Barbie- I totally agree with you about negative people who don't appreciate their "luck". I think back in my life when I tended to be like that.... so glad I changed my outlook and try to exercise my "gratitude muscle" as much as possible. Counting blessings.
Kelly - Barbara AHMOD is also a big fan of Tai Chi. The actual Tai Chi I was taught in class was a series of steps and arm positions and breathing. For my friends and I, it was confusing and not relaxing at all, lol. But I did pick up the belly breathing part. Now, my favorite YouTube instructor is Don Fiore. He has short videos which focus on the breathing and positions with repetitive arm movements and weight shifting which are calming and help my balance.
I've been meaning to mention - the photos of the grands you gals have been posting are great, thank you for posting them
Heading out to do some early shopping this morning before the stores get crowded, as usual. I don't think it will hurt to throw a small package of the chocolate covered malted milk Easter eggs into my shopping cart, will it?
Dogs need to be fed and won't let me ignore them any longer, lol.
Make it a safe and healthy day!
Lanette

Looking for toddler food recipes for JR easy quick no weird shapes lol 😂 (JR turns down cookie cutter shapes to worm looking items).
Anyone got any picky eaters like? Maybe I can tweak it even. We’re under a stay home advisory from the Mayor (Taylordebraa8007 too now y my Daughter same area of bases) so trying to make what we got work y stretch maybe get MrPicky to add another item to his picky short list.

Ditto to what Lanette said: I've been meaning to mention - the photos of the grands you gals have been posting are great, thank you for posting them3

i'm up to $453!! i'm doing good for the MS ride!
we paid for the cruise this year. kirby should be a travel agent. i'm sure partly due to the virus going around, people are freaked out but we got more than we did last year and paid 1k less and are on the top floor. he should be. he booked it way before this scare came about but he was calling almost daily for any deals, discounts and/or upgrades. he's the man!5 -
I came home to see him this morning.
Debby in Va10 -
Karen in VA: I love the photos of your grandchildren.
Barbie: If I was scheduled to go on a cruise I would also cancel at this particular time of health worries. Being in close proximity to too many strangers is currently worrisome. Air travel is the worst thing I can think of because of the recycled air on long flights. I think this is a scary time to be in an airport or jet. :noway:
Machka: Congrats on your rain!
Oregon and Washington have had cases of Corona Virus and some deaths. Everyone in our community is stocking up on things like face masks—none were left in town yesterday afternoon. Vitamin C is in high demand at the local stores as is hand sanitizer.
Katla in Beautiful NW Oregon2 -
We heard some sad news last night that an airline has gone bust. It was the one close to us at Southampton that I used a lot. 95% of the airport flights were with Flybe, so the whole airport is currently defunct. Huge knock on impact on the supply chain and the town. I don't live there anymore, but I feel very sad about it. My difficult friend was booked to fly with them for our girls get together in May in Glasgow. She'll have to find another way to get there. Belfast, near Terri, is also affected, but there are other airlines flying there.
Had a letter from Saga today, just reiterating what is on their website. Things are changing fast, so it's already out of date.
Katla - Don't think vit C is going to be much use! Nor face masks, they say.

The rain has finally eased up here in north Georgia (for now, anyway) but there's still no sunshine. It's a good day to be at the loom. Here's an afghan that I was working on at the big loom. Got it finished and now am doing stuff on the smaller rigid heddle loom because it's portable and I can stay in the same room as DH. Hope everyone is well and making headway with their goals. Pat
7 -
Heather: I don't think vitamin C is a cure for anything other than scurvy, but it is part of helping the body be at its best. We have all that we need. What IS in short/no supply around here are facemasks. Everyplace in town that carries them is sold out. :ohwell:2
-
There are a lot more coronavirus tests going out this weekend so new cases are bound to be discovered next week. Not looking forward to that. I'm worried about my trip to Tuscon the end of the month. The last thing I want to do is bring this home to my parents. Nothing to do but worry and wash hands.2

Lilliana is feeling much better today, having recovered from feeling puny after her immunizations. She gets to stay home with Mommy today. Mommy is having a rare day off:

Pat ~ Lovely job of weaving. What part of N GA are you in? My husband and I graduated from the U. of NGC in Dahlonega. Also, Dr. Katie is from north Georgia but I think it is more over in the eastern part.
Carol in GA2 -
Good to see the baby better today. Shots are so horrible for them but worth it.My family has lost limbs from tetanus to hundreds of babies from German Measles. That’s something my Baby Doctor has written down if he gets German Measles even if vaccinated he will be hospitalized to be safe she said (family history tale take signs are important if a person can get them but many cannot).
Learned the CDC was going to release the 100’s from the cruise ship 🛳 at the same mall that had the Coronovirus lady. Luckily our mayor stopped that nonsense, but some live here so released went straight to our community, others drove so stopping for gas ⛽️ to food 🍟,rest hands held tossed on the plane ✈️ like they would wonder off like a toddler (sure they appreciated that ).
JR licked 👅 ALL our paper plates we bought for emergency 🚨 just in case. Lol so contaminated check ✅ ready for more germs 🦠 to add to them. Showed him away he went right back heard him counting until he got to the plate he missed! Boys/Men are a different breed for sure.
Looking for recipes I bought mayo can use it instead of yougurt in his pancakes 🥞 it lasts longer. Not opening them until needed. Trying to find handy recipes for him. I accidentally put tiny but of Guacamole in his quesadilla wasn’t thinking so it got rejected. Got 2 cans of protein powder can use water in it if were out of almond milk 🥛 . JRs bores keeps asking for McDonald’s. Sorry kid but nope 👎. He wants his Birthday 🎁 now ! Well too bad so sad scheduling it for after his Bday Saturday 14th my Dads coming out will play it by ear 👂. Stay at home eat what I make to a restaurant takeout or sit down will see where the warnings are for the city to other stuff 3 adults will decide (Dad studied basic medical in college so good when his minds working still to have his opinions).
Good news April is coming maybe this will all subside awhile fingers crossed 🤞 with you guys.
Looking at other exercise equipment for later on haven’t decided yet will see. I’m still researching.

Cruise 🚢 updates
https://apple.news/AzNqTN-xCRsKteUc0als0LA
They stuck 2,500 new people on the infected one after everyone was removed recently. Now their getting sick 🤒 😷 too. So guess money 💵 was on their minds not safety at all .

oh what a stressful day I'm having! I will work on finding my center of calm and remember that this too shall pass. Right now I'm taking a breather and checking in with you all. Luckily it is a bright and sunshiney day so I will take a quick walk to breathe in some fresh air. I packed a good breakfast and lunch, am wearing my power suit (like superman's cape!) and am grateful for all that I have. I will get through this day (work related, nothing too even get into here) and onto the next day. Can't wait to get home to DH and my sofa!
NYKAREN6 -
Pat - LOVE your weaving. You are a true professional. Do you sell your work?
Katla - The advice over here is that masks are pretty much useless. Vit C is a waste of time unless you don't eat any fruit or veg at all. As are most vitamins.
Personally, and it is just my opinion, I think we will nearly all get what is a flu unless we isolate ourselves completely. I had real flu in 1968 and 1977 and it was horrible, but it passed. The cough I had last year was just as bad. I am not afraid of it. What I am afraid of is hype and overreaction. Many, many people die in this country every year from flu and other respiratory diseases. I do not intend to isolate myself, so it's business as usual and if I catch it, I catch it. C'est la vie. Older people with health or breathing problems should self isolate far as possible and take precautions.
With the cruise I feel like it's a game of chicken. Who will crack first? I hope it's them and I get a complete refund.
Still raining.

After almost scratching all the skin from my feet, legs, and thighs I went to the cosmetologist yesterday. She believes I have Nummular Eczema. My body look awful just covered with these dark scabs! She ended up doing a biopsy resulting in a couple of stitches. They should have the test back early next week. In the meantime she prescribed a huge jar of petroleum jelly based corticosteriod.
Katla: Love the rice crackers for breading the chicken. I intend to try this soon.
Pat in Georgia: I love watching birds too. We get quite a few different types here during the migration seasons but I do have some Cardinals that grace my front steps every afternoon. We also have an owl nesting near the house that hoots during the night and occasionally flies down the street in the evening.. Our best visitor is a red tailed hawk. It always amazes me how quiet all the birds get when the hawk is out and about. We had two huge trees cut down this winter. I hope I will still get to see my beautiful guests.
Heather: I am sad for your postponed cruise. I hope you get a refund too.
Beth: That produce box looks great. I think I might give it a try too.
KJ (Kelly): I’m doing low carbs right up until the black jelly beans appear on the shelves!

You can get 10lbs of Jelly Belly Licorice Jelly Beans on Amazon for $60. Just sayin'...4

Heather- I agree I’m not afraid of the virus 🦠 I’m more afraid of crazy pandemic rip a baby 👶 out of my arms put him in isolation away from me. Or Hubby goes for groceries someone takes his temp He gets carted off with us at home 🏡 wondering where he went type nonsense. I do worry for my older Father since he a severe asthmatic doesn’t do well with swine flu (he got once) to regular flus y colds. If no one would lock 🔐 you on a cruise ship 🛳 for a month or more just cause 1 person gets it I’d say go ahead y go. It’s the huge reaction from them licking folks away is scary. The folks from the hotel that lady went to y other places have been isolated 21 of them. How many were single parents? Or the main caregiver of their youngest? They still haven’t located everyone from the mall yet. Hubby said go take JR to Chuckie cheese a minute ago then realized oops what he said. I said I’m tired 😴 JR said I tired 😴 lol luckily Hubby was off the hook lol. He forgot Mayor saying stay home right now. JR licked the windows so my next step is to wash windows. Have no clue why he in a licking phase... Dad said I did that as a kid so probably in his
🧬 genes 🧬 . He been watching cats out the window probably the source of the sudden licking thrill.

"Get to do"s and "chose well"sChose well: T’ai Chi, baked cheddar corn muffins and made chili for Lenten soup supper, called Diane.
Bonus: Post Office, Library, Gas, Freddie’s
Get to do: invest 10 mins cleaning Dining Rm, carry over Guest Bth, veg prep, board meeting minutes, call Carolyn D, bake something for Joe, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, follow up with Doug for iCloud for Win10. Reward: inventory seeds, plan garden, order replenishments.
Yet another vacuum rant:Our heavy, not-really-so-old Hoover died yesterday so I finally allowed myself to order a Dyson cordless stick vac. Chose the oldest due least cost, but the model with the most tools as I really wanted the soft brush for our laminate. Does it get bad reviews for short battery life? Yes. Do I really want to be vacuuming more than 10 mins at a time? One of the reviews said it made vacuuming fun. :noway: Another said her husband “vacuumed.the.entire.house.” calling it his “ray gun.” :amazed: If having to hold the trigger up continuously makes my hand cramp up, back it goes. This $299 purchase with Shadow’s new $90 kennel, $33 for moisturizing sunscreen with magic Mexoryl and $50 rolling chair frame for my stability ball just about uses up my share of the discretionary spending portion of our tax refund. Happy birthday to me! Or rats, that $50 frame is no longer available, have to spring for $63 to get one that comes with its own ball. Such a reward for deferring gratification Oh well, maybe it’s good to have a spare.
Katla “felt happier and more energetic after my exercises” ditto, generally. Sometimes attribute it to the banging your head against a brick wall phenomenon, it feels so good when it stops. So far no shortages in our grocery stores, but haven’t been looking for vit c, sanitizer or masks. Got the last wipe from the dispenser at Freddie’s yesterday, hope they were able to restock. A friend was in Eugene Saturday and said there was absolutely no toilet paper on Costco’s shelves. Kinda silly as COVID19 is a respiratory illness and not the other end… So with you about recycled air in planes.
Amber hope your dad’s neighbors calm down soon. That cruise line was inconscionable about refilling the ship, and one wonders about the good sense of those who chose to be passengers. When it comes to the choice between $$ loss and health loss… know which one I’d pick.
Machka, Oww! Maybe a “please open gently” sign at eye level on that lav door? PJ’s, Miss Marple and ginger tea, just what the doctor ordered. Send some of that rain over here, puhleeze!
Heather,“Now, after daily exercises, including weights, covering all those aspects, I feel around 45!” well done! My BB&B buddies tried to convince me that 70 is the new 50… or maybe even 40 I definitely feel the BB&B exercises, especially in my hip and butt muscles. Coach says that’s the “bacon sizzlin’” As for the benefits, it’s subtle but there. I can walk down the stairs from our deck without clutching the handrail. When I step on one of the dog’s dollies/sticks/whatever I stumble a bit but do not fall down. Always grateful when I can keep my feet. Got brave enough to “jump” off a low curb with both feet at once. Trying to jump UP high enough to clear the wii, with a goal of being able to jump up onto a 4” step by the end of spring session. Love the songs you sang, especially Tipperary. By any chance did they include “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and “Just you wait, ‘enry ‘iggins, just you wait!” Please send us some of that rain, pretty pretty pretty please?
Kylia very well done! My weight fluctuates a lot too, but alas, mostly in the one wrong direction.
Ginny enjoy your windfall!
SuziQ Chocolate malts, si. Ovaltine NO. Malty ales yum, hoping my AF ale has lots of malt extract. Thanks!
Carol we opened a bag of Jordan Almonds yesterday, surprised it’s lasted this long…
Beth 44 hrs? Wow what a great produce box! We’d have trouble eating all that before it spoiled.
Welcome @rarowe417!
Karen in VA the pic of GD pampering Liliana. Her smile says it all about having Mommy home for the day.
Lanette “cold pizza” for the resistant starch and beer for the malt? Reheated baked potatoes and pasta maybe... Thanks for the fasting link.
Tracey now that’s a meme that could get Joe to wash his hands thoroughly, if only he wore contact lenses
Barbie “Kauai for 2 weeks…complained because of… some rainy weather” LOL. It just goes to show how much happiness/contentment is a choice. Thanks for the laugh.
Barbie and KJ, as for learning T’ai Chi, imho, like Yoga, starts best with a live teacher to give a firm foundation. Then home practice is key to success. Even after years of T’ai Chi, when I dropped in on class yesterday, teacher was able to correct some movements that had gotten out of alignment. Lanette’s right, the instructor can make all the difference, either good or bad. Some T’ai Chi instructors get so focused on the position of every little finger it is just ridiculously distracting and impossible. A good instructor gives cues helping you to focus internally and connect with your body and breathing, then gently guides you away from any major misalignment.
Michele “in the 90’s”?!? Have to admit to a little heat envy, but not willing to put up with the humidity or bugs or alligators to get warm Can you run the soaked blankets through the spin cycle again to help them dry?
Pip
Rebecca now Suki’s beach looks a little gravelly, but would meet you and Sharon @trucker743 there! The pee pad/yoga mat cartoon made me snort my tea! Might have to share it with Joe. Thanks!
Mary I stocked up on some snack sized favorites last Halloween. Joe just ate the last of the pb cups and I still have half a bag of mini-Look bars to dole out.
Debby in VA thanks for that cardinal, we don’t have ‘em here out west.
Pat your weaving and loom!
Annie how can you tell “there are a lot more coronavirus tests going out this weekend”? Heard a rumor yesterday that there were only 80 or so COVD-19 tests available for the entire state of Oregon, but didn’t get to ask for the source or if that was for the day/week/month or??? Even if you had no symptoms, you could pick it up in the airplane, may have to postpone that Tuscon trip til things settle down. Wash hands, yes! Worry, not so good for your immune system. Please eat well, play, rest, and find positive things to do to push that worry out of your mind.
NYKaren hope the time with DH and your sofa is truly restorative. Be sure to shake the day off your power suit/cape before you go in…
Tere in RVA OWW. Didn't know Cosmetologists in the US coud biopsies or prescribe cortisone containing creams, hope it relieves you soon!
Karen in VA (and KJ) you could have ALL my black licorice jelly beans, if I let myself buy a mixed bag this year.
Yikes! Joe just called and will be home from having his eyeball lasered in an hour! I’ve been goofing around all morning, time to fire up the little vac and do what I can.
Lighter, lovelies!

Took the Power Hour class. No plans to exercise tomorrow since I’ll be driving home
Heather – so sorry about the airline.
Katla and Heather – the news here in FL is the same – the masks are useless unless you have the virus. They’re asking people not to buy them unless they absolutely need them because then the people who really need them (hosp. workers, etc) can’t get them.
Went to the Y and we had to have the class in another room. There were no fans at all. Actually, I found that I had to use lower weights. We had to bring all the equipment in that room. They had the Zumba class in the aerobics room. Usually it’s in the gym but the gym is closed for a few days. Why they just couldn’t cancel Zumba for one time is beyond me. But who am I???
Barbara – I wish I could run the towels thru a spin cycle, but the washing machine down here doesn’t have that option. Good luck to Joe
After exercise went to Publix to take my recyclable bags. They are the only ones who have a bin where you can recycle your egg cartons. Then went to buy gas, then get money at the bank. Home and in the pool only my headphones lost the charge so I came upstairs, put them on to charge while I washed the floor, then went back into the pool. Or I should say lay out in the sun. Just put a lot of things in the car. Of course, there are some things that can’t go in now, like the refrigerated items.
They have a meeting today to talk about smoking on the condo property. I’m very much against smoking, wouldn’t bother me one bit if they said no smoking on the property. But I know that’s unrealistic. But they’re talking about being able to smoke along the seawall and 20’ from the building. Now that I have a problem with. If the wind if blowing, the smoke could blow into the condo of the person on the first floor. Is that fair to him? Do they mean that technically someone can stand outside the pool and smoke so the smoke goes into the pool area? What do they do with their cigarette butts if they’re smoking by the seawall. Throw them in the river? This should be an interesting meeting.
Michele getting ready to leave FL <boo hoo>

Barbara: So far, our local stores are well stocked with food and staples. The exceptions are hand sanitizers and face masks. I could not find any face masks and only two tiny bottles of hand sanitizer yesterday.
I have a city meeting scheduled for next week. I wonder whether it will be cancelled. We shall see as time goes along. So far there is no information from the city. I plan to go to yoga tomorrow unless I find out that it is cancelled. This is a one day at a time situation.

Any one who has an elderly relative must be worried. Or someone with a compromised immune system.
My pigs cheeks in cider were heavenly. Cabbage with it. I did them in the IP.
I managed to get to the rower and bike this afternoon so I'm within calories.

Don’t worry I didn’t eat that sandwich! Saw it while out with the baby been trying to figure out what it is. Found out yuck 🤢 lol. I thought it was a weird sweet bread 🥯 or bagel from the road lol 😂.
Been on the cell with Daughter off y on checking in no one told her the bases lockdown for Active Shooter was over. A threat that luckily wasn’t carried out so probably a letter or call only or someone heard a car backfire. https://www.10news.com/news/local-news/san-diego-news/security-threat-sends-naval-base-san-diego-into-lockdown?_amp=true
Michele- Be careful driving . I’d be more concerned they’ll throw the cigarette 🚬 butts around the pool means it gets in the water gross (I lived at an Apartments as a kid was what happened).
Katla- true 1 day at a time for us all. They said hand sanitizer doesn’t even work against this use soap 🧼 wash good only.
