I thought about being plant-based more than once, but cheeseburgers are a thing so that pretty much sunk that.11

It's an absolutely gorgeous day and I woke up with a crazy sore neck again. Ugh. I think I'm going to get a new pillow because this is ridiculous. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow and run then. I did walk the dogs today.
I hope everyone has a great weekend7 -
Have a great run @somum
Wore new support socks today and my longest toe on each foot feel like they want to explode. I won't be using them again!3 -
It was not easy but I made it. I rolled my ankle starting off too fast in the corral so I ended up walking the half☹️. The pain was intense but I pushed thru and while I am slightly bummed about having to walk I am so thankful I finished strong and still ran across the finish line running the last mile. The conditions were harsh with temps below freezing and with the wind chill factor it easily felt like it was in the teens. The ambulance was picking folks up on the track and some of the spectators were MIA perhaps due to the cold. But all In all I am so happy I accomplished my goal of finishing strong and that I did. Oh and for race food- so while I did eat energy gels and power aid along with post race food did remained mindful of how much I ate plus my tummy was upset so I slowly took in calories. I am wee bit lightheaded with a headache with super low pulse, BP plus an ankle that’s throbbing. Now it’s time to rest and heal. In the spring I am running definitely running the Shamrock so I have plenty of time to heal the ankle and train and learn from what worked well- determination and motivation not to quit and what didn’t work well so rolling my ankle because I took off to fast and not heeding my own wisdom and race day plan. Thankfully I had a back up plan to walk if my body did succumb to conditions or injury so I wouldn’t over do it and injury myself more.13

Thanks again Runners for your love and support! Ps. I didn’t take many pics but will have my medal and race blanket that was given at the finish line.2

Had some life issues that got in the way of my running this week. I almost didn't get to enjoy our few days of cool mornings but I made a point getting out Friday morning before all my appointments and this morning while not the cool foggy overcast it was cool and very sunny. Yesterday's run was a pace run on the plan and I wasn't sure I would be up to it after 3 days of not running but my body was very happy to just go. Today after the pace run yesterday and probably more impactful, a PT session yesterday afternoon, my legs especially calves and my knee were tired and cranky. The PT has me doing a lot of single leg abduction work with bands and I was kind of surprised my glutes weren't sorer. The stabilization of the plant foot is where I really felt it though, so calf muscles and whatever muscle/tendon is along the outside of the ankle. I need to do the exercises again at home tonight assuming my legs are up to it. It is clear I cannot do them the day before a run though and I will certainly not do them prior to my race next Saturday.
Now to catch up on the thread - I am only 130 posts behind...

Lifting and long run today. I met my goal of getting started earlier so the entire day wouldn’t be eaten up with running. I didn’t take the dog because she puked last weekend and I promised her Id take her on a short, easy run tomorrow.
Total of 7.64 miles today! I only planned on 7, but per the usual, I was having fun and sort of exploring and then realized I didn’t know exactly where I was.... I worked on my pace a little but it is so hard for me to care about pace on a trail with a lot of changes in elevation. Plus I had already lifted and my legs were getting tired. I ran on the paved, flat trail for a little bit to see if I was faster on that surface and it shaved actual minutes off the splits. I went from 19 to 15 just from switching and that was with frequent stops to take pictures. I also found a deer, who met my gaze after I said hello. We stared at each other for a while and after several seconds, took off running in opposite directions. It was really quite a bit of fun but now I need to figure out what to eat. I don’t even feel that hungry....7 -

Only 10 and much slower than planned. Temps are falling to the point that Raynaud's management is starting to be a limiting factor in runs. Plus I was just tired for some reason. Probably have a brief surge of warm weather though before winter really hits in January. We will see.8

@Camaramandy648 Sounds like a great run! Glad the deer went in the opposite direction and didn't start chasing you.
@PastorVincent Sorry your run didn't go as planned, but at least you were able to get out and run.
@shanaber Sorry life issues happened this week. Glad you were able to get in a couple of runs.
Today was a scheduled rest day. I mowed the lawn and blew the leaves off of the porches and driveway again. It won't be the last time either. Oh the joys of living in the middle of a stand of deciduous trees.2 -
Thank you so much @PastorVincent0

Cool! That looks like a very elegant way to do them. I see what you mean by lowering yourself down from one.
thanks @mbaker5661 -
@somum Having to walk a half in those cold temperatures, brr... in many ways harder than running! Good job finishing, you earned your medal! Hope your ankle heals quickly!
My husband and I did 5k yesterday at the Greenway, just at dusk. Weather lovely but chilly breeze. The path was ankle deep in all colors of fallen leaves. Also: I love eating pecans, but hate running on them. Heel striking on a hidden pecan is like suddenly discovering you are wearing one roller skate. It was supposed to be a fast run (we usually do a fast first mile then a couple of faster intervals) but ended up being only medium speed, because we both have colds. I felt a little better yesterday than the day before, but feel worse today. So far this feels like a simple, straightforward cold, so hopefully it will get better soon and not worse.
As far as my weird leg spasm, it didn’t bother me at all during the first fast mile, then started up while we were taking a walk break. Going faster and ignoring it seems to make it behave better. I’m still thinking weird nerve thing.7
