Didn’t make it to the gym on Monday...that was my choice (my husband took a flex day and I had to runnsome errands after work so I just went home). Didn’t planning going yesterday (husband’s day off and chiropractor appointment after work). I was going to go today, but made a last minute appointment to donate blood aftergetting a text thatbthey were dangerously low in my blood type. That leaves me with 3 remaining days, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. I can still make my goal of 90 minutes this week, I just have to buckle down and actually go.4

My initial goal is to get under two hundred pounds. My long term goal is still kind of fuzzy because I'm not even sure what's realistic at this point. I'd like to shoot for around 145 lbs, but that seems impossible right now even though I used to be thin! As the years went by, the pounds added up thanks to stress and a serious sweet tooth. I hope everyone has a good week.
Hi! I remember when I weighed 145 pounds, and the extra weight came on soo slowly that I hardly noticed, then I was over 200. Welcome!1 -

Is that your goal, 90 minutes per week? That's a great idea!1 -
So a little bit of bad news for me... I over did my workout Tuesday and now my left foot and right knee are both hurting very bad. I was able to get through about 15 minutes of my workout yesterday before I had to stop. That is when I realized I was out of motrin. Not a good night. Today will either be a rest day or upper body only.
On the good side, a non-scale victory for me. A pair of pants that were pretty tight (I couldn't even get my phone in my pocket) I was able to wear them yesterday - and they were loose! Phone in pocket and still extra room.
I fought going on the scale - I used to check every day and would get frustrated when the scale didn't move. So I am sticking to once a week maximum but wow it is hard not to check.
Keep moving forward even if it is just baby steps.5 -
@celticck77 - sorry to hear the bad news about overdoing it. speedy recovery lady! however, i’m excited to hear about your NSV (woohoo)!!!
I think you should take a full rest day today and not even bother with the upper body. Perhaps the weekend would be a “GO”...... hope you restock your motrin 🤗2 -
Today is weigh in day
Jan. 1: 247.5
Jan. 9: 245.0
Jan. 16: 243.5
I’m happy I’m making progress even though I’m not going to the gym yet. Walking my dog and going to a park and running with her is definitely my way of working out for now. My gym membership is finally activating on the 18th which is Saturday and I’m super excited to go back to the gym and work out!5 -
I just came across this thread... and I am interested in joining in on this conversation group
I started at 298 in 2018. I started cutting back, not so much dieting, but watching what I was eating. I added in walking and jogging. 6 months later (Jan 2019) I started the gym. I have been going consistently for a year 5-6 days a week. I started the gym doing a lot of cardio, but now I've found much interest in doing weights. I got to 235 in October 2019, but over the holidays I went back up to 240.
I'm starting 2020 with keeping up with the gym 5-6 days a week, and hoping to really get strict on my diet to see if that will bring down the scale more.
I don't think I can do the 80lb loss because I've lost so much and the number on the scale has really slowed down, I'm guessing because I've been doing heavy weights for the last 6 months. My boyfriend is a heavy lifter and says with my body type I'll probably not go less than 220 doing the weights I'm doing. I'm basically built like a tank 5'10 (broad/stocky) so I figure I might as well excel in what I enjoy, which is weights... it's kind of fun to out do some of the men in the gym
So... sw298, cw240, gw1995 -
Slackajawea, we welcome everyone working downward! I'm at 283 headed for about 180-150, depending, so you're not the only one doing a big change.
CathyRocky, I'm probably going out for lunch, but am planning the food for next week. I'm going to visit a new meat market that's supposed to have game meat, because I'd love to do a cacciatore with rabbit and pheasant. I found a cacciatore recipe that doesn't have tomatoes in it, and that's better for me and mine; tomatoes make our chronic pain worse.1 -
Jan. 2: 261
Jan. 9: 258.2
Jan.16: 256.2
Still going in the right direction. Some days I went over my calorie goals but not nearly as much as I would have if I wasn't tracking what I eat. Sunday meal prep is helping me make better choices. Hope everyone has a great day!!5 -
@AlexandraMBT & @KJR865 - nice losses ladies4

Yum, just had my lunch. Half a chicken breast, and I put a small amount of tomato sauce and parmesan, a small baked potato, and plain broccoli. Delicious!5

I got 80 minutes last week, so I wanted to get 90 this week. I would like to go 4 days in a week and get 120 minutes, but I am not quite there yet. We’re supposed to have winter weather this weekend, but the gym is accross the street, so that shouldn’t stop me from going tomorrow after work and Sunday morning.
Another thing I have heard positive feedback about is my “reward goal”. Today was workout #6 and I get new loungepants/pajamas when I hit 30 workouts.4 -
@ladycopnh1 - what’s going on? we haven’t heard from you in DAYS! let me go back up this thread, perhaps i missed a post or two. OMG! pls check in. we are here for you 👌🏾

Not posted for a little while, things just stayed the same for me but good news, I’m down 1.2 lbs!!! I’m trying to increase my exercise but remembering to not over do it. Slow and steady!
Got the first session of diabetes prevention today as the steroids I was put on after my stroke made me prediabetic. Wish me luck!!5 -
I'm up a pound. Of course, my frontage also swelled a cup size overnight. Apparently we're getting ready for the usual monthly drama. So I'm not taking that real seriously.
I'm doing the shopping today, which means a lot of walking, so I'm not actually worried about not going to the gym. If I do both, I run out of spoons. And walking is exercise. (I have to shop today; we're out of cat food.)
Looking forward to a trip to a specialty butcher today. That may be quite fun for a foodie like me.2 -

@theleadmare - you cannot run out of cat food! LOL I have two and they would never let me live that down.
@FatimaStartsAllOver - nice job! you are rocking it.2 -
I took a rest day yesterday. And thank you it seems to have helped my foot. I spent some time with friends - went a little over my calories but I have been a bit low lately so I am okay with it.
My non-scale victory - I took a pretty small portion of spaghetti and sauce and decided I would get more if I was still hungry... I was a little hungry when I was done but after sitting and talking for a few minutes I realized that I was no longer hungry. My brain caught up with my body and I was good!! That gave me room to have a small piece of chocolate cake - less than half of what I would have taken before. Barely finished it and I was pleasantly full after. Not that over stuffed "why did I do that" feeling. Just the "I ate enough and I am good" feeling.
Everyone have a good weekend!2
