I wasn't thinking I was actually going to lose any because I'm severely hypothyroid, and my metabolism is in the dumps due to that. But it was still useful to "practice" eating well for when I could do weight loss (after the probable thyroid surgery) and to begin to exercise slowly to get over the exercise intolerance. Imagine my surprise!5 -
I found myself at home all day, no appointments, no place I had to be. Today is showing me how often I eat out of boredom.5

Re the salad, i would definitely vary the toppings in ways that had themes to them. A fajita salad! beef and onions and peppers and tortilla strips, tomatoes, and depending on your likes and calorie count, sour cream and guacamole.
Go Indian, and spice your chicken with curry powder, and add the onions, peppers, and the cucumbers, and add a yogurt dressing.
Thai-marinaded beef with bibb lettuce leaves, celery and carrot, peppers and onions? A ginger-lime dressing would rock that.

I just had an unconventional dinner. I made hummus from scratch and left out the oil and high-fat tahini so it's very low calorie. I always add a good sprinkle of cayenne pepper for more flavor, and lots of fresh garlic and lemon juice. I had hummus with cucumbers, snap peas, yellow bell peppers, and grape tomatoes, and it was delicious and filling. I'll be up for a few more hours so before bed I'll have a slice of whole grain toast with a small amount of peanut butter. Good wholesome food.6

I roasted bell peppers, carrots, brussel sprouts, asparagus onions and zucchini and made a baked pork tenderloin. I now have 3 meals made, to some not a big deal but to me I slayed (because I dont know how to cook I usually eat frozen) my goal is to eat healthier and figure out portion control.6

I do the same thing. The winter is even worse for me. At least when the weather is nice I can force myself outside.1 -
I had a small non-scale victory yesterday. Watching my favorite team losing 24-0 in the first quarter would have sent me to the snack food. But yesterday I peeled and cut a bag of carrots and chomped on them throughout the game. My team came back and won the game and I was able to feel great about that and not feel sick from eating junk!
My on scale victory:

This level of losing wont last - I have scaled back to 1200 - 1500 calories just to kind of reset things. Eventually I will live between 1500 - 1800.3 -

Hello all - I had a great weekend! I deep-cleaned by bedroom and closet, I was able to workout both days, and I had a game night with my whole family (even the moody teenagers participated ) These things are major to me, I've always been a clean freak and my hubby is not. I will organize and throw out 2 bags full of stuff only to find items 'rescued' from the trash and back in the house. This time I drove out to my cousin's apartments and used her dumpster! LOL I love my girls and hubby, but I feel like they sabotage my diets/healthy habits. Any time that I take for myself (on the treadmill, rower, or walking to the neighborhood park), they either poke their head in every 5 minutes: mom are you done? mom i'm hungry / tired / bored, or they tag along and are done after 10 minutes.
I've been staying on track and my workouts have gotten easier. I was sore day 2 and 3, but by the end of the week, I was keeping up great, so I increased the intensity today. I'll probably be sore tomorrow and Wed, but I hope to increase the intensity next week too.
The scale did not move at all, but I am OK with it. I feel fantastic!

I am in the same boat....promised myself I would start intermittent fasting, come NY’s day, and I did. I was too hungry yesterday, so trying again today. I took iron yesterday, as I was getting really tired, and sleeping too much (11 hours), hoping the iron will help with that. So far, so good, feel better today...gonna try to start working out as soon as my body adjusts to the new eating routine. May be Feb 1st, may be sooner. I am definitely a yo-yo dieter, and have been heavier then I want, my whole adult life, only reached 135 lbs. a couple of times, but never was able to sustain it. Ugh.
Starting weight, 1/1/20 = 250
Weigh in, 1/12/20 = 239.

My treadmill was delivered today, and it is a beast! It's huge! The men could not get it up the stairs to the third floor so it's set up in an empty bedroom on the second floor. I'm bummed because I wanted the attic to be my "home gym". Nope. I ran up and down the stairs at least 25 times and by the time I got the darn thing hooked up to the WiFi I was exhausted and my knee was killing me. I ate good today, and my bs was perfect. Great to see so many ladies participating here, so much positivity!7

Well, it's depression day, AKA, weigh in day. I did not eat "anything" other than my diet food. I wanted to binge on anything I could find last night, but I held strong, and my reward was gaining 3pds. I knew I would probably gain 1 or maybe two cuz of the big loss the first week, that's what I usually do, but 3 !!!
This is where I usually derail, give up, why bother, but not this time !!! I'm in it to win it.

Talk to your DR but Vitamin D helps me when I feel very tired. Turns out I was low and I get low in the winter months when there is no sun.2 -

You've got this. You have still lost and you will continue to lose weight. Just stick with it. I find eating a good amount of high fiber foods they day before I weight myself works. It cleans out any junk hanging around and I feel less bloated. It has worked so far... fingers crossed - thankfully I love carrots so I eat them all the time.3
