M – but if you made a meal of, say, flounder, veges, and an apple, but I only have the apple, that wouldn’t work
Michele in NC
If you select All Meals, it just means you'll get food from Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks or whatever meal categories you've set up.
This is my Food page. I have chosen to divide my day into four meal categories called Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks. You can choose your own categories.
I click Add Foods under Breakfast and this is what I see. Notice that the Recent tab is selected. I rarely go to the other tabs. See the dropdown arrow next to the word Breakfast? Click that and you'll have the choice of just your Breakfast foods or foods from all the meal categories.
I've clicked All Meals and see the difference? The image above showed my Breakfast items whereas this shows what appears in all my meal categories.
So apple, as you mention, does not show up in Breakfast, but it is in one of my other meal categories (Snacks, actually) and when I clicked All Meals, it appears available for me to select for Breakfast if I happen to decide I want an apple for Breakfast.

Machka: A “little” biopsy is an assault to your immune system and it needs to kick into gear to recover. Rest is it’s best healing option. :flowerforyou: Since we’re “polar opposites” regarding seasons, what do you do to add light to your life in the winter? I always think of our Christmas lights as a mood lifter in long nights and short days. The added lights in the short days of winter help me stay cheerful.
Katla in Beautiful NW Oregon
I find winters here dark and depressing ... especially once DST ends and it's pitch black when I leave work.
I wish we did have Christmas lights in June!! So I've set this up on my table where I have my laptop and it seems to help a bit in the evenings.
Fortunately we have flowers year round, so that helps too.
Otherwise a lot of people travel in winter ... 2 or 3 weeks up in Brisbane, or over in Vanuatu, Bali, Fiji, or maybe North America. People tend to stay relatively local (at home, visiting family, camping, etc.) in the summer, but travel further afield in the winter.
Before my husband's accident, we were travelling to Canada about every other year for 3 weeks or a month or so in June/July. And then on the other years we'd travel to other parts of Australia. Since his accident, we're limited to travelling within Tasmania ... not as nice as going to Canada or Brisbane or something, but the time off does help because I can get outside, or at least see outside, during the day.

Carol in GA
I kind of accidentally do IF, and when I'm on a mission to lose weight, I log my calories. It would be so easy for me to go over my calories in the 10 or 12 hours that I eat each day.

I got my biopsy results! It's a little benign tumour. Nothing to worry about.

M - thanks so much.

Machka: Congrats on the benign biopsy report! Good news is wonderful. Time to do something fun to celebrate.😎1

Rejoining the crew after getting back on after 2 years. Felt like I could use the mutual encouragement. This year has been a crazy year! I just adopted 2 children (now 5 & 7), still leading a small private school, and two weeks ago was diagnosed with endometrial cancer leading to a whirlwind week of transfusions, hydration IVs, and emergency surgery (radical hysterectomy). I'm thankful it was found and removed but this recovery period is kicking me!8

I hope you heal quickly. Rest well.🌺2

Tekavincent - best wishes for a speedy recovery. What is your name? Well done on the adoption. Phew! What a year!

"Todo"s and "done"sDid Sunday: church, organized firehall paperwork/started board mtg minutes, baked crescents, found forgotten cookies recipe, but had 3 glasses of wine not two. Today: wrap Joe’s present, make tuna salad, wrap Lois’ ornaments, take Tumble to groomer, drop off Tracie’s GF cookies/Lois’ ornaments/thrift store donation, pack and mail Mariah’s goodies, finish minutes. Tomorrow: bake forgotten cookies, print firehall stuff and drop off.
Barbie, Lanette, Kim and Katla thanks for the recommendations. There’s a Big 5 Sporting Goods in Crescent City, will see what they have, and maybe try Tractor Supply too. KJ thanks for the baseball cap under hood tip, might solve my hood-hanging-down-over-eyes problem. Won’t shop ‘til after Christmas, too crazy out there!
Lanette sorry to confuse. PC guy is finding a good used Dell, putting a solid state HD into it, installing Win10 and all the stuff he backed up from my old laptop, whose hard drive is failing. Won’t get it 'til after Christmas so stumbling along with Joe’s. Gonna have to add my printer to Joe’s laptop. Want to temporarily disable wireless on Joe’s laptop so can connect via ethernet for banking and one last Amazon order (superstitious about having wireless active when doing financial stuff… ;> ).
So, pip, are you wrapped up as a gift for Kirby?
Machka hooray for benign!
Welcome back tekavincent. Healing and strength to you.
Just skimmin’, gettin’ sleepy.

Yesterday evening went really well in the end. She arrived in a lather, but was able to calm down and, I'm pleased to say, really enjoyed all the Middle Eastern food I'd chosen for her. DH was very happy. When we went to bed he said it was a wonderful day - just what he needed.
He is out right now walking along the seafront with her in the sunshine on the way back to the train station. I'm going to get a few minutes of writing under my belt. I hope to run this pm. Little bit of shopping to do, but no panic for that. Maybe tomorrow.
I'm pleased he enjoyed himself with Edie and Becky. He said yesterday that he finally thinks he ought to see the doctor about his back. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!

Lynette, Forgot to answer.....yes very close to initial goal. Only 7 pounds to go. I'm finally at a healthy BMI, albeit on the higher side. My plan is to see how I look and feel when I hit goal and may either maintain or lose just a little bit more.1

Machka - Happy to hear your results were benign.1

Thank you all ... I am relieved to hear the good news too.
Today's big accomplishment was making a pavlova. We'll have it tomorrow (Christmas Eve).
Otherwise, I don't feel like I did much. I did do laundry, go for a short walk, process and post a few more photos, rip another CD, purchase presents for my parents and brother (online), and sort out some of my emails, but that's about it.
And yet I feel tired. I suppose it's all the recovery process. Recovery from another very busy year and from the biopsy.
About photos ... I've added some of our apples to the Tasmanian Summer album:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/machka-bb/albums/72157712143875701
I'm going to drink my chamomile tea while listening to selections from the Nutcracker Suite and then go to bed and read my book for a bit.

“The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.” This is so appropriate regarding my trying to get caught up on everyone’s posts. I love reading them, but I don’t always keep up as I would like.
It’s official…DDIL will be induced on 12/26 if Baby Iris doesn’t decide to come sooner! Grandma is tied up in knots! 😊 Really hoping and praying that she will deliver before Christmas so she can stop being so uncomfortable!! Would be great if she could go into labor now so the Baby is here before everyone is on Christmas vacations…
Also official, they have decided to have me take care of Iris after Hannah goes back to work. I am so happy! It will be great to have such purpose in my life since I have been without any real direction since my early retirement. I am thrilled to be able to help them save all the money they would have to spend on childcare, and it will be such a great bond for me and Baby!
Karen in VA The info about starting the year without an IEP infuriates me! I used to advocate at IEP meetings for the children I worked with and even good meetings were frustrating. I had one principal tell me the child was getting an adequate education. I said, “Would you be satisfied with an adequate education for your own child?” Shut her up quickly. Starting over without the IEP is just like flushing all the work that’s been done down the toilet. Very sad!
Janet Thank you for the sugar free pie recipe!!
Welcome PAC!!
Heather So glad you did not get hit in your near crash!!! Scary how people drive these days! Your visit sounds wonderful and I LOVE your picture! So much joy!
Pip Adorable kitty under the tree! I don’t know what we would do without pets!
Flea Not another person with their birthday forgotten!! I’m so sorry! You deserve to be celebrated! I remember being horrified when Carol mentioned she was forgotten, too. Your cat’s daily removal of tree ornaments is hilarious!!
Allie Hope all went well with travel and your brother’s eye surgery! – Can’t believe they didn’t do it after all of that! So sorry you had to have it spaced out. Hope he is doing okay. I will read on to find out!
Machka Wonderful news about your son moving back to the area! I know you must be thrilled! Your new profile pic is lovely! I can almost feel the warmth of the sun shining on you! So sorry you had to have your leg cut up. Such a rough place for a cyclist to have their skin cut!
Barbara and Barbie LOL Just as I think I am getting everyone straight you both are line dancers…ah…give me some time I will know everyone better! 😊
Sharon near Seattle Such an impressive transformation! You look wonderful! So much happier!
Sue Your Wright Bros goats are so cute!
Karen Sorry about the break-in for your vehicle. Theft is so distressing. I never understand how people are so disrespectful of other’s property. It’s so sad.
Machka The Clutter Free Gift Ideas are great!
KJ The children in your daycare are so blessed! I always love reading the things you are doing with them. I used to work with children at church when mine were young. I had forty-five 3 and 4 year old children for two hours once a week. Some of the most demanding and rewarding work I’ve done. I don’t think I could work with a handful now as undisciplined as so many have become. ☹ I hope you have recovered from the sinus stuff!
Rebecca Every time I see Athena I get more excited for my grand baby!! I hope she is half as cute as your sweet girl!! I just know I will smile much more often!
Still lots to read to catch up…hope everyone is healthy and happy!! Luci in WNC
