This morning I ran 3 miles for the first time since 2013. And it was awesome!
My plan was to run 30 minutes...usually this equals about 2.4 miles or so because I am slow AF. But the temperature was so cool today that I pushed myself to add 5 minutes. Then, I was so close to 3 miles, I just went for it.
I finished 3 miles in 36 minutes. And I can’t wait until Monday so I can do it again. 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
I did 200 pushups for the first time yesterday. Not all at once. 100 in the morning 40,20,20,20 and same in the evening. When I started my WLJ last April, I could barely do 2 in a row and was out of breath.
i hate 3 cinnamon buns and my weight went down, it seem to work to mix it up, so maybe it is good to go off healthy eating and then get back on after having a fattening food. 2 lbs down!
I ran 2 miles nonstop in 22 mins which is huge for me! A few months ago I couldn’t run 3 full mins without taking a break and struggled with my cadence and breathing. -33 pounds and a little determination later I am in pure shock 😌

Gonna mix metaphors here, but isn't a great shock!?
I don't run. I even avoided it when I was much younger and healthier! The other day a short test to try out new phone earbuds became a 60 plus minute walk, can't remember last time I did that! All I got was a bit sweaty, 😊🚶🏻♂️

@geraldaltman most definitely! It’s amazing what we think we aren’t capable of at times.
Managed to get my 10k (6.2miles) time down to 45 minutes. Considering I didn't run at all this time last year, I'm more than a little pleased. Well on track to hit a 1hr30min half marathon!

I didn't mention, except in previous posts here that you might have seen, that if I tried the same walk a year ago, it simply wouldn't happen. It'd have been much, much shorter if at all and with a roller walker. My hips were really really bad. Finally getting hip replacements put me over the top and got me to that walk!
Spent my son’s soccer practice walking and even ran for about 20 minutes (instead of standing around making awkward small talk with all the dads). I did not enjoy the running, but I didn’t die (mostly my hips were angry), so yay. I’m supposed to run a 5k with my sons in December and figured I haven’t run since last year’s race, so I should get on that.
I wear dresses almost all the time. I like them loose and flowy. Today while at the grocery store my underwear started to slide down all by itself. I had to hurry up with my shopping and go home. Hard not to giggle I was so happy to realize I’m starting to get smaller!!!😂
Last Sat. a.m. I walked in the Run for the Hill of It 5K (second 5K race this month). It was cold (I wore my fleece lined pants, wool socks, gloves & winter headband), very windy, and muddy. And totally fun! At one point, a deer crossed the trail in front of us, got caught in branches trying to cross the creek, and managed to free itself and scramble up the bank. Going UP the steep sledding hill section at the finish (altered somewhat due to muddy conditions), I managed to get up the hill in 1:58 (goal < 2 min.). Total time of 48:06.
My Fitbit said I was on an elliptical, and my heart rate was at Peak for 73% of the race. Not bad for a trail event with hilly sections, tree roots, rocks and mud... had to slow in some spots to navigate; my shoes and pants knee-downward were mud-spattered but I stayed dry.
Afterwards, one of the runners (cute male maybe half my age of 62) saw me take a big cookie and said "that kind of defeats the purpose." I laughed and said I do this so I CAN eat the big cookie! Life is too short to not eat big cookies.
I am starting to see a small difference in the appearance of my face. Up until now, my weight loss hasn’t felt “real” to me because I still pretty much look the same as 25 pounds ago. So, finally seeing some visual confirmation of my progress is nice.
@brenn24179 I find the same thing. I am on point with my food and every once in a while I have an 'eat bad' item day and it results in kick starting something back up. It was my birthday weekend this past weekend as well as Canadian Thanksgiving. I indulged in foods I hadn't since my journey restarted and I lost 2.6lbs! I am now down 32.6lbs since July 22, 2019!
I have been able to maintain my proper eating habits through quite a stressful time. I have a need to comfort myself but fortunately have been able to find it through healthier means.
I have upped my Deadlift from 70lbs to 135lbs and my leg press from 100lbs to 300lbs in 4 months
This is super impressive. I was so excited yesterday when I was able to rep 180 lbs on the leg press. Deadlifts are a no-go right now because of my back.

Doesn't seem like much, but it made me happy.
