Hi! This is my second challenge I'm joining. Last year I did a 2018 weight loss challenge and lost around 80-85 lbs (and kept it off, give or take 5 lbs!) I did that largely by eating a Ketogenic diet and zero exercise. I never made it to my goal weight, still about 30lbs to go but I would love to carve 20 out of that figure.

I need advice:
I try to eat 25% carbs, 35% fat, 40% protein. But I'm having difficulties getting all that protein. I drink premier protein shakes, eat zone bars, chicken (so much chicken), fish, pork tenderloin, eggs, cottage cheese. What else can I eat? Jerky is a bit pricy but I'll eat it if it's in sale. Almonds are a great source with 21.1g protein content per 100g.1 -

Meat is always the best for protein! Tuna packets, egg whites, bone broth, collagen. Perhaps you could make some keto fat bombs and add protein powder or collagen.2 -

I am new to joining a group challenge. I gained 10lbs in a year, from annual physical to annual physical with my doctor. I’ve been on a staedy increase for the past several years....I’m in need of accountability buddies! Like others, my exercise has been fairly consistent but my food intake is where I fail. I turn 50 next year and I want to be at my goal weight.

What I've learned about myself

I’ve lost 10 lbs over the past 2 months and am worried about keeping going when school,starts back up in August. This sounds like a perfect challenge for me!

W1 8/4: 256.4. Depression has been hitting hard the past few days, making it very difficult to stay active. Still, down 5.5 lbs in 9 days is an amazing start.
W2 8/11: 252.4 All summer I’ve been “officially” weighing myself after I workout as the number was 2-3 lbs lihter than right when I woke up and made me feel better. I realized this past week that he difference was just water, and that with school starting back up I will be swtiching from morning to afternoon workouts, so that model just wouldn’t work anymore anyway. Today was the first day I “offcially” weighed before working out. I expected a number in the 255s, as that was my preworkout weight all week, so the 252 was a pleasant surprise. Down 4lbs since last checkin, 9.5 since starting weight for this challenge, 19.5 total (since may 23).

Referring to 😞: Don't let the scale discourage you. I've sabotaged myself over and over again simply because of a number on the scale. My mantra is "weight loss is not linear!" Keep up the good work!3 -
