Today I visited a Vets Club (aka Adult Day Care Center) in hopes it will be a good fit for DH. They have a nice variety of activities from chair yoga to arts and crafts. They advised that if DH attends five days, there is a good chance he will begin to feel comfortable with the staff and other participants. It's rare for the participants to come in willingly, but they do grow to love the friendships, food and activities. I'm going to submit the paperwork to get him enrolled, then try to gently phase him in. 🤞 Not having raised kids, I can only imagine this is how it feels to take your toddler to day care for the first time. Stay tuned.
Barbie: How cool to have a new class to try with Jake.
Karen in VA: If you come into Denver airport again, hope we can meet before you drive east to NE.
Heather: The river cruise sounds divine. I LOVE port wine and haven't had it in years. Can't wait for your always vivid travelogue.
Today was the first sunny day after two solid days of snow. Beautiful, but cccold 🥶. Mars the Leash Loving Cat didn't care and so I suited up 4 separate times to take him out for his little jaunts. I kept reminding myself that being cold burns calories 😅
Stay well friends. We can do this.

I did this with my DFIL ,did all the paperwork and drove him to the first day.. I was speaking with supervisor and took myself downstairs for a few hours..
I Asked him when I got him back in the car how it was and he said real good.
So he ended up going during the week. They even got him in the shower. Which was a Godsend..we lives an hour away from him and the day care was another 1/2 hr away from there. It was a hardship for me to go to take him to things but I did it because I loved him. They would come pick him up and drop him off.. that was when he was ambulatory.
Today I was almost in tears.. a day from HE double toothpicks I hate my job and my boss is horrific9 -
Amber in TX: Congrats on the loss!!! WTG
Stefhscherr: Welcome! :flowerforyou:
Betsy in NW WA: I’m glad to see you posting again. I hope the treatments work beautifully for your sister.
Barbie: I need the social support that I find at the gym. It makes the exrercising so much more enjoyable and I am motivated to go regularly. At home, exercise gets lost in the list of to-do’s.
Heather: Rest well and enjoy your visit with your friend.
Rebecca: Athena is sooooooo cute.
We went to the financial advisor today. She’s new to us, so it was time well spent. She seems competent and helpful. We came home with ideas to follow through. Our will is among htem.

Dog and I have been out in the pouring rain twice today to feed critters. The goats don't like the rain and won't even come out of the shed. they just stand in the doorway and bleat at me. I make the dog wear her raincoat and she gives me sad, sad looks but doesn't want to stay in. I have water exercise at the Y tomorrow for the last time before they close the pool 3 weeks for repair.
Stef - Welcome, keep coming back.
Katla - Glad your meeting went well.
Rebecca - Gotta love those baby teeth showing in that smile.
Heather - Glad the right thing came along for DH's birthday.
Rori - Hope things work out for you and DH. Hope he learns to enjoy it there. It will be a real help for you.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Well, we’re here in FL. Unevenful trip down. We did leave at 8. Felt so good. By the time we got all somewhat settled, I could run across the street to Firehouse Subs for something to eat.
Did some HIIT today. The way the weather is going, I think I’ll probably be doing quite a bit of HIIT so I can get my workout done before it gets too hot out. Forgot to bring some more exercise shorts – only have two pair. Thought I had more…oh well, that means either I go shopping or do lots of laundry.
After exercise went to Aldi then WalMart then back to the condo to do cooking. Made a meatloaf and lasagna, took a break to go to the ceramics place here, back to WalMart since Vince needed a few things, to the dollar store to get storage containers and some soda for Vince, back to do some more cooking. Made shrimp gumbo, salmon patties, have a beef barley stew in the crock pot for later in the week. Have pork chops to make, I THINK. Going to see if I really need them. Made some of the yogurt “pops”
Karen VA – yeaa for no more pain!
JanetO – good thoughts for the job
Vince bought this thing so that we can watch prime movies down here. He bought it because he knows that I use it at home. What he didn’t know was that they only time I use it is when I’m on the recumbent bike and that’s not something we have down here. But his heart was in the right place. We’ll be able to watch movies, tho
Lucy NC – oh, you’ll know when I get back, I’ll certainly be posting about it. Hopefully, maybe next year I can get Vince to leave late in Jan rather than early in Feb. Well, I’ll try. Used to be we’d only be here for a week, then I got him to 2 weeks, now I’ve got him for a month, next step – more than a month
I’ll get to live vicariously thru Heather and her trip!
Stef MD – welcome! I’m so sorry you lost your husband. Was it something that was expected?
<singing> I know who Rebecca loves, I know who Rebecca loves (and I can’t blame her)
Rori – what’s the best way to ease someone into the Vet Care?
Katla – I’m with you, I need the social part of a gym, too. On some days I do something at home just because the gym doesn’t work into the schedule. But I still need the interaction
Well, going to take a shower. I find that I need more showers down here because it’s so humid.

She got quite a pair of legs and booty! Gotta love a healthy pudgy girl.💖
💖Rebecca8 -
She's 9 months old! Can babies go from crawling to walking before 12 months old? Crazy girl!
💖Rebecca10 -
Rebecca-Athena is beautiful. And yes they can go to walking before 12 months. My sons both walked into the doctor's office for their 9 months checkups. Actually, they didn't do full out crawling before that, more of the army man creep. They started crawling sometimes after they started walking. As backwards as they started out, they turned out fine.
Stef-welcome. My husband passed nearly 5 years ago. It is a roller coaster, but we can make it through.
Work items are getting caught up, even though the list keeps growing. At least the different projects give me different challenges.
Getting freezing rain and maybe some snow tonight. Was going to go to ladies craft group, but it was being held at a members house who lives out in the country and I am not overly familiar with the roads out there (have only been to that house once in the daylight). Did not feel like driving after dark in the rain, etc. Night driving is starting to bother me some, especially in bad weather and unfamiliar places. I think I am fairly normal so I am not going to let it bother me. Stayed in, got a bit on treadmill and stretches in. Lunch packed for tomorrow. Clothes ready. Will hit bed here in a bit. I know I will be up early in am to check on conditions. I typically get to work early on bad weather days so I can gauge staffing and see if we need to make any adjustments.
Take care all,

Hi!!!! I’m Jackie, I haven’t had a really close friend in a long time. Busy with husband, kids and work. Lately I’ve been thinking it would be nice to have a group of close girlfriends to get together with now and then for whatever movie night, wineries, plays, concerts, etc. I’m on this weight loss journey for me, my health and feeling like me again. Happy to find this 55+ group to belong to. I’m 57 live in beautiful Lake Milton, Ohio. A very small lake town with one gas station called Ted’s and He pumps the gas for all the women that drive in. 😁🏊🏻♂️⚓️🛶10

Rebecca- My Daughter walked around 6months old! Son well balance issues he was a year old to walk assisted had balance issues past 2yrs old. Daughter also talked huge words at Athenas age (JR always delayed). She used to look up in the store at something she didn’t approve of say “That’s Despicable!” People were so caught off guard that she could talk y walk. She was a wordy one could hurl insults to praise at a whim no clue where she learned them all! She called her Kindergarten teacher “Unintelligible “ after the teacher said “Kids this age are so stupid“ I didn’t even know it was a word. JR well today he attempted to say blue berry it came out Blooos Verbbie . He can tell off a pizza boy tho! “No sauce on pizza last time,There better be sauce!” Like an old man complaining then he sits in a chair staring out the window grumbling about pizza. He says stuff hippies used to say finally discovered My Dads begins those! He probably was behind Daughters too! My Dad is such a stinker!

Hello ladies! I have been reading and sending prayers and well wishes for everyone. I have just been extremely busy and don’t have a lot of time to post. I have been working on recomposition exchanging left over fat for muscle and I definitely see a difference. I am still swinging my Kettlebell! I also have been riding my ebike. Today we went for a 20 mile ride along the canals in Phoenix. We ate lunch along the way.
We plan to go on a hike tomorrow in the mountains. I joined a weight loss challenge group on here 3 months ago to help with my recomposition and have loss 5 #s of fat and muscled up a lot. We feel like kids again!
I hope everyone continues to work towards their goals with great success!

Rori: I am keeping my fingers crossed that your DH will give the Vet’s Club a fair chance. If he goes several times he may be able to make friends and that would be a very good thing.
Sue: Make the most of your final swim before the pool gets some maintenance and attention.
Machka: “Your Plan & Reality” looks like a fine visual for real life.
Pip: I worry about your morning commute. If the drivers don’t notice that you’re riding on the road even though you’re well lit up, I fear they’re still sleepy and groggy and aren’t alert enough. Sending protective thoughts your way.
Mary: It is so good to see your post! I hope we’ll hear from you more often. :flowerforyou:
We had a new yoga teacher this morning with a different style of yoga. I loved her class. I hope she’ll stay with us for a long time. After I came home DH & I went to meet our new financial advisor. She was clearly competent and we think things will go just fine with her advice and help.

32 flights of stairs today + walking. I did my usual climbing, plus I was in and out a bit, so I got a bit more.
