Kate UK - I've done a very quick Google and, as far as I can tell, that looks very good. Almost too good! Smart scales are not all that reliable, but, if you are anywhere near those figures, they are very good. Do you weight train?

Yes I do use weights but wonder how the 2 figures relate to each other. I don't take the results as gospel

Kate is it lbs or kgs?

Kate oh I see it's lbs…and refers to "muscle mass". Sorry, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. That would be a lot of muscle even for a muscle-bound man.

Well here it is Monday again. Time is just flying by and one month from today is Christmas. We are expecting a big storm starting late tonight. They are saying 4-8 inches of snow and 45 miles a hour wind. I work the next couple days and Thursday we planned to go to Kansas for DH's family. Will have to wait and see what the weather is like.
My eating is all over the place and I would like to just be able to sleep about 2 days striaght and see if I feel better.

Hi All,
I just found this group; hope you don't mind me crashing. I've read through the most recent 5 pages of posts but am bound to ask some silly questions.- I love the Hallmark Workout! So fun.
- I had pasta for lunch and just logged it. It doesn't give me much room to sweets after dinner tonight so I pre-logged a smaller portion of chocolate for my afternoon snack and a smaller portion of pumpkin gooey butter cake for tonight. Looks like dinner's going to be oven baked chicken breast and oven roasted vegetables, lol
- Umami, for me, is an ingredient that just adds a little something/something that enhances the flavor of a dish. Worcestershire and dried mushrooms added to beef dishes (which I eat very little of these days) is something I do a lot.
- Someone mentioned celery. I munch on it all day because a stalk only has 7 calories but 2 grams of fiber! I wouldn't say it's my *favorite* vegetable but it does help keep me full.
I celebrated Friendsgiving on Saturday and will spend Thanksgiving with other friends. To counteract those food fests, I squeezed in a 5k Turkey Trot yesterday. Couldn’t have asked for better weather for a Sunday this late into November!
Gratitude:
#9: Place – Cabo, Mexico: I don’t travel for the holidays but do take time off in late January/early February and spend a week or two down there. It’s the right time to break up gray, cold, wet winters in Seattle and the water & sun are good for my soul!
#10: Taste- anything on a Thanksgiving plate right now
#11: Holiday-Thanksgiving is truly my favorite holiday. I love food. I love my friends, who are like family. And, on Thanksgiving, I get and give the gift of both.
Happy holidays to all!

Jessica in Seattle Welcome to our group! Most of us joined by crashing the party.

Jessica in Seattle, I hope you will keep coming back. Each of us started here, just like you, by jumping into the conversation. I am a classic introvert so celebrating Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving or Cheesegiving or any other holiday with friends is something I don't do. I am cooking a turkey because my husband loves turkey and many of the traditional sides and I like making soup from the carcass and the meat we don't eat right away.
It was cool enough this morning for me to wear my "winter in Maine" coat. The wind added to the chill. Nothing bothers the dogs, they will walk in almost anything.

Woah this thread moves so fast, I miss a day and am totally behind. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and kind words. A good deal of my stress has gone away the past few days. We made some decisions and decided to cancel our spring litter. There is just to much happening we are probably going to breed in a couple years. We don't breed very often only when I personally want a puppy for the next generation of show dogs and the timing is just not right so I won't be going to Cleveland thankfully and can just relax. I am so relieved. Now I can focus on just obedience training the dogs that I have and not worry about the food issue.
I spent a good part of the day practicing fiddle and guitar but didn't get a chance to touch the viola or whistle.... maybe tom. and now I need to warp the loom or holiday gifts will never get done so back to work I go.... thankfully I only have two more weeks of teaching until the end of the semester and then can buckle down and get a bunch done.... Just have to get through this holiday ....
jessica I recently crashed the party as well so welcome.....
Barbie I also just wore my Winter in NH coat for the first time this year. I have a new friend who is insistent on doing various camera adventures (I typically hibernate in winter but she is teaching me how to use my camera) and considering this, I just bought a Baxter state parka coat from LLBean and was excited to wear it the other day.

I was able to get an appointment for this Wednesday at 8:40 am. I then worked on Christmas cards most of the day. Sending out about 50, mostly family.

Ellie here, age 60.
With the help of MFP, I lost 65 lbs in 14 months, reaching my goal weight in 2015.
Here I am again, having gained back half of that loss. No excuses, just reasons: Lost my job in 2016 because I could not relocate for the company. Could not relocate because I was primary caregiver for my mom (in her 90's) in Hospice. Over the course of the 4-1/2 years she was in terminal care, I started my own company, landed a consulting gig, stayed nights at mom's when we could no longer afford caregivers, and eventually moved her to assisted living and tended to her daily needs.
I am so grateful that I could help her with her care through the end of her life, and feel satisfied that she was comfortable and content, and ready to leave us when she did. I am privileged to have been there with her as she left.
Fast-forward one year from her passing: I have landed a permanent position, working from home. I can spend my weekends hiking and going to the climbing gym. Today I biked to a co-working space (downhill there, a bit torturous back) to get out of the house. Working from home, while convenient, leaves the kitchen close at hand. Plus, there is no commute, not even walking from the parking lot!
I feel back on track to have a much reduced calorie intake, and foresee that I'll be back in my little clothes before June when I'm scheduled to travel with friends. My weakness is wine. My family opens a bottle of Prosecco with dinner, and I need to limit myself to just a few glasses each week... while staying with my mom and holding my evening pity parties, I easily consumed 3 bottles each week.
Well, thank you for allowing me to air my experience. I am moving forward with confidence now. Some thoughts I keep in my mind when temped: "I'd rather be fabulous than eat potatoes" (when tempted with chips), or "Remember, you want to be the envy of every woman, and the desire of every man!" (understanding that this must be qualified with an "age appropriate" qualifier, and cis gender).
Thanks everyone. Keep it up!!

Kenna, Where do you live? I live in NW WA where it rarely gets colder than 25 F but I walk my dogs every morning no matter what the weather. We walk for about 30 minutes before breakfast (about 5 AM) and 2 hours after breakfast (about 6:30 AM) and I seem to be colder than most people, so I wear all the warm clothing I need. Congrats to you for making a good choice to decrease your family stress. All your hobbies sound like great fun. I knit, dance, and walk dogs.
Ellie, Welcome. You've jumped a lot of hurdles to get where you are today. Thanks for sharing your motivating statements. I lived close to my parents until their parents and I haven't regretted a moment of the time I spent with them.
