I am 233 lbs.
Have been overweight my whole life.
And also have been working out my whole life (martial arts and fitness).
I workout about 5-7 hours a week (high intensity workouts), but "you can't outrun a bad diet".
My nutritional goals are:
1. Eat less frequently (I am struggling with intermittent fasting)
2. Eat more vegetables and less sugar
My long term weight goal is 180lbs
My mid term weight goal is 200lbs
My short term weight goal is 210lbs7 -
I didn't realize your a pitty mom !! Good for you . I was the mom of a farrow pit and he was a pure angel with four legs. My husband has a rare illness called Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome and within the 1st month of having, yes, his name was Rocky, he was able to sense when my husband was going to have an attack. Suddenly he was taken from us this past January from congestive heart failure. His death rocked me to the core. Two months later my husband and I decided to adopt a rescue pit. He was found in a plastic garbage bag beside a lake in South Carolina at 6mths old. He was transfered to N.H. and that is where he came to us. He has an issue around strangers and especially men, he is frightened of men, but he has come along way so far. He has a forever home.5

Hi. I’m in. I’ve lost about 30 lbs since May, though this month has been basically a maintenance month. I’m dealing with some depression and a tough work situation, but I still want to lose another 80 lbs think this group might be helpful. I’m a Friday weigh-in and looking forward to getting to know more of you.6

Hello All!
Just joined MyFitness Pal and found this topic. After reading you all sound like a great group so I am hoping I can join you all. I am 46 and weigh 235 lbs. I have a goal weight in mind but I’m not thinking about that quite yet, as I want to meet the goals below first.
Immediate Goals
1. Stop eating out
2. Make better choices for meals/snacks
3. Move more
4. Control portions

Hi everyone! I realized today that one of my issues is that I don't eat often enough. I will eat a nice breakfast, and I may not feel hungry for six or seven hours, then I'm so hungry I eat way too much. Maybe not the end of the world but very bad for a diabetic. So that is something I need to address. I have a trick that has been helpful in the past, maybe it will help someone else. I cook in bulk and freeze single portions for convenience. I make a pound of brown or wild blend rice, and when it's cool I measure out 1/2 cup servings into small zip lock bags and pop in the freezer. I love my instapot, and I use it a few times a week. I eat a variety of beans, so I make soups or stews a lot. I pick a dry bean, soak overnight, rinse and drain. Throw in diced onion, bell pepper, carrots, canned tomatoes, etc. I change up the seasonings every time. My point is I always have several entrees to pick from. I'm steering away from animal products, but cooked chicken breast would be another good thing to have in the freezer. Today I had rice and split pea soup, and two tangerines around noon. I didn't eat again until 7pm and I had rice and pea soup again, because it was delicious, and some chicken breast. I'm happy to report that my blood sugar was 87 just now, before I ate, which is very good. I'll need something small before bed. Another goal I have is to get a routine for my meals, and to stop eating before bed. Side note, my knee felt a tiny bit better today.6

I am in for weekly weigh ins. Glad too see the group growing - going to have to make time to get on here more often. It encourages me to see others with similar goals and such.
This week I am preparing by eating less but more often, I made and froze bottles of unsweet tea for me(the family drinks sweet), and am cleaning and organizing to get rid of some of the chaos in my life (I tend to stress eat).
I have a Dr. appt tomorrow and will see how my blood pressure and sugar is, wish me luck. And of course have an official starting weight.
Hopefully next post won't include so many I's. It sounds like I like to talk about myself. lol
Hang in there everyone - This coming year will bring us great thing!🏊♀️🤩🎉🏃♀️🤩🎉🚶♀️🤩🎉⛹️♀️🤩🎉🏋️♂️3 -
Welcome sewingdance, jockette18 & kathamh, It's looking like an awesome group for this coming year. Sounds like everyone is dusting house for this adventure and starting to fill the frig with health foods. We welcome any and all advise for a healthy life. We've gotta turn the page this coming year and start coloring it in with more impressive colors than what we've been using in the past.
We've got this !0 -
sewinghouse has a good idea.
Name the first 5 things you are going to look forward to as you loss the weight;
1. Take a bubble bath without having a tow truck to pull me back out
2. climbing stairs without struggling
3. being able to turn/get out of bed without feeling I have a barbell holding me down
4. walk without huffing and puffing
5. pulling my two-way winter coat zipper down over my hips4 -
Hi. So I’m 32 year old science teacher living in central Iowa. I am currently teaching 8th grade science. My husband and I live about 45 minutes from the city we work in, so we’ll probably be moving back to the city this summer when our lease runs out. We have been talking about starting a family, and that is one of the things driving my decision to try to make healthier life choices.
One thing I have planned for the next few days is to join the gym that’s opening across the street. It's Planet Fitness and I used to be a member and really liked it, but when we mived out if the city there wasn’t one close enough to keep a membership. I haven’t really done any exercise since school started back up and the weather is so unpredictable this time of year that my plan of running outside for free that I did all summer really doesn’t work anymore.
I’m 241 right now, amd would like to end the year below 180, which I haven’t been since high school.7 -
Good Morning all,
I live in Tasmania Australia, so not sure if this puts me behind or in front of you all time wise?
My eating plan for January 2020, is to cut down on carbs and increase my protein.
Will post official start weight tommorrow.
Hope everyone has a happy new year5 -
Hi all! Today was a pretty good day. I was able to carry most of the pieces of the weight bench up from the porch, not all the way up to the attic, but it's a good start. Got a text that the treadmill I ordered is coming in a couple of days. I get the stitches removed from my knee in the morning. I made a pot of kale and black eyed peas today, and baked several small potatoes, and a sweet potato. Can hardly wait for 1/1/2020!4
