reduced with laser treatments. My legs got really veiny a few years ago. I did it at a spa and it only cost 250. You can barely see them now. It was good money spent.4 -

Sadly it probably won't. As you age and have body changes the muscles in your neck separate and relax.
I was always told growing up that I wouldn't get one if I moisturized regularly. It's a lie.

It was a little bit disappointing that, having finally lost 58 odd pounds I didn't look as young and good as I did the last time I was this weight. Nope - I still look 63 - I just look a little bit more like I could go on a family hike without dying My grown up kids no longer feel that they need to keep checking that I'm doing OK and that they're not walking too far or too fast. Miss their attention but it certainly feels great to be able to keep up with them28 -

We have different metabolisms and born into different lifestyles. I don’t think we should take the blame for how we got there .. but definitely take the credit for losing it and huge kudos for keeping it off ( the Biggest Loser never had a reunion show for a reason)
I was thin all my life and never had to work at it UNTIL my mid-40s. Went up two sizes that year and then another size the following year. Accepted it as the natural progression of getting older. Wore bigger sizes for at least 8 years (didn’t even diet for my wedding). Finally faced my 162-pound self (I’m 5’4.5” ) and was aghast when I looked at the pictures. Lost 27 pounds. Gained 10 back. Lost 5. Am now trying to lose again. It can become a real struggle EVEN for those who were previously thin!
Perspective ...your fat weight is my goal weight and I’m only an inch taller....oh my!!! Sigh....

I struck up a conversation with two moms at the local community center who had little babies (8 and 10 months), I had my 21-month-old baby on my back, my husband was changing the other two kids from swim lessons in the men's locker room. I told them how beautiful and engaging their babies were and we chatted for a minute about their kids, then I complimented one mom's swimsuit because I had one in the same style. Instead of just taking the compliment she made a comment about how she didn't like to show her body because she "just had a child and didn't look good like me" or something like that. It made me feel awkward, so I just told them to have a nice swim and left. Look, lady, it's fine if you want to make self-degrading comments. I don't want to hear it, so I'll probably cut the conversation off soon after, but why did you have to bring my body into it?
I wish I'd been honest and told her my 21-month-old was her baby's age (8 months) when I started tracking my food, I was obese then. Within 6 months I was a healthy weight. I wish I had been able to encourage her, but I was taken aback.
Um, I thought she was just complimenting you.

Fat brain has a long shelf life.
I decided to start running and went out Saturday and got professionally fitted for shoes. Clerk got down on ground and took a video of my gait, from behind, thighs down to feet, and played it back for me, so she could show me how my feet land, if they pronate, etc.
I thought she had replayed the wrong video and wanted to argue with her til I realized the woman in the video was wearing my shoes and socks.
That was the strangest sensation. Out of body, almost. Like, my brain was saying “hahaha, you know that can’t be you, fat *kitten*. Dream on!” while my eyes were saying, “but who else could it be?”

Nice moment of realization of your achievements thus far - well done.2 -
I love my veins now! When I was obese I had tiny veins. When I had my ovarian torsion they were trying to give me morphine and couldn’t find a vein and ended up giving it intramuscularly because I was literally screaming in pain! I think having big veins feeding into my muscles is cool. I have a really big one in my upper arm that only pops when I lift weights.6

I've only just started, but one thing I've noticed right off the bat is how much BETTER I sleep at night. With my old diet I'd wake up really thirsty, or sweating- or would just lie awake from the sugar. Now I wake up much better!8

Since I've lost weight and become much fitter, I get ill less often and less severely.
It used to be that if I caught a cold, I'd have to take two or three days off work. I'd get feverish sometimes to the point of hallucinating (yes, that's for a cold, not 'flu), my nose would run like a tap and prevent me sleeping, it would be so stuffed with gunk that it hurt and stay completely blocked for a week after, and I'd have to take proper behind-the-counter Sudafed for days just so that my Eustachian tubes would occasionally drain and I might avoid the follow-up ear infection. It would take me a couple of weeks to fully recover, even if I didn't get a chest infection.
Now, I only have half a day of feeling really rough before recovery begins. My temperature doesn't even reach hot-and-cold levels, never mind hallucinations. On the second day of the cold I can even breathe through my nose again (albeit with lots of sniffling).
Is this what a cold has always been for most people?14 -
How amazing it is to wear non plus size clothes! To walk into a store knowing you will find your size!!

Yikes! Your old colds sound terrible. I still have to take proper, behind-the-counter sudafed to avoid ear infections but the rest of your "now" colds sounds about right. I wonder, do you think some of it might be tied to better nutrition, or did you always eat well, just in greater quantities than necessary?3 -

I've just started and maybe this will slow down some? But one thing I've noticed is that food is CONSTANTLY on my mind. I'm trying to plan all day for eating and exercising. Hoping one day, chosing the right things will become habit!10
