Honestly figured the police department(s) involved would drop the ball on the wallet theft, as it was stolen in one town, and used in another, but got a call from a detective, tracking down the time(s) the cards were used and where, to try to get video of the thieves. We'll see what the upshot is. Trying to just let it go now... called the credit card folks and gave them the case number for the report I filed. Now it's all in the hands of the law...
Rori - LOVE the bathroom. We did the walk-in shower during the reno (and for the same reason, to age in place), but without the glass--just personal preference. Seriously love the cabinet over the toilet. Mars looks like he approves.
Today was my 19th day (out of the last 24) at the gym - eight more visits and I'll feel as if I've started a good habit that I can continue... I know the 27 times to get a habit ingrained is an old wive's tale, but then again, I'm an old wife.
I can already tell the difference in my flexibility and overall mood when I don't go, so it's already starting to be necessary to me.
Love y'all,
Later,
Lisa in AR

Today is International Bow Day!
"During the 18th century, men primarily wore bows. However, as fashion trends changed, women began to wear the accessory, too. They chose a variety of fabrics, styles, sizes to compliment their wardrobe. Throughout the generations, bows continue to maintain their fashion power. While they never went out of style, designs and place dictated the fashion trends. On International Bow Day, celebrate your style with bows. Whether you chose to where them in your hair on as a clothing accessory, there’s something for everyone!"
Debby - So glad you are able to give your daughter the gift of a safe place to stay and help getting herself out of a bad situation. She deserves better, and I hope you can convince her of that.
Lisa - I'm a cover-flapper too! I really need to have a cool room to sleep well. Mostly I sleep with my feet sticking out the side since I like to have covers on, but if it's not cool enough I'll be in and out of the covers all night. And I have no idea how people sleep through the night with socks on!
Katla - We don't bathe Luna either, but she's not a smelly dog. We've been lucky, in fact, that none of our dogs have been. My mom and dad had a lab and a golden retriever, and they both needed frequent baths. I guess some dogs just have B.O.!
I know I've been AWOL so I had to do a lot of skimming to catch up, but it was an excused absence in that I was at the river house without cell phone or internet connections. Got the next-to-last Roman shade finished and installed. Back now and trying to convince myself that I should get on the Nordic Track this afternoon.
Just got word that our former foster longdog Forrest is going out for another sleepover this week. (He went out once before, to what I thought was going to be the perfect placement, but it didn't work out.) He's a sweet, sweet dog and I'm really hoping this will be his forever family. On that note, the adoption group called me to ask if we were ready for another foster but I put them off for another month since Philip and I are still working hard to finish some home improvement projects and we don't need another helpful dog underfoot while we do it.
I'm not much for ruffles and bows, but if that's your thing then tie one on today!

Rori It all looks very smart. Nice colour.
Wish we could get some decorating done. For me it's either holiday or house. The holiday won.
Recovering now, and I've got through the rest of the day without binge eating. Hooray! I put so much energy into my visitors I wear myself out.
DH back from the cricket. They had quite a bit of rain, but some play as well.
I'm meeting my Portsmouth friend for lunch tomorrow in Brighton.

Debby VA I'm so glad your daughter & grandson are staying with you now!
Rori I really like that bathroom renovation. Everything looks modern & inviting.2 -
Just measured my neck to waist they all went down to smaller numbers! Still hard to truthfully measure my hips span darn Csection shelf gets in the way lol so I measure it as my hips too lol 😂 might as well pants don’t know the difference between my hips y Csection belly their all in the way of the buttoning no matter what lol.
Not measuring for a long time again now .Takes forever for the number to drop. Go to progress to see weight graph pop down where it says weight shows neck measurements to hip so you record there.

Rori love the bathroom remodel, so modern and sleek.
DD goes back to school Thursday and of course I'm happy for her, but will miss sharing meals with her and the sound of her stomping around, lol

Michele I put it on dry. When I used it in our home I put it in small plastic lids. We do not have pets that would get into it.
Lisa we learned when we had our debit card number used (We think it was stolen at a restaurant) that for it to be a felony the charge had to be over $500. It was maddening. We learned about it when we got a call from a vendor about a $300 charge we did not make. Fortunately the charges were discovered before they went through.5 -

Lisa in AR -good perspective on the wallet loss. I also get that third voice on the left side of my head. Thankfully it doesn’t (usually) speak out loud!
Heather UK – your visit sounds great. Nice picture!
Kate– welcome!
Rori -nice bathroom remodel. A couple of years before my husband died we redid ours with a walk in shower (got rid of the tub). It's a smaller 1950s bathroom, but the shower made a huge difference. I was very glad to have it as my hips got worse and after the replacements. Put a portable shower chair in there and it was a real life saver.
Had good Monday. Took time to clean out some piles in my office. Going to spend another couple of hours on it tomorrow. Due to the hectic year, it had gotten out of hand. Need to get organized before budget season starts.
Got some bike time this am, walk at lunch and small weight/stretching tonight. All around successful day.
Have a good rest of the evening all.

Finally, here are some early photos taken of the finished room.
Stay well friends. We can do this.

Very Nice!!
The only change I think I would make is to install a handrail outside the shower on the wall under the towel rack to assist with stepping in and out of the shower.
I'd love to be able to renovate our bathroom/toilet room to make it safer and more accessible ... but we rent. We've had several people in (Occupational Therapists, etc.) looking at our setup and none of them really like our bathroom, but we can't do anything about it.
All the OTs have suggested that we ask our landlord to do a major bathroom/toilet room reno, and that if we propose it with, "The place will be even more desirable and you'll be able to ask more money", then they're sure to go for it!! Yes, but .................. the place is rented to US for an amount of money WE are happy to pay. We don't want them to put it on the market for an extra $50/week or whatever!! <<sigh>>
So the most I've done is to get fuzzy bathmats to drape over the tub and put on the floor in front of the shower to cushion the area just in case there's a fall.

Katla- sending good wishes for your DH’s visit to surgeon. The waiting is so hard.
Rori- your new bath looks lovely. Love the color of the walls. I don’t think we can age in place as we have too much lawn and DH thinks he has to do all the yard work. I am quite happy to have a housekeeper twice a month.
Terri- loved the video of the wedding. It as very well Don.
Still soooo hot. Can’t do much at all because it makes me feel so tired.
Getting late so better get to bed.
Suebdew in TX. 103 with heat index if 108 today.

Rori, great job on the bath! Even the cat looks proud like she did all the work! Haha!

Thank you all for the compliments on the wedding video. I am so thankful we decided to have it done.
Rori - love the bathroom
I am not going to type a lot today, something is going on with my hand and it hurt to hold my pen at work today.
I think I’m doing too much typing on my phone.
Hello to everyone though!

Ridiculously crazy hot here. I think our heat index was about 105F. The first day of the fall semester went well where I teach. I have my returning sophomores tomorrow. Hoping for a great day with them too.
I seriously need to get to the gym. Crazy busy with the start of school, but I think we will calm into a routine soon. I just need the gym for some “me” time.
