I am in the same boat....promised myself I would start intermittent fasting, come NY’s day, and I did. I was too hungry yesterday, so trying again today. I took iron yesterday, as I was getting really tired, and sleeping too much (11 hours), hoping the iron will help with that. So far, so good, feel better today...gonna try to start working out as soon as my body adjusts to the new eating routine. May be Feb 1st, may be sooner. I am definitely a yo-yo dieter, and have been heavier then I want, my whole adult life, only reached 135 lbs. a couple of times, but never was able to sustain it. Ugh.
Starting weight, 1/1/20 = 250
Weigh in, 1/12/20 = 239.

I roasted bell peppers, carrots, brussel sprouts, asparagus onions and zucchini and made a baked pork tenderloin. I now have 3 meals made, to some not a big deal but to me I slayed (because I dont know how to cook I usually eat frozen) my goal is to eat healthier and figure out portion control.
That sounds amazing!0 -

My treadmill was delivered today, and it is a beast! It's huge! The men could not get it up the stairs to the third floor so it's set up in an empty bedroom on the second floor. I'm bummed because I wanted the attic to be my "home gym". Nope. I ran up and down the stairs at least 25 times and by the time I got the darn thing hooked up to the WiFi I was exhausted and my knee was killing me. I ate good today, and my bs was perfect. Great to see so many ladies participating here, so much positivity!7

Well, it's depression day, AKA, weigh in day. I did not eat "anything" other than my diet food. I wanted to binge on anything I could find last night, but I held strong, and my reward was gaining 3pds. I knew I would probably gain 1 or maybe two cuz of the big loss the first week, that's what I usually do, but 3 !!!
This is where I usually derail, give up, why bother, but not this time !!! I'm in it to win it.

Talk to your DR but Vitamin D helps me when I feel very tired. Turns out I was low and I get low in the winter months when there is no sun.2 -

You've got this. You have still lost and you will continue to lose weight. Just stick with it. I find eating a good amount of high fiber foods they day before I weight myself works. It cleans out any junk hanging around and I feel less bloated. It has worked so far... fingers crossed - thankfully I love carrots so I eat them all the time.3 -
Today I am doing my best to avoid salt. I am very heavy handed with the salt shaker and I know it can't be good for me, and it may contribute to retaining fluid. And pounds! Tomorrow is my weigh-in so I really hope to see a loss this week.6

Oh, that stinks. Don't give up though! You know how to put your head down and keep going, and I believe in you and know you'll see some downward movement next time you weigh in. For the record, my weight always goes up two pounds the week before my period. You might want to see if that might have anything to do with it. Bodies are sometimes weird like that.

@CathyRocky: You're right, it isn't good for you. Do you do your own cooking? If you do, then stop salting during the cooking process; salt just before it goes to table, AFTER tasting it. I grew up cooking low sodium and now do it for myself and my boyfriend, and the only things I salt are my homemade bread dough (the gluten needs it) and I add imported sea salt in a light sprinkle to some roasted vegetables, along with cracked black pepper. When you don't use it much, you appreciate it more, I think.1

Yes, I cook from scratch, I love to cook! I've always preferred salty, crunchy snacks to sweets. I caught myself twice today as I was salting my food, so I used less both times.1 -
HI,
I would love to join this group. my starting weight was 213 now down to 205, can I still join. I don't want to be kicked out if I go below 200 (wishful thinking) This seems like a great group who are in contact on a regular basis, and to be honest, I think that is what we all need to keep us accountable.4 -

Wednesday update: From 296 to 288! I feel just a little less so, and the way my thighs rub has changed.
Unfortunately I have a deep muscle spasm. And If I can't get a bra on, I can't go work out. When one of my partners wakes up I'll have them try to rub it out, but I'm the first up, so here we are. (sigh)2 -

I have had an up and down week. I had 2 days over calories and did not make my 96 ounces of water. I will be continuing to focus on my water intake this week, I am also focusing on increasing my step count. I have a habit of sitting alot because my hobbies are Knitting, Counted Cross Stitch and such. I guess I will be paying attention to my fitbit more.
I hope everyone has a good week, Thank you for your support!6 -

I feel awful, I didn’t change anything from my work outs or what I was eating after my 5 pound loss.... to gain 3 pounds after working so hard this week is really a slap in the face. I want to give up so bad but I won’t... just super discouraged 😓 guess I’ll just have to work harder this week!5 -
Hey, I'd love to join as well! Starting at 230lbs, last weigh in was 223 so I'm finally coming down after like 2 years! I'm just hoping to keep it down this time...4

This could be water weight or even bloating. Stress can do it to you also. Please give yourself a break. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Weight yourself at the same time everyday. But even with all of that you can have ups and downs. You can do this!!

@ghoulgoth - hang in there. this too shall pass. next week will surprise you. keep pushing.1

What's everyone eating? I just had a big scoop of homemade fat free hummus with snap peas, peppers, cukes and grape tomatoes, it was delicious 😋! I need something more substantial before too long so a sweet potato and chicken breast are in my near future.4

Hi Everyone. I hope I can still join. I'm 53 years old, a wife, a legal secretary, a dog mom and I weigh 231 lbs. as of this morning. My initial goal is to get under two hundred pounds. My long term goal is still kind of fuzzy because I'm not even sure what's realistic at this point. I'd like to shoot for around 145 lbs, but that seems impossible right now even though I used to be thin! As the years went by, the pounds added up thanks to stress and a serious sweet tooth. I hope everyone has a good week.5
